The mallets for the price they are make for a great steal when compared to other more expensive 40 or 50 dollar mallets on the market. I use them on my drumset for not only my cymbals, but to get a deep impact on the drums themselves for a cool effect. The actual shaft of the mallet itself is thick
and durable enough to withstand hitting toms which is a big upside to these sticks, however because of that, you also lose a lot of crisp sound when used on cymbals. Only other thing I could say is that they're decent. They don't completely satisfy me when I use them, but the sound they make is alright for the price (as I said before). Buy if you are looking to experiment with different sounds IF this is your first time purchasing mallets, then these are a great buy.
they're mallets. What else could you want from them?
Made of good material, won't break for what they're used for
Great price compared to others out there

As you'd expect from Zildjian, this is a quality made product.

I use them on toms (especially floor) and cymbals. The sticks themselves seem to be very durable, and are roughly the diameter of a 5A, which is also the size I use for regular drum sticks. That makes them feel quite comfortable in my hands.

My main complaint is that I expected the yarn beaters to be much softer, or at least softer than felt. In actuality, they are every bit as hard as felt beaters, if not harder. While this is okay on toms, the attack and release of a roll on stand-mounted cymbals does not sound smooth at all, even when playing lightly. I suppose this wouldn't be as big an issue with suspended cymbals or gongs, but I don't use either, so I really can't say. Perhaps they will "break in" and soften up a bit, or I'll find another method to accomplish that.

        Comments about Zildjian Cymbal Mallets:

These mallets were much heavier than I expected and when used on a cymbal wash the attack is quite quick. I'm used to the cotton swap type mallet with a softer and delayed attack during a wash type roll. I'm happy with my purchase although it will take some getting used to when playing with these.

These mallets sound great on suspended cymbal. They also work really well on marimba and vibraphone. Very inexpensive too. I'd highly recommend purchasing them.
