Fantastic buy. I had the Lanikai LU-21TE as my first uke. It was so bad compared to this. I returned it, read many more reviews for ukes in this price range and decided on this Cordoba. When it got here I was so happy because it feels like a real instrument whereas the Lanikai feels like a cheap toy. Other areas this excels where the Lanikai didn't: stays in tune much better, electronics much better, gig bag included (pretty nice too), louder dispite the cutaway, and looks better
Can't ask for much more except for it to come with an optional low G in the gig bag. Binding to protect the edging would have been a nice touch as well. This instrument feels solid, had great action out of the box, stays in tune nicely, electronics work very well unlike many ukes, and the gig bag was the cherry on top. Only downside is you won't want to hand it to a little kid to play with so hide it when they're around
    Very well made. Near flawless.
for what you get, its a very fair price. esp if you buy it with a random special they have going on

I have to believe that the only reason that this uke is getting 5 stars is because it is someone's first uke. I've had my 20TM-CE for about a year now. The best thing I can say about it is that it is durable. Regardless of what brand of strings I use on this, I continue to get a thin sound out of it. I have replaced the saddle with bone, tried Aquila, GHS, Martin, Pahoehoe, and this thing still sounds weak. I bought 2 concert Ohana's for my daughters; they project better and the sound is more full. I was 1 month into this one and wished I had bought a Ohana tenor. Save your bucks and get something better.
Nice tuners. I prefer the geared tuners this has as opposed to friction tuners. Nice rosette around the soundhole (if it is a sticker, I can't tell) and the bridge and fretboard are nicely finished.
It's durable. Ummmm, yeah...and it's durable. Did I mention it was pretty durable? OK, it's not a total POS but I think the soundboard is the same thickness as their guitars. No projection, no timbre. If you measure a portion of quality by an instrument's sound, you will be sorely disappointed.
NOT a great value! It is made well, but I can get a uke that sounds like this for half the price.

    Great Uke

    By Peter Brenia

    from Hampshire, IL

Comments about Cordoba 20TM-CE Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:

Recent trip to Hawaii inspired me to want a Uke. I enjoy plugging into my mixerbox, playing, signing and recording- so electric was for me. Having purchased a Cordoba electric classical just 4 months ago from Musicians, friend I decided on the Cordoba 20TM-CE. Beautiful finish, fingerboard and soundhole design. Electonics very good, nut a touch off center, but no problem. I love the sound of this Uke, plays with very good tone, solid mahogany top adds to the resonance. Dealmakers for me: great customer service of both Cordoba and Musicians Friend, 12% discount, free shipping, Aquila strings and great padded gig bag included. I love my Cordoba Uke.

    Forte555

Comments about Cordoba 20TM-CE Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:

Outstanding. Affordable for all my students.
I started a ukulele choir in our school (stop laughing, the kids love it) and was trying out several varieties. We need several different kinds to attain a decent Uke choir sound, but when I tested the 20TM-CE I fell in love. This has turned into my everyday work horse and I would not give it up. It stays in tune and has a full rich sound. The electrics allow me to play over the rest of the group when I'm showing new techniques and is true all the way up the fret board.
I've never played the $2000.00 plus ukes, but would be very interested as to how they could be better.
If you're looking for an instrument to perform on stage, you can't beat the price.

    Sweet Sounds of Portugal

    By Ronald Partridge

    from Plymouth, MA

Comments about Cordoba 20TM-CE Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:

I could not be more pleased with my purchase. I have been playing the Uke for about 6 months and wanted a good quality instrument. The Cordoba has received many good reviews and now I know why. The gig bag is nicely made, too.
This is my 4th Ukulele, but this is far and away the nicest sounding Uke I've ever heard. The soundboard is solid mahogany and the pickup works fine. The workmanship and finish is outstanding. I played all last night. I needed an electric Uke to play out with and this one is perfect for that purpose.
Fit and finish is remarkable. Auila strings included!
I bought this Ukulele used-condition B, but I can't find a mark on it! What a great deal.

    Great tenor uke!

    By HawaiiUke

    from NY, NY

Comments about Cordoba 20TM-CE Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:

I got this at the Guitar Center and thought I'd help other people out by writing a review. I've been playing the uke for about half a year now and started with a Lanikai soprano (a great starter for sure). Looking to upgrade to a tenor or concert uke, I found this one. I love that it's both an electric and acoustic. The sound is great on both. The mahogany feel is smooth. The instrument is well-made, and I really couldn't find any fault with it. It also came with a case for free (I don't know if the website give you a free case though).

Great sound, great feel, great value

    By G-lenn

    from Ithaca, NY

Comments about Cordoba 20TM-CE Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:

This was an upgrade from a Kala concert (laminated) uke that didn't have a pickup. The Cordoba is much easier to play (distance between frets and strings make it more playable) and it sounds juicier. The pickup is pretty good and certainly more convenient than using an instrument mic if you record or play out (debatable if it's higher quality though). The cut-out isn't something I utilize much as I'm an amateur and don't spend much time above the first 5 frets, but I do think it looks cool and it does help to get your hand in the right place should you want to do so. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this uke to anyone. Stick with the nylgut strings though... the sound is much nicer than standard nylon.

Comments about Cordoba 20TM-CE Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:

I play banjo[4&5string]guitar, mandolin etc.I've owned & played lots of ukes over the years. Have been looking at a lot of tenor ukes latly that were disappointing for my price range. The uke came as I was leaving for gig soI only had time for a quick look. I was delighted with general appearance & workmanship. Couldn't wait to get home & was up half the night, Tuning, playing & admiring. The action,& intonation are right on. Beautiful tone with or with out electronics. I highly recommend it.
