Acoustic

A seriously powerful amp for serious bassists.

The Acoustic B200 professional combo is designed for large club and live applications where the sound of its 15" bass driver and horn will fill the stage with warmth and punch. That's because it pounds a massive 200 watts RMS into the internal 15" speaker, delivering the classic Acoustic pro's tone in a portable, professional design.

The two bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete control over the character of your tone. Increase the gain for some old school rock tones, or lower it and turn up the volume for great clean, classic or funk tones. The preamp includes a very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical--even at high volume levels. The B200 also includes a frequency sweepable -10dB notch filter to tailor your mids, and a six-band EQ for exact control over every nuance of your bass's tone.

Rear panel features include a parallel effects loop, tweeter on/off switch, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The series extension speaker jack provides an output for an additional cabinet such as the Acoustic B115 or B410.

The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B200--a seriously professional amp for serious bassists.

B200 200W amp is awesome

| Review By: Kirk Payne | 2 months, 1 week ago

Features:

This thing has everything I was looking for. I had a 450W head with a 1200W cab. This was a pain to move around, so I wanted something smaller. I got this amp and it is the perfect weight and size. Now I can put the amp and guitar in the trunk. The direct out with level control is great. Try to find an amp with this feature. It is not that easy. Most of the time, when the amp is loud enough for you, direct out to the sound board is to high. This level control is great and sound people love it. Also, being able to turn the horn off and on is a great feature. Mostly standard between amps, but is still a great feature. The multiple equalizer nobs and notch filter makes it easier to get the sound you are looking for. May take a little playing to get it, but the manual gives you some starting points for the sound you are looking for. All in all, very happy with the features of this amp.

Quality:

Looks to be well made. I love that they did not put a logo on the speaker front fabric. Let the sound come though. I have used it and do not find any problems at all and am happy with the construction and sound.

Value:

This was a great value. I got it when Musicians Friend had a 15% off sale, so that paid for shipping and then some. I did my research and this amp had the best reviews at the lowest price for the wattage. I would recommend this amp to any musician that is doing a small to medium size gig or for practice. I play in clubs where they run the bass through the mixer, so this is my monitor. It holds it's own. Another bonus not everyone would get, but I ordered it with standard shipping and it arrived the very next day. What a great suprise.

Overall:

Overall, this is a great amp. The direct out level control, horn control, multiple equalizer nobs, notch filter, all of these things come together to provide you the control you need to get the sound you want. The output is enough to shake the windows but also sounds great at lower volume. Love this amp.

This amp is really great for the price. It sounds better than I expected. It is very strong for its size and the tone is quite good. I'm very happy with it. The only weird thing is that you can't turn off the notch filter.

B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo... All I got to say is Wow!

| Review By: William Hurst | 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Features:

I'm a seasoned trumpeter who recently bought an Ibanez SRA300 string bass. I bought a used (like new) B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo and I must say this thing rocks. Big sound! I got it for a steal. I'm yet to turn it up because it rattles the metal in my fire place. Plus I don't feel the need to move it to another room just to turn it up. I've been around the band stand long enough to know you can't go wrong with this amp as a practice and small to medium size venue kicker.

For practice, actually developing skills, this amp is fully capable of letting you hear the real deal while practicing. Sticky bass lines, no fraud! I’ve been practicing every day since I got it and I look forward to playing. I’m not into compress wood but I’m good with this amp…

Features:

This amp has nothing fancy effects wise, but it has all the EQ controls you need, a direct out and provision for an effects loop.

Quality:

Electronically everything works well. The tolex covering has a few bubbles, but looks OK.

Value:

For the price, it can't be beat.

Overall:

I needed an inexpensive bass amp with enough power to play bar gigs, etc. I looked at both new and used and decided to try this Acoustic sight unseen based on customer reviews. This thing ROCKS! The owner's manual has a few tone setting suggestions that are really helpful. Within minutes, I had the sound I wanted. I brought it to a band audition and everyone loved the tone. On stage, this amp has plenty of power to keep up with miked drums and loud guitar leads. Very little tweeking is required to keep the tone I want at higher volume levels. I love the sounds from this amp. The handles are well placed to carry the weight, which at 75 pounds is a consideration.

All in all, this combo performs as well as or better than anything else I've tried in the under $1000 price range.
