OVERVIEW

A seriously powerful amp for serious bassists.

The Acoustic B100 combo is designed for club and live applications where the sound of its 15" bass driver will fill the room with warmth and punch. It pumps 100 watts RMS into the internal speaker, delivering the classic Acoustic pro's tone in a portable, powerful design.

The 2 bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete authority over the character of your tone. Increase the Gain for some old-school rock tones or lower it and turn up the volume for great, clean classic or funk tones. The preamp includes a very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical”even at high volume levels.

The B100 also includes a notch filter to tailor your mids and a 4-band EQ that provides total control over your tone. The parallel Effects Loop allows you to use your bass effects in the signal chain, or you can use the Effect Send as a Line Out to a recording or live mixing board. The series extension speaker jack provides an output for an additional cabinet such as the Acoustic B115 or B410.

The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B100.

I put this amp through a ton, and it hasn't failed me yet, and doesn't look like it's going to any time soon, either. Running an American Special Jazz Bass through it, I can get anything from a clean, singing tone like John Paul Jones on Ramble On, all the way up to a Duff McKagan-like growl for Welcome to the Jungle, and everything in between. Absolutely fantastic amp.
Relatively basic amp overall. I run a Boss ME-50B between mine and my Fender American Special Jazz Bass, and the options really open up. I like the adaptability of the 4-channel EQ, which gives you plenty of tonal choices without too much complexity. The gain is absolutely lovely, and the notch filter is a great way to put a shift on your tone without mucking with your settings.
I've been running this amp for over two years now, and I've never had any sort of an issue with it. I put it though a lot, too. It's fallen out of the van onto concrete, landing face down, and played perfectly five minutes later.
Absolute best bass amp you will find for the money. You just don't find this kind of power and tone for $250. Phenominal value.

Purchased the B100 out of necessity for a practice amp. My Fender Musicmaster Bass Amp I purchased in 1968 started breaking up on me. I have an Accoustic 360 I used to use for live gigs years ago, but seems a bit impracticle to use to practice at home. No surprises here. Accoustics quality is right on for this small amp as it is in the 360. Was taken aback at this little amps' weight, but can't complain after hearing how clear and loud it can go without distorting. The EQ allows you to alter the sound to your liking and it gives you quite a good range to play around with. Would have liked to have seen a headphone jack though. All in all, this a great purchase for the price. The quality and built is outstanding. Would 100% recommend purchasing it.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

This amp provides the power and the sound that will fill the clubs and the small halls. It has a wonderful EQ system that can peak and tweak for the best sound. The 15 inch driver can handle what ever you throw at it. I can also plug my single 10 inch bass cabinet into the external speaker jack to expand the sonic aura even further. Now, granted, you'll not fill a stadium with it, but for most local venues this little amp will definitely fit the bill. It will definitely keep up with the rest of the band.
This amp has more and better features than amps costing twice as much. The EQ system allows for fine tuning any room.

does what it's supposed to do

    By Andrew Perkins

    from South Carolina

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

The amp does very well for its price range and build.

The controls are straight-forward (except for the knotch) and easy to use - no surprises. I'd recommend using the ACTIVE input when practicing at home or recording (even if you have a PASSIVE bass) because the PASSIVE input tends to decrease the amount of dynamic playing which can be attained with this amp.

I play with a PASSIVE Ibanez 4 string Soundgear and a multi-effect pedal which is set-up for simple effects in the effects loop. I can tell you that I am completely satisfied with this purchase thus far.
The features are right for this level of amplifier. If you need more control over the tone, get a higher level amp. If you need the effects and such, get a different amp or add effects via the effects loop.

The clipping indicator indicates when you have REALLY pushed this amp harder than for which it's designed.

As others have previously stated, there is really no reason for the notch filter on this amplifier - the only discernible difference is heard when the knob is between 12 and 2.
For the price - it cannot be beat, even when it comes to quality. The amp is built very well for its price range.

If you intend on maxing this amp out, don't bother buying it - at volumes above 6 or 7 (of 10) it sounds like a really cheap amp. Play it at a lower volume or at least adjust the low down to reduce the muddiness at higher volumes.

If you're like me, you want an amp that allows you to practice at a reasonable volume with a band but don't need to play arenas or large venues (larger gigs will either require your band's own PA or they will have one set up in house).
For the price it cannot be beat.

