65amps

An extremely portable head that maintains boutique quality and loads of extras.

The Ventura, part of 65amps' “Working Pro” Red Line, is a response to the over-saturation of “Lunch Box” type amps in the market that are lacking in quality for professional players. The Ventura illustrates that a compact, portable amp can be combined with high-level, professional functionality. The Ventura is made in 65amps’ factory in Los Angeles utilizing the same high-level materials and engineering experience as always.

The Ventura uses a 2-6V6 power section and front end utilizing 65amps’ most popular circuits, The Color channel of the London and the Bump Circuit of the SoHo. This allows the Ventura to create a rich palette of American and British tones all with the signature flair that has made 65amps a major presence on top-level tours and recording studios around the world.

All Red Line 65amps feature:
American-Made, High-Grade Transformers Made in Chicago – Using high-grade M6 steel and pure copper windings 65amps Redline transformers will deliver beautiful, clear vintage tone that is not available using non-US steel.

SoZo Capacitors – For the most musical and detailed response from your amplifier. SoZos are the most musical, consistent and complete sounding capacitors on the market. Made to the highest standards in the USA.

Aluminum Chassis – All of 65smps' chassis are made from high-grade aluminum here in Los Angeles. This quality of chassis is the best we’ve found for grounding quietly, shielding against 21st century RF sources that are everywhere, and the ruggedness required for working professionals.

Authentic Allen-Bradley Carbon Comp resistors where it counts – In the signal path of all 65amps are the best sounding resistors known: Allen-Bradley Carbon Comps. Renown for decades as the “magic” part required for getting “that” sound, the Allen-Bradley resistor is an unparalleled finishing touch for your tone. All other resistors are 1% tolerance mil-spec parts made in the Americas that ensure that your amp will always be performing at peak potential and always be safe.

Comments about 65amps The Ventura 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This is a great amp. Period. I've long been interested in 65 amps- a few great player friends have recommended them, and I've also noticed them on the stages of my favorite players...Elvis Costello, Sheryll Crowe, Rich Robinson....

I play a lot in the SF /Bay area. Stage volume is always an issue, and I love playing low watt amps for the great tone to be had at low volumes. With 65 amps, they have. Great feature of a master voltage level- which can turn the 22 watt amp down to an 8 watt amp- and not have a decrease in tone.

With this amp, I hardly use any OD pedals....Also, this amp has a butter smooth effects loop. The amp just sings. Basically run all the tone thru your guitar volume and you're set. I should probably say I'm a roots type player. If metal and all is your bag, look elsewhere.

Comments about 65amps The Ventura 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I'll be to the point. This amp was very disappointing. I'm able to compare this amp to a Fargen Mini Plex MKII, Matchless Avalon and Tone King Metropolitan. I purchased this amp based on alot of fandom with 65 amps and the sound clips I've heard on line. What I found with this amp is it really doesn't have much gain and with the gain turned up it is harsh. I also found the 'Bump' switch to sound bad.. it doesn't add gain but just makes the amp sound thin. Clean had a good sound. Actually this amp reminds me more of the Matchless Avalon ( a basically clean amp) when I was hoping for more of the Fargen Mini Plex MKII ballpark. Speaking of .. if your looking at this I highly, highly recommend the Fargen. That is a magical sounding amp and is what made me want to try a 65amps head.

This is pound for pound the best amp you can buy. Low price and EXTREMELY high quality. The best sourced components. The tones are so clear, even the dirty side has great note seperation. It's inspiring to play and write with. I probably will only buy from 65 Amps from now on. They have some new stuff I'm really excited about coming too! Just get this amp and stop thinking about it.

Comments about 65amps The Ventura 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This really is a steal for the money. I opened up my amp and looked at the the work inside, amazing! This amp will make you play different, it becomes part of you, (I mean that)If you learn to use your guitars volume control, with the amps two channels and bump features(foot switchable) you can do just about any gig (except metal, well metal with a pedal). The first channel is very mellow and less bright than channel two. With that said add the bump to channel one and it gets more Marshall and aggressive. Channel two is more volume and more aggressive (Marshall to my ear)This is my favorite channel, from clean to dirt. this channel is all I'll ever need. The master voltage works great, so much better then a master volume IMHO. This amp is going up in price so grab it now I think it's a winner for everything except metal.
