This hi-hat stand is ok if you are just beginning. Mine came with my kit and I have had it for about 2 years. I play fairly hard. The stand wobbles a bit while playinf and the clutch comes loose. Overall it is a decent stand if you are just starting and don't play hard.
This is an ok entry level hi-hat. There is no tension adjustment except to disassemble it and replace the spring. I don't know if replacement springs are even available. But after 4 years of nearly daily use in Jazz and rock drumming (I keep time with my hi-hat, it is ALWAYS going) my medium weight top cymbal now causes the spring to compress about an inch. I like to have the cymbals open about 1 1/2 inches. It's also difficult to position properly when using a remote bass pedal.
The plastic part that holds the bottom hi-hat's tilt screw breaks very easily. I don't consider myself a hard player, but this hi-hat stand moves too much when using the pedal.
