      Awsome Quality for price

      By Richard Waters

Comments about Mahalo U-320T Deluxe Tenor Ukulele:

Sounds great and fairly easy to play. Did buy a Soprano at first and had to send it back at the fret spacing was too close for my fingers. The Tenor is much easier to play, but still which the spacing for the stings was a little more as I have some arthritis in my fingers and it is hard to get some clear tones on certain chords.
Am a beginner and not looking for something expensive to start with and the Maholo fits the ticket.
Not a lot of fancy inlays but well finished and looks like a finished product, not massed produced.
      Great value for the price.

      Deluxe Tenor Ukulele (U-320T)

Comments about Mahalo U-320T Deluxe Tenor Ukulele:

I would recommend this to anyone.
      It's a beauty.
The Ukulele is great, the strings, not so much. But strings are inexpensive to replace.
      Great quality for the price.

Bright, Clear Tone at a Very Modest Price

      By Donald Knott

      from California

Comments about Mahalo U-320T Deluxe Tenor Ukulele:

I bought this uke after having already purchase Mahalo's pineapple-shaped Soprano and discovered that although I liked the tone, my fingers were too big to hit certain chords easily (I have never been able to do a half-barre cleanly and must use three fingers to hit the chokes for uke D and E). The longer scale and slightly wider neck of the tenor solved that problem nicely. What I didn't anticipate was the fact that the longer scale, coupled with a heavier gauge string requires a higher string tension to make it to pitch. Not a high enough tension to interfere with comfortable action, but just enough to give the tenor a bright, punchy tone that I really like.
Keeping in mind that this is a mass produced Chinese commodity grade instrument intended for the casual player it is hard not to be pleased. Yes, I would prefer machine tuners, but that would raise the price. I would prefer a classical guitar style bridge rather than the slots and knots style. Same problem, more costly to make. The important things are all there; decent action, decent intonation and a good clear voice.
This is a sparely appointed basic instrument made of mahogany ply. There is no binding, the "rosette" is a decal, the fretboard position markers at 5, 7 and 10 are synthetic mother-of-pearl. The friction tuners are Mahalo's own tuners. They work, though they will probably need a gentle tightening of the screws to hold their tuning. Those used to geared tuners will need a little practice to learn how to hit the pitch dead on. The neck is smooth and well shaped. The join to the headstock is clean and symmetrical. The fingerboard is rosewood, smoothly finished. The frets are well dressed. I detect no buzzes, or snaggy ends on mine. The strings settled down in due time and hold their tuning well. The bridge itself seems a little less than smoothly finished, call it a dull matte, but as no strings have broken or pulled through it seems to have been done smoothly enough . The best features on this instrument are the Nubone nut and compensated bridge saddle.
The bridge, as mentioned above seemed a little dull-finished, but was the only obvious flaw on the outside of the instrument. Looking through the sound hole the heel block seem to be somewhat roughly cut as well. The tone is bright, and ringing and will carry well in most casual acoustic settings.
This uke is a very good value for very little money. You get a smooth neck and fingerboard. You get reasonable intonation. You don't get abalone inlay or a super-fine finish. You would have to pay significantly more in order to see or hear any noticeable difference.