Well, I have had this amp for about 3 months now. My band jams at least once a week, and we have played a gig. This is plenty loud, both of the guitarists in my band have 150 watt amps and I have to "turn it down". Hope this helps you decide on what amp to buy, I am very happy with mine.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

This amp is well built and heavy. The 4 band eq, notch filter, and gain control is all you need. The speaker sounds real good and this amps is plenty loud! I checked out every amp in this price range and a little higher and this one was the best. Don't let the low price fool you! I don't understand how they can sell these for this low but I'm not complaining at all. Just buy this and you wont be disapointed!

Great value and excellent jazz tone

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I bought this as a cheap backup to my GK MB150S. However, it's now going to be my primary amp for electric bass when I don't need the portability of the GK (which I can easily carry for blocks and up stairs). It took a while to dial in a good jazz tone but once found it sounds good with my upright and simply amazing with my fretless Jazz! It delivers plenty of low end punch while retaining enough of the highs for the instrument's tone to really come through. My settings: Gain 12:00, Frequency 11:00, Low 1:00, Lo-Mid 10:00, Hi-Mid 9:00, High 11:00 (for upright I raise the Hi-Mid to 10:00). It has plenty of volume for jazz gigs with drums, although it's not as loud as the GK (which is 90W through the internal speaker) presumably because of the 15" speaker.
For the price, the features are great. The only things missing that I would ever use are an XLR line out and a headphone jack.
I've not gigged with it yet, but the knobs, jacks, and cabinet all seem solid. Even the shipping container showed attention to design.
    An outrageously good buy.

    Wonderful!

    By Ben Eckerson

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I bought the Acoustic B100 as my first bass amp, primarily to jam with my band. Being new to the whole idea of an amp (I had been using an old subwoofer for over a year), I looked for a cheap, powerful amp to get me through practice and for small venues. After 6 months (and a /lot/ more experience with amps, basses, etc), I can still say this is one of the best amps I have played on. I play with 2 other guitarists and drummer and I can still cut through the mix (though at venues (<150 people) I must crank it to ~75%).

So, recap. If you are jamming, practicing, or playing in smaller venues, this amp is GREAT! Churches, concerts, jamming, solo practicing, this guy's got you covered. You need an amp? Play on this sucker. I guarantee you wont be disappointed.
This amp really has most of what bassists in smaller bands would need: Basic EQ, external speaker, passive/active inputs, etc. Only reason it doesnt get a 10 is it doesnt have an XLR out.
While it sounds great (seriously, one of the best amps I have played. You like old school sound? get this one), the head's knobs are terrific. I have owned this amp for about 6months and I have already lost the gain knob (just the cover for it, i can still turn it) and part of another knob. The amp still works great, but it may not be the best choice if you are going to be lugging it around a lot or subjecting it to a lot of punishment.
This really is the little amp that could. In my opinion, you cannot get any other amp to sound this good for the price. By paying so little, you are not sacrificing ANY sound quality. You like the Motown sound but dont exactly have any money? Give this a shot.

First, I love the fact that the B100 is affordable and sounds great at the same time. This combo amp is powerful and in a 1500 sq ft room, the gain and volume level is at about 10 o'clock. The EQ is simple and easy to use. I love the sound. It's smooth and clear.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I have used this amp at a few gigs and, the tone was ok but, you are limited to basically one tone if you are actually playing in a band so that the bass notes can actually be heard, as opposed to just hearing a sort of bass! The few gigs I did with it I had to have everything to the max and I do not play in a loud band!
The Features on this combo are ok for what it is.
I found the amp lacking when pushed in the volume department. I was hoping for a bit more....oh well....what can I expect when I buy a cheap amp. I should have gone for, at least, the 200w head. Here is a tip...always buy more power than you thing you need.
If you are looking for a practice amp or you only play in quite small venues, this amp is ok.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I have been a guitar player and drummer for almost 30 years and in an effort to start gigging again and the inability to find a reliable bass player, have switched over to bass to complete the group. I did not want spend alot on a rig as i have alot invested in my other equipment especially just picking up the bass. I was completely blown away when the amp arrived. The feel of the knobs, jacks, handles tolex is top notch. The sound is the real kicker though. I have been exposed to every kind of bass rig out there and i can honestly say i have not heard better tone out of any combo than this. I have enough volume to keep up with my drummer and guitar player (and they are loud) in fact i had to back down the first time we used it. the flexibility of the amp is awesome but what i was most impressed with is its response to the volume and tone controls on my bass. I can set the amp and leave it and just adjust the tone with the bass to get any sound i want on the fly. This amp also accepts pedals well. Even though i think it is the best deal out there you dont have to feel you bought it because it was the best for the money as i see in so many reviews. This is a great amp even if it was 2 or 3 times more.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

