I just got my DFP 9315 Chain/Belt drive today, and it's AWESOME! I Play Metalcore/Thrash Metal, and I can tell you, this pedals beat the crap out of the Cobras, Eliminators, Dws, you name it. When you take it out of the box it comes with a soft case, two keys specificaly designed for the pedal, the belt drives (I dind't test them yet), the pedal is highly customizable, you can pretty much change everything, from the beater angle, to the spring tensions, to the cam (like the eliminator, but without having to change the cams), you just need the drumkey, the beaters make the sound deep and warm, perfect for metal, this pedal is built to last, the only bad thing about it, is that is dificult to mount when you take it out! but otherwise IT's The Best you can GET! Forget all the others, yamaha for life!
After a long time looking around and fooling around at music stores, I found this pedal to be the fastest and most responsive. I did a side by side comparison to this and an Iron cobra and I have to say the Iron Cobra felt slow and cumbersome compared to this pedal. I am currently going through Thomas Lang's 'Creative Coordination' book and this pedal can easily take the beating. It is very adjustable and once you get it dialed in to your likings it stays. It's a 'set and forget it' pedal.I also really enjoy the sound I get from the felt beater. The only small complaint I have is the way the slave pedal slides around. It really isn't a big deal and is made up for by the over all performance of the pedal. All in all, this pedal is responsive, fast and reliable. What more do you need?
This pedal has had two previous owners before me. I alone have been playing on it for seven months, but I put Really good DW beaters on em. and its a three year old pedal. this thing is that old, and been put through soooo many practices and gigs, and still plays like a champ. its about time for me to buy another one.
I found a good deal on this pedal as a beginner. At first I had delay in the left pedal which I assumed was a fault in U-joints, however the problem was ultimately solved by having both springs on the right(main) pedal. This pedal is durable, strong, and incredibly smooth. I find it to be too small though. You can feel the momentum of the beaters. They are large and punchy but soft and fat. Great pedal beginner or professional!
These Pedals are good, I like them very much. I've had them for a couple months now, and I favor them over my DW 7000s(their slow). But these pedals are smooth and fast,(thats what she said...lol)and I enjoy playing them. I would recommend them, so therefore, get them!
I've been doing this for a long time...drumming that is. Now a days it seems like pedals are like futuristic spaceships. If you can remember the old Camco pedal. Just simple and fast. The speed king. Simple. Well thats this pedal. Its super quit super fast and very accurate. The motion from the slave pedal doesnt feel sluggish. I have a DW9000 and this is now my primary pedal. I love it.
