Spalted mango creates a desirable tenor ukulele with a breathtaking appearance.

This dynamic Lanikai SM-T ukulele with its beautiful appearance will certainly turn heads at your next jam session. The solid spalted mango wood allows for heavy strumming with the balance needed for delicate fingerstyle playing. Rounding off this gem of a tenor ukulele are the gold-plated Kluson-style tuning machines that ensure long hours of stress-free playing.

The tenor ukulele body offers deep tone, with a bolder projection in a slightly larger-bodied instrument. Ready for the stage, the sound is ideal for melodic finger movements or rhythmic strumming, and the uke's size lets you take it wherever you feel inspired to play. The beautiful spalted mango body offers tremendous beauty, with a lovely tone that's full and balanced. The tenor uke's 17-1/2" scale provides smooth, comfortable access all along the instrument's 19 frets. The tenor ukulele's strong mahogany neck adds strength to the instrument's construction, while the sturdy ebony bridge and fingerboard complement each note's sustain and decay.

Dressed with a natural gloss finish and featuring gold-plated hardware, this tenor ukulele is a model of easy playability. If you've never played ukulele before, get ready for a world of fun. The Lanikai SM-T ukulele is an addicting instrument that can and will be taken everywhere.

Comments about Lanikai SM-T Solid Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele:

Mine at least, is very pretty. I was not expecting quite the degree of "figure". This is some seriously lovely spalted wood. SOLID wood, which was a surprise and which will matter as time goes along and the instrument wears in. Not just the top, but back and sides also, all nicely bookmatched solid wood. Mango is a fairly dense wood so the sound is quite bright.Think maple or walnut bright. The fretwork is finished well and the nut is cut properly, action is good, enclosed tuners seem quite adequate. It has pretty good sustain, (for a uke) but isn't as loud as others I have or have played and I think is to do with the properties of the mango wood. The sound is punchy and the notes are clear and distinct. It, (like maple acoustic guitars), records very well as it doesn't get mushy and cuts through a mix nicely. For the money this is a great value.

Comments about Lanikai SM-T Solid Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele:

I purchase this uku SM-T Lanikia Last Feb. 2012 at Solo guitar shop in San Francisco. I like it very much the workmanship was attractive for small instrument ,I love it the sound, finger picking, the back and front to neck are solid and all so side of the art, but the tuning peg on G the top peg kind of loose and the E peg key are loose now just a little by little something wrong with it i try to open is window the should be lower tone ,what's happening is the tone get high instead of low it's get high kind i thing is the needle peg is bend because of wired, the sound still good. What should I do when back to Solo guitar store i they do not want to any thing.

Really a good deal on a unique looking and great sounding instrument,
It's an acoustic ukulele, and it stays in tune. What other features would you want?
Really wel built - clean edges, no visible glue residue, well-matched woods.
Well made and nice looking at a reasonable price.

Really good sound but poorly made

Comments about Lanikai SM-T Solid Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele:

I got this uke about a month ago and when i got it, it was perfect. the sound of this uke is incredible. but as time went on, i started noticing the creases started to appear in the lacquer. I thought it might be fine but it started to get really bad. I ordered it through my local guitar shop and talked to him and he order a replacement for it. when i came in, he noticed the same problem. now i am sending both of them back. We are thinking that it is just a problem with the wood. I recommend this uke at your own risk.
