OVERVIEW

Faithfully amplifies your guitar's sound in smaller venues.

The AG60 acoustic guitar amp is capable of handling up to four inputs, making it perfect for performing singer-songwriters, duos, or groups looking for an easy and great-sounding way to amplify multiple instruments and voices without having to cart around multiple pieces of gear.

The AG60 is designed to maximize projection, with its angled-up wedge shape. For warm, full-frequency sound, the cabinet features 2 - 8" studio monitor-style speakers for soft mid and low-frequency response and a coaxial tweeter for ultra-clear, sparkling high end. Channels 1 & 2 each feature two combination inputs which both accept a 1/4'" unbalanced or XLR balanced input, so you can plug in a variety of instrument/microphone combinations. Input level controls accommodate a variety of level needs, and peak indicators warn you when your signal is getting too hot. Three-band EQs with sweepable midrange on each channel make it easy to get a solid instrument tone on one and clear vocal sound on the other.

Also included on each channel is a selectable effects unit with 16 possible effects, including reverbs, delays, and choruses. Additionally, the rear panel has an effects loop for using external effects units with or without the built-in choices. A master input gives you greater control over your tone and output when used in conjunction with the input gain knobs.

For quiet playing, there's an 1/8" stereo headphone jack, and for pre-recorded accompaniment, there's an 1/8" stereo aux input. Finally, rear-panel balanced or unbalanced line outs with independent level control afford you more control when you send your signal to a live sound PA or recording console. The AG60 is a full-featured amp, with plenty of power to handle any venue, and a wide array of tone-shaping options that will give your instrument and voice the exact care they deserve.

Get it you'll love it
I'm basically putting the whole review in the features section. Absolutely great sounding, incredibly versatile amp. I've owned several acoustic amps, electric amps, all kinds of amps includiing the old Behringer acoustic amp- the ACX1000. What a nice looking piece of junk ! I won't even try to describe the problems I had with it. Then I went to a PA great sound of course but a real pain to lug around and setup and frankly overkill for the kind of gigs I do. I got this amp today plugged in a Yamaha A/E, a strat I built myself. a mic and a CD player. Everything sounded GREAT! I don't say that very often about audio gear because as I said I've owned a lot of it some good and more than I want to admit I was disappointed or frustrated with. My strat sounded almost as good as when plugged into my tube amp, not kidding. I was shocked. The CD sound was amazing, I didn't expect it to be that good. Instantly put a smile on my face. Feedback(not from the CD) was very easy to dial out and I was sitting right next to the amp! Plenty of volume and a really rich full tone. My acoustic has a body and a chime to it that I never heard before. Again put a big smile on my face. They say this thing has something called "Fast Tone" technology and I now believe it. I cant wait for my friend to come by plug in his banjo and guitar and mic. I think we'll make money with this amp. I used a Zoom G2 pedal for the strat and a A2 for the acoustic and the damn thing sounded even better! Something very unusual in my experience. This amp must have very high quality preamps. Some people have commented that it's not loud enough. They must be deaf or whatever insturment they're plugging in has output problems. The minute I plugged a mic in and starting singing my old lady said "You sound great". I frankly hadn't heard that for a while it's usually "Could you turn that down a little". I used a little echo/reverb on the vocals and was impressed by myself. The Behringer amp mic channels for instance sounded like crap with uncontrollable feedback, low output and nothing but digital noise on the effects. I love this amp!!

