Before purchase, I read every single review of bass amps in 10W & 15W sizes, plus many reviews of larger amps. I finally settled on this amp. After owning & using the B15 amp for 2 months, I'm GLAD I chose this. The switches & knobs are excellent. The sound quality is excellent. I use it for practice both with my Fender JP90 & my Ibanez SR406. Both sound great through this amp. The overdrive is great, allowing me to go anywhere from sweet & clean to raw & dirty. The volume at 1/2 scale is enough to shake my home - and, it still sounds good that way. The cabinet is very sturdy, and the strap seems both convenient & durable. The appearance is attractive, the layout of controls is excellent, & I really like the mellow purple light of the power switch. (It's just pleasing to me.) The price was affordable despite my limited budget. It was a great deal, for this price. If I ever hear anyone saying they're thinking about buying a bass practice amp, I'll wholeheartedly recommend this one. I'm convinced I made the best possible choice.

Affordable home practice or recording amp

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

I got this on STOTD and it's an insane value. Full disclosure: I'm a metal guitarist with somewhat limited bass skills. I use it for home recording. I record my solo music, and also demos for my band, using a very basic home studio setup. I am on a tight budget. This little amp has a nice tone! The "Shape" button is basically a compressor effect and gives it a really nice tight compressed sound. You also have 3 EQ knobs, plus overdrive, and overdrive level controls. There are a lot of tones in this amp. Sadly, there's no line out, which is a flaw. But I do get good recorded tones out of it using a mic. I would not bring this to a pro studio session, don't get me wrong, but for the price it's a sweet little beasty. Much as it works great for me, be advised the B15 is NOT loud enough for band practice or shows, not even close! Bottom line: good tone, great value, good for bedroom practice or home recording.

I'm using this for practice with my u-bass and baritone electric guitar. It's small size is perfect for moving around the house and patio or just staying put near my desk. There appears to be no humming or whining noises when it is powered on and idle.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

The B15 is ideal for practice at low volumes. It's 10" speaker provides enough bottom and tone for small room practice. The Shape controls are like compression, and it make playing very easy and forgiving. The build quality is fairy decent, solid closed cabinet. The only problem I have with it is the loud pop when you turn it on and off. Other than that, it's functional for practice and home recording.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this amp for its portability to take it to my student lessons. I am normally off site when giving lessons and not all my startup students have equipment they can bring to their Bass lessons. Well this amp surprised me for the price. Only 15 watts with a 10" speaker it handles the lows as well as the highs with out distortion. I have practiced in my own studio with the music loud and this amp was able to cut through and handle my session. It has an input for head phones for late night practicing and an Aux in for your media player to jam along with. Tone shaping is a bit limited but that's to be expected. It has internal distortion controls that work well. The outer shell is made strong and of good quality so I am very pleased it can be taken around without breaking. It's not an amp for a Gig but it can be used to jam on the soft side where the group needs to be considerate of volume. If you need a small practice amp you won't be disappointed. Excellent buy!

I'm a 79 yr old female, I've been a professional musician for 45 years. I don't play as much as I use to but play mostly now for senior citizen dances. I've had large bass amps that I couldn't lift by my self in to my vehicle. Now I've can load my own amp. Thanks

Comments about B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

Very very nice amp for the money. Sale price was extremely generous. I like the tones it gets, have yet to figure out what Acousi-comp (non-adjustable) really is, it does not seem to me to be typical compression (if that is what it is supposed to be). No matter. For low power, I am glad it has a 10" driver. I like the concept of being overbuilt a bit, in any application.

Nice little bedroom practice amp. Not for competing with a drummer, but good for what it is meant for. Headphone jack is useful for quiet practice.
