A wooden piano stand to match Yamaha's P85 contemporary digital piano.

The Yamaha L85 Digital Piano Stand accessorizes your Yamaha P85 or P85S contemporary digital piano. The optional stand provides stability and optimum sound projection for the keyboard as well as a stylish appearance with a black finish (to match the P85).

*Note: The foot pedals (pictured) do not come with L85 stand. If you would like to add the 3-pedal system shown, please see the Yamaha LP5 Sustain Foot Pedal (#423440), which fits the L85 and L85S stands.

Get your P-85 digital piano off that old card table and onto the properly fitting stand when you order today.

This is a great way to turn the "slab" piano into something more like an upright if you don't plan to move it regularly. While very stable, these type stands are not really made for transporting and I have seen them break trying to do so. My only negative is that the keys end up about 28 and 3/4" off the floor, which is more than many standard acoustic pianos. Not sure why Yamaha chose to make it that high and there's no adjustment. It's enough off that we found a standard piano bench not tall enough. Of course you can use an adjustable bench or stool, but you still have the pedal distance issue. So shorter people are not able to rest their heel on the floor while using the pedal. This is partly a problem with the pedals themselves being too high off the floor (also higher than regular piano pedals). But that is partly a problem with the pedals, not just the stand. This height issue is not a showstopper and I still find the stand functional. Just wanted to point that out in case it truly matters to a prospective buyer. My only other negative is that the wires are not completely hidden in the back and merely held by screw-in wall-mount type cable clips. This primarily would be of concern if you have the piano out in the room with the back exposed rather than up against a wall. I had a problem also with screws being missing in the package that hold the piano to the stand. However, I managed to find something at a hardware store that worked temporarily and Musician's Friend was very gracious to work out getting the screws from Yamaha and shipping them to me.

This stand is easy to install and has a decent quality. However, there is one big problem, which is the depth of the stand is so short that when the pedal bar is attached (separately sold), it doesn't give you enough leg room, and you have to unnaturally bend the knees when pedaling. The longer you use the pedal, the more you feel this and I almost thought to return these set...
Other wise it's a good stand.

    Comments about Yamaha L85 Wood Keyboard Stand for P35B / P85 / P95 / P105 Digital Piano:

The wooden keyboard stand stabilizes the Yamaha keyboard, though it has not been mounted in the brackets. The stand and separately purchased pedal unit are significant improvements compared with metal folding frames and portable foot pedals. The wooden stand and pedal unit will be missed and even more appreciated when the keyboard is away from home.

    Comments about Yamaha L85 Wood Keyboard Stand for P35B / P85 / P95 / P105 Digital Piano:

i switched from the performing cross bar stand, because it was wobbling when i practised technique from one end to the other. now it doesn't wobble.

i wouldn't recommend it for performing however, it would be too much work before and after to remove screws.

        Comments about Yamaha L85 Wood Keyboard Stand for P35B / P85 / P95 / P105 Digital Piano:

We bought a Yamaha P-105 88-Key Digital Piano complete set in May. The customer service (supposedly product expert) help selected The Keyboard Stand, The Keyboard Bench and the Pedal Unit. The Pedal Unit was shipped in June. Except when I tried to install the Pedal Unit in July I found that it was the wrong Petal Unit and it would fit The Keyboard Stand. Because we are now beyond the 45 days return/ refund policy date, they refused to process the exchange for the correct Petal Unit. They advised me to contact Yamaha directly. To compound the insult to injury, they admit it was their fault and apologized but cannot override the 45 days return/ refund policy. I recommend the company to fix the sale software program (alert for potential items do not match when assembled in a single order transaction) to avoid inconveniencing customers going forward.

          Good Stand

          By Karen Kliewer

          from Dallas

          Comments about Yamaha L85 Wood Keyboard Stand for P35B / P85 / P95 / P105 Digital Piano:

This stand was easy to put together and looks great. We're happy with the stability -- much, much better than using a portable "X" type stand. The X Stand that came free with our P95 purchase did not work at all. The keyboard totally slid around. Maybe it could have sometwhat worked with some kind of rubber buffer between. But we decided to spend the extra and get this stand. It was well worth it.
