This is a great invention and a great pick holder but a lousy pick. The black loop is brilliant and works great for holding the pick. If you wear it on your middle finger you can flip it up above your thumb and finger pick, then flip it down and use the pick. The pick will never spin, nor will it ever fly out of your fingers. It is simple but it is genius. The problem is that the the stupid green/blue/red plastic they use for the pick is complete garbage. It is soft and flimsy. It gives a very bad tone to the guitar and it also wears out very quickly. The plastic literally shreds on the strings. My solution? Lop off the colored plastic pick just below where the black loop plastic stops, take the thing out to my shop and buzz the one side of it on my grinder wheel until it is smooth and flat, then superglue whatever pick I want onto it. I am fond of the Plec Pro pick. I just glue one on to the Orbit and have the ultimate pick. By the way, the only glue I've found that works is Gorilla Superglue. Not Gorilla Glue and not Superglue. Gorilla Superglue. You have to hold it a long time because it does not dry/set quickly, but it holds.

may be of some use to those who have zero ability to hold a pick... but it could be soooooo soooooo much better. I bought it thinking I could easily switch from fingering my bass to picking and back. the "pick" wears out in less than an hour of playing. looks like my idea for this pick FAILed. I'm not upset I'm only out a few bucks... just sad that it wasn't what I thought it could be.
Features... what somewhat looks like a pick molded to some cheap flimsy rubber.
cheap. cheap, flimsy rubber. not what it looks like in the BIG picture. is much smaller than it seems.
This for one single, crappy pick. it's not green either. its red.

Lifesaver for disabled guitarist

By GH1071

from Midlothian, VA

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

I have had diabetes for over 25 years. Within the last couple of years, I've noticed increased numbness in my right hand, especially towards the ends of my fingers. It had gotten to the point that I all but stopped playing guitar, because I could not hold the pick correctly. Then I found the Orbit pick by ZeroGravity. The tether allows me to hold the pick correctly for long periods of time while strumming my acoustic guitar. Diabetes has robbed me of many of the pleasures I used to enjoy, but thanks to the Orbit, playing my guitar is not one of them.

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

This is a great idea, that's what attracted me. However, after only two hours of use on my acoustic the pick was worn to almost a nub. And it left me with a white dusty mess to clean of my guitar. Why not use a pick material that holds up better? I can't recomment this for anyone except the occasional player.

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

I play mountain dulcimer but also suffer from severe arthritis and neuropathy in my right hand. Dropping standard picks due to fatigue or inattention is a real nuisance. This pick has totally eliminated my pick dropping and seems to automatically guide me into proper positioning of the pick in my hand.

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

I wasn't to sure if that rubber ring on the pick would hold up but it has.
Put it on you index finger and pick away, drink your soda or answer the phone and NOT lose your pick. I love it.
2 months of study picking and still looks new.
Value to me is geting the most I can from and item and I'm sure I would have left at lest a half dozen picks at friends houses or can't find them in my house. So keeping one pick is great value to me.

I play coffee house settings and I'm the "token old guy" in a Contemporary Christian Praise Band. I finger pick and up to the time I found the Orbit Pick, I hated guitar picks. I've used dozens of types but this is only one I will use now. It solves all sorts of problems for me. The flexibility of being able to quickly switch from finger picking to a pick is the bottom line for me. I use them with my acoustic guitars and my electric guitars.

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

I bought this specifically because I'm playing the song "Falling Slowly" from the musical/movie "Once" and it switches back and forth between fingerstyle and plectrum rather quickly. Trying to "tuck" a standard pick into my palm (I can't do the standard trick of putting the pick in my mouth because I'm also singing) was not consistently successful, so I figured this pick might allow me to "retain" the pick in my hand with less effort or likelihood of dropping it.

For that, it works wonderfully! It really does put the pick right in my fingertips quickly, aligned with the strings. For design, the manufacturer gets an "A" - on that count, it's just what the doctor ordered.

The problem with it is that the materials used for the pick itself are not right; for one, the pick is very "soft" - while firm, the pick breaks down very easily, and playing hard strumming patterns on an acoustic very quickly wears the pick down. Perhaps more annoyingly, the softness of the pick greatly diminishes the attack and volume of the instrument - playing with a standard pick, followed by this one, the difference is quite profound.

So my "Yes, I would recommend it to a friend" comes with a caveat; while it will perform the specific job I bought it for, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for regular use - its poor materials choice means it will wear out quickly and detract from your sound.

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

I've been playing most of my 62 years and its part of what/who I am.
I suffered a stroke 6 months ago and found that my playing had suffered greatly, (not that it was that great to begian with) to add to the issue I have some real problems holding on to things with my right hand. Dopping the pick every few bars is a real pain. This pick is a real solution that works for me. I can concentrate on learning how to play again, not how to hold on to my pick.

                Thanks

I've broken the thumb on my picking hand a few times. This pick, the red one, did make pick control much finer. My advise to Orbit is to outsource this product to Dunlop. The pick material is far to soft. You might get two sets if you play hard. Also, the claim that it can be used with both hands is a bit misleading. The rubber mounting is biased for a rigth-handed player. I'll try mounting a better pick with Gorilla Glue. Otherwise, you may need 10 to 15 of these every month if you play every day.

I purchased these for my husband. Because of poor range of motion in his wrist & hand due to an accident he has a hard time holding on to smooth picks. He finds that these help tremendously. This is the third time I have ordered them for him. We have not been able to find them else where.

Comments about ZeroGravity Orbit Guitar Pick:

A number of years ago, I found that I could no longer hold a flatpick for long periods - my thumb muscle would cramp. I found this pick and have used it ever since - twice a week I conduct music therapy singalongs and must play for 45 minutes straight.
But the pick wears out fast, the sound is rather dull against the steel strings, and sometimes the tethers rip apart.
This is such a great idea - the green picks they used to make lasted a long time. The red are poor. I wish they would use a quality pick material that did not wear down or crack and that sounded better.
But, I need them, so I just bought 10 packs.

I have peripheral neuropathy resulting from diabetes. I have difficulty holding on to a conventional pick. They either rotate or I drop them due to lack of touch sensation. I stumbled upon these on your web site and they have been a God-send. No more drops - No more turning. If you ever decide to quit stocking these, let me know and I'll buy up what you have.
