This bag actually deserves 4.5 stars. I can't really say anything bad about it other than it's top handle. If you plan to carry it like a back pack then it's not an issue however lets face it, if your going to put about ten cymbals or more in this bag and prefer to use the top handle to carry it, then over time I can see this area of the bag stretching and possibly ripping due to the stress on the single handle. 2 handles instead of one at the top gives this bag 5 stars. This bag has a great design inside and out. You'll love the inner sleeves that help to keep the cymbals from rubbing each other during transport. Also the outside hihat/splash compartment is a great feature and adds the final plus to this bag. Good buy ! get it !

Although the design is tempting...to free your hands in order to carry more gear, SKIP this and invest in a sturdy cymbal vault. First mistake i made...attaching a stick bag to the front where there's a D ring. (this is where you're supposed to attach a stick bag) WRONG. It tore the seam near the top where the zippers meet. I then sewed that back together. Second mistake: thinking the reinforced handle on the top could actually be used to carry this bag. WRONG. Again, the bag tore, exposing my cymbals. 3rd mistake: Trying to now carry this by the backstraps. WRONG! They have now torn away from the pack. Note: i have NOT overloaded this bag. I carry a set of 14" inch sabian hi=hats. A 10" zildian splash, 18" zildian crash, 16" sabian crash, and a 21" zildian ride. There's still plenty room for more cymbals, but this bag simply can not handle the strain of moving from point A to point B. Do not waste your money.

Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Gig Bag:

I bought this bag because I wanted a backpack style cymbal bag, and I trusted the Zildjian name. However, after just a few uses the backpack straps started to fray and tear. Now the bag is almost useless. Don't bother with this bag, spend a little more and make sure you get something that is durable.

      Zildjian I'm Disappointed

Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Gig Bag:

Trusted the Zildjian name to deliver a bag that would last at least 2-3 years without issues developing. I play out ~2-3 NIGHTS per month and have had the bag for just under a year. Last nights gig, I had a second zipper break "off". This isn't the zipper itself that has gone bad, but the "grip" that you use between your thumb and forefinger to close any of the different storage areas. The Zipper seems sturdy, the grip seems nice a bulky, but obviously whatever method is used to marry the two together...not so much. I do NOT have it overstuffed...1 22" Ride, 1 16" crash, 14" crash and a set of 14" hi hats. I like the over the shoulder design, but thats useless if the you can't close the storage areas. Pay more for something sturdier...sorry, but Zildjian should never put their name on this.

Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Gig Bag:

Been a Zildjian user for years. This bag is not very well thought out. It ripped the second time I used it and continues to rip in different areas with each gig. From a manufacturer like Zildjian I was expecting much better quality. Well, can't win 'um all.

Not built well, coming apart after 2 months, weekend warrior, treated gently! Don't buy it!

      By Joe Trojanek

Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Gig Bag:

Had this bag for 2 months with 5 cymbals and a pair of hats, and it's coming apart. Shoulder straps very weak, vinyl tearing, I'm very dissapointed. I treat this bag like iit has $1,500 worth of cymbals in it and it was a waste of money. And of course, I can't return it so I'll buy something better and toss it. Sad. I DO NOT recommend this bag and I am a Zildjian junkie!

This is a review based on experience with two of these bags being purchased. and they both fell apart about 2 to 3months after receiving them. I would suggest another bag if you want to be happy. This bag is sad.

Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Gig Bag:

I have been using this bag for about 6-7 years. It worked fine for about 2-3 years before it started to tear. I still use it but it isn't functional for carring more than 3 or 4 cymbals. now, i only use it to transport the 3 cyms that I use at church. I purchased a cymbal Vault, which is way more sturdy and will carry more cymbals, for playing out with the 3-4 bands that I work with. I would recommend this bag but only for those cats who need to transport LESS than 4-5 cyms. Just not made for more than that. Mine is ripped at the bottom now and the shoulder strap is torn (has been for a long time) and It is time to retire it. (it's getting to be embarrising).. But what do you want for 35 bananas. I am going to buy another one cause this is all I need for church. Good bag for the bread and I have been playing professionally for 52 yrs. !

Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Gig Bag:

I was enticed by this bag's rich feature set - rucksack-style straps, grippy rubber feet, dividers in the main compartment - but the low price of this item should have tipped me off that not all was as it seemed. First, the hi-hat compartment on the front of the bag is completely unpadded. Not ideal. Next, the rucksack straps are thin and poorly padded - not the most comfortable when you're trekking 30 lbs of cymbals. The main compartment dividers are a little thin, which could be forgiven if they went all the way to the bottom. But instead, they end about 2" from the bottom of the bag, so every time you pull a cymbal out the last couple inches scrape against each other. The whole reason I wanted a bag with dividers was because I have a lot of unlathed or partially lathed cymbals which scratch really easily. And this doesn't really cut it. Lastly, the whole bag seems very cursorily constructed. The straps and handle attachments don't inspire confidence. Neither does the hi-hat compartment, which it just kind of tacked on to the outside of the bag. I haven't had it long enough for anything to break, but I don't imagine that this bag will stand up for very long before things start to tear. And I'd hate to be hauling 3 grand worth of cymbals when the handle tears off. You get what you pay for with this bag, which is to say 'not much'. I guess I'll be investing in a better bag.