Unpacking the thing, right away I noticed just how heavy it is for such a small form factor. It does look great.
WHATS BAD:
The individual channel input volumes will easily peak out at less then 1/2 way up.(Not much headroom there.)
I don't know if it is the digital effects or just the amp itself but the whole thing is noisy when it's idling.
The XLR outs to board are noisier yet.
At 60 watts I was expecting much much more volume.
It doesn't have a tweeter so trying to get that "sparkle" is really tough.
The effects loop outputs "both" channels.
WHATS GOOD:
Has 4 inputs.
Slant back cabinet.
WILL I KEEP IT?
Undecided as yet.Have another rehearsal tomorrow. It will be the telling.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Other than hitting a raffle ticket this is probably the best deal I ever got. It has warm, rich sound for my guitar and when I sing into my mic I sound much better than I should. lol. Everything functions better than I expected. Sounds better than I expected and when people say its to heavy I would say its normal in weight for what you get. Very well build and with alot, I mean alot of features that are so easy to use even I can do it. MF is always great to deal with and the whole experience once again could not have been better. Thank you mf for your help.It made my decision easy and the great product and service was well worth it.

Normally play electric but wanted an inexpensive acoustic amp for music room. Perfect MF sale price. Was surprised at the sound quality for the price. Amp is 58 pounds so I wouldn't want to carry it around.

I bought this to use with my acoustic guitar and most of the time I use it in small venues like churches. It is one of the greatest sounding amps that I've ever played through!!!! It was also a steal because it was on closeout for a great price! Kudos to Musicians Friend a company that has great service and quality equipment!!!!

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is OUTSTANDING! I use it for small performances and home recording and it exceeds my expectations for both uses . I would encourage you to think of it as 2 individual two channel acoustic amps combined rather than a stereo amp. Seriously, I run a Jazz bass, an acoustic guitar, an electric, a synth, and a mic together with no issues for performance, and this amp provides a level adjustable output to send to a house PA or to my computer for recording. If you have been looking for a way to record many instruments at once or use a variety of instruments on stage this amp is a great decision. Do not hesitate to purchase, it's worth twice the price. NOTE TO MUSICIANS FRIEND: Thanks for providing an affordable, quality product that compliments a working person's budget. There is a lot of musical equipment out there that I will never be able to afford in my lifetime and I always thought an amp of this quality was one of them. Y'all make it possible to achieve musical equipment dreams! THANK YOU

Picked this up on what was obviously a clearance type sale. Believe this model is being discontinued, but can't help but wonder what it will be replaced with. Easy to use, plenty of power for the venue I'm playing in. Love the multiple inputs (2 per channel). Enables me to avoid bussing for multiple instruments.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp sounds amazing with tons of warmth. I am an active musician and play about 120 gigs a year, sometimes my Grandson plays with me and now I don't need a second amp for him. With two instrument and two mic inputs it's perfect. I have owned many acoustic amps and usually the guitar might sound OK but less than pleasing vocals, this amp sounds great on both with plenty of usable effects. The fact that it's knob turning suits me fine, I'm old school and like simplicity. The cabinet shape allowing for tilt back is perfect for live performances, usually sits just behind me. Before I purchased this amp I read every review, many commented that it was bulky, heavy, and not loud enough. I can say that it has plenty of power although the clip light does blink often. It is not bulky at all in my opinion and although it says 58 LBS. I weighed mine with a digital scale (for suit cases) and it's only 38 1/2 LBS. not really that bad. I don't know if there was a change in cabinet or what, I called Acoustic on this and they were unaware of the weight discrepancy, in this case, for me, less is more. Buy this amp, I love it, I'm sure you will too.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Between the EQ and the easily dialed effects it's simple to dial in a desired sound. This amp is perfect for amplifying that acoustic sound while maintaining the warmth and richness of your guitar. This is NOT the amp for multiple styles on the fly. That is, you can't switch from a warm rhythm to a screaming lead without an external pedal or effects for there is no foot switch or a/b channel button. It IS the perfect acoustic amp if you have, for example, an Epi Ultra III and want to send your acoustic pickup to a separate amp. When not in use, the AG60 is ultra quiet. Finally, having a separate volume control for your output to a board or house system is great when you want to monitor your playing; you can adjust your monitor level without affecting the house mix. This all is perfect for what it does. It will not replace your Rockin' electric guitar amp,but it will be your best acoustic amp for the money.
