Acoustic

A seriously powerful amp for serious bassists.

The Acoustic B200H professional head is designed for large club and live applications where it will fill any stage with depth and definition. Used in conjunction with the B115 and/or B410 enclosures, the B200H will easily drive either one or two cabinets in any combination of your choice.

The two bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete control over the character of your tone. Increase the gain for some old school rock tones, or lower it and turn up the volume for great clean, classic or funk tones. The preamp includes a very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical—even at high volume levels. The B200H also includes a notch filter to tailor your mids, and a six-band EQ for exact control over every nuance of your bass's tone.

Rear panel features include a parallel Effects Loop, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The two speaker output jacks allow you to directly connect to each enclosure (such as the B115 and/or B410) to maximize your tone and power.

The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B200H—a seriously professional stage head for serious bassists.

    I use this through an Ashdown 2 x 10, 250W 8 ohm bottom.

Simply, I thinks it's great for what it is----the price to me is unusually low but why I bought it too. I'm so used to OEM's wanting all they can get from me.

Yes, slithgtly underpowered----as rated would be output at 100W in this bottom.

It has to be in the area of 3 o'clock to start pushing high db's, so not a lot of room left (w/Gain at apx 9 o'clock). However, for a "smaller" venue, pending style of music is fine, or as per the line out what you mix it into. As well the Bass used too, needs to be considered----I'm using stock passive J Bass configuration. I don't get the high frequency cutting through as one might with another setup. Again, this is subtle.

So, a negative? --No, not really. But, it would be nice to be 200-300W in this bottom w/that "presence". Not even the next model up accomplishes that it would seem. Again, not a negative, just a fact to be aware of--or adjust your bottom to 4 ohms, consider an Active unit with more, what at sometimes, can seem like shrill high end.

--Give and take, ----I'm glad to own it. I expect it to last a long time.

Well i got my second one of these after getting the first one that blew out 5 minutes within receiving it, and now that one blew out roughly 4 months of getting it. If you want a mediocre amp that breaks really easily this is definitely the right one for you.

Comments about Acoustic B200H 200w Bass Head:

Been playing bass for 17 yrs, and giggin steady ( almost every weekend) since 2005. I got this head about 5 yrs ago, and am just writing a review...why u ask? Because it has never let me down. Ive upgraded cabs and tried different heads over the years but always seem to come back to my acoustic head. Dont be fooled by the "200watts", this thing gets loud. At an outdoor venue I play regularly, I have my bass run through a sans amp driver into this head, and have the gain and volume set at about 9oclock - or 25%. Lots of room to go!!!! And it sits atop an Avatar full stack rated at 1400watts. This little amp is no joke, I am amazed at its capabilities for the price.

Sure you could spend well over $1000 and something awesome. But If your looking for a cheap, reliable, great sounding amp.....you just found it. The only thing ive played that came close was a Gallien Kruger 400rb, but for the price...the acoustic cant be beat.

Comments about Acoustic B200H 200w Bass Head:

I use the head with two Acoustic bass cabinets with 15" speakers. The amp has plenty of clean volume and the EQ, along with the notch filter, allows me to dial-in an impressive sound. I play an Alesis drum set through the rig and am able to use the EQ on the amp to make the cymbals sweet and the bass drum round and thumpy. Comes with documentation including suggested settings. Very helpful. Great value.

Bought it on sale to power a Peavey 1810 cab. At 200W it is a perfect match. Helps get the most out of the cab and gives me enough volume to compete with 2 loud guitarist at half volume.

          Incredible Amp

Comments about Acoustic B200H 200w Bass Head:

I play it through a fender rumble 4x10 with the tweeter off and a fender jazz bass. Incredible.
With the EQ on there you can make any sound you could possibly want.
          So far no problems.
For the tone quality this amp is worth 2 or 3 times the price.

I bought this head on Feb.23rd and this thing is amazing .I have played music professional for over 30 years and have used many different amps .I even own an ampeg 200watt
head and 2 4-10 ampeg bottoms , This amp blows the ampeg write out of the water. I also got the Acoustic B410 cab and the Acoustic B115 cab and all I can say is HOLY CRAP this combo really stomps VERY HAPPY with this purchase. I recomend this to everyone who wants nice clean low end !

          Amp Head

          By remy cavalieri

          from Northern Virginia

Comments about Acoustic B200H 200w Bass Head:

Been playing bass for a while, got this amp and i must say it is fantastic. The booklet that comes with it has a guide to tones you can set with the knobs and it has a good clean sound to it as well. It has a very heavy sound to it and I frequently have my lower frequency up a little for a fatter sound. But i love the amp, I recommend it.
