Solid tone woods, ebony fingerboard, and superb craftsmanship.

The American Series Tenor Ukulele displays the style and craftsmanship that Breedlove is famous for. This fine instrument is made of a solid sitka spruce top with solid sapele back and sides that produce a bright, crisp tone, perfect for performance. The American Series Tenor is also delightfully playable with its ebony fingerboard and 17" scale. Other refinements include black binding, an ebony bridge, and chrome tuners. Includes case.

Great "Mainland" Uke with Breedlove Quality

Comments about Breedlove American Series Tenor Ukulele:

Let me say 1st, that I am not an expert on acoustic instruments. Most of my gear is solid body. That said, this is a very nice uke. I do own an all Koa Ko'olau uke and when comparing the two, this is much brighter and does not have the same bottom fullness. The volume is equal to or perhaps even slightly louder than the Ko'olau but I missed the fullness ( I use it for mostly chording). I was unhappy with the tension and brightness of the stock strings so I changed to Ko'olau Mahana ( wound 3rd & 4th). Its like the sound suddenly opened up. Now, I have the fullness in chords with good volume and softer tension. I can always go back to the stock strings if I want the original tone, but this uke with the Ko'olau strings is a great combo.
You can see all the specs in the M.F. description. The only change I would have made is a better quality closed gear tuner... I guess they were going for a "classic" style vibe. Excellent hard case with large Breedlove logo on top.
You would expect superior quailty and craftsmanship from Breedlove and thats what you get. Well dressed frets and literally no imperfections of any kind.
this is a little pricy but, as they say, you get what you pay for...