This amp absolutely destroys any other amp within $200 dollars of its price. Obviously it's no SWR Redhead or Ampeg stack, but unless you need godlike levels of tone and volume, buy this beefy little combo!
It basically has everything you need and nothing you don't. Not much to elaborate on here. It's very loud, the speaker's freaking huge after all. I just gigged with it and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any bassist on a budget.
No flaws in playability or appearance, and built with very solid construction (It's HEAVY lol). I'm no expert on tone, but it's just as good or better than any other solid state amp I've played with. I've borrowed a 100 watt Roland cube many times and I highly prefer my B100 over the Roland. Plus the B100 is louder, better sounding, and less expensive.
      It's a bang-for-the-buck amp. 'Nuff said.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I bought this amp to leave to leave at church for use with our Praise Team. It has a nice deep bass tone and everyone commented on how good it sounded. By using the recommended settings from the user manual as a starting point, I was able to dial up a sweet tone in just a few minutes. The overall finish of the amp looks good. The grill cloth is a little light duty but it looks good. The light blue trim gives the amp a cool vintage vibe. The power output is about what I expected from a 100 watt bass combo and the amp is plenty loud enough for small to medium venues. If you're planning on playing loud rock or metal, then you'll need at least the 200 watt combo. Which is exactly what I did - I liked the little 100 watt combo so much, I ordered the 200 watt 410 half stack to use in my Christian rock band.If you're needing a good solid bass amp at a good price - buy it - you'll like it.

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I purchased this 15in Combo about 4 months ago, and it still sounds brand new! The features on this amp are really good for a combo, it even has gain and frequency!(somewhat uncommon on bass amps)And the included instruction manual can help newbies with the right equalization setting to find the sound they are looking for.The overall power of this amp is also astonishing, when practicing with the band I usuals only have the gain at 3 and the volume at 4! And I had the neighbors complaining with only gain 8 and volume 6.5!The build quality of this thing is certainly another plus, the grille is nice and thick. It is encased in a very think plastic all the way around, although its is little thinner in the back. The handle is also very nice and comfortable. The complaint I would have for this is that there is no side handle to make the carrying even easier. Although, in the back there is a little overhang(covering the effects send/external speaker ports)that works almost equally well.Overall this is a wonderful amp and you will not be disappointed at all!

Comments about Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I give it an 8 out of ten, simply because it is a bit overrated. If you read some of the other reviews and even the mabufacturer's description, they would lead you to believe that this is an amp that can be gigged. It is oviously not. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great for what it is....100 watts, but on a stage with a band, no one would hear you.
I am happy with the purchase, I bought it for rehearsal and it works great for that.
Got this for rehearsal thinking that 100 watts would be good in a small room with an electronic drum kit.
It worked out well, I was able to conjour up a good tone at a reasonable volume.
I have to say I really like the amp for how I use it, however, it will not work on stage, it is simply way too underpowered for that.
Of course I have other amplification for that purpose.
Good quality, looks, sound, no frills.
For what I paid it is a great bang for the buck..

I had a SWR WorkingPro 15 that I got for cheap used, but it got stolen. I needed something fast and cheap. This amp exceeded my expectations. I got it on sale here for next to nothing. Overall, I probably prefer it over the SWR - its a little smaller and lighter, plenty loud, and sounds great. Sure, thhe SWR was a bit nicer, but for me, not nicer enough to be 3x the price, which is exactly why I bought this amp. And I'm totally happy with this purchase. I'm totally happy with the sound and volume of the amp. This thing has some great features like an FX loop and a 4 band EQ with a notch filter. I can use the FX loop as a DI.
This thing reminds me a lot of an Ampeg BA115 that I used for a bit, but again for a lot less dough.
