OVERVIEW

Ground-shaking output and precision control.

Combining massive output, advanced tone shaping, and convenient signal controls, the Acoustic B600H is an ideal bass amp head for dominating the stage or crafting your perfect studio tone.

The B600H amp has 2 inputs”one for passive pickups, the other for active”plus input gain and output volume controls. The clip indicator lets you know when your signal is overdriving the preamp, although with the harmonically rich distortion of the B600H's preamp circuit, that just might be what you want. The mute function coupled with the rear-panel tuner send lets you tune silently on stage. Add the 6-band EQ and notch filter into the mix and you've got total tone control. Generate deep, thundering lows, aggressive, punchy mids, or crisp, clean highs; any sound you want is yours to be had.

The rear panel offers an array of possibilities. Multiple speaker outs let you work with many cabinet configurations. The Direct Out with independent level control”which you can send pre- or post-EQ”is perfect for getting a solid DI signal to a console for live sound reinforcement or studio recording. The effects loop with mix control allows you to work with line-level, studio-grade gear for advanced tone shaping. Use the footswitch input to put the control at your feet for the complete bass rig.

I had started out with the B200H with B115 Cab. and this was not powerful enough. I went to GC yesterday and traded up into the 600. I used the 600 last night and Oh My God! What a major difference. I've always liked the old school tone and you can't beat the price of these imported amps. The B600H is very smooth and responsive. My band plays Classic Rock covers and I use a P-Bass. Last night I ran the gain at 12 o'clock and Master Vol at 12 o'clock. Kept the Vol on my bass down low. EQ was set like a V-Curve and I dialed up the Notch Filter for some Boom. Absolute Dream rig! More power that I could ever need and the tone is Warm and Old School. Buy this amp.

I purchased a B600 head along with a B410 and B115 cabinet on salesman's recommendation. Have had to replace every component, the head's power light went out on our band's first practice. The left bank speakers on the 410 cab went with the final 2 songs on the last set of a show and then finally the 115 speaker just would'nt put out anything when I brought home the replaced head and 410 cabinet, so had to replace it. Now it's all functional but, well, we'll see. The price is right but don't push them too hard. I never had anything over about 1/3 playing my Fender deluxe precision. One good thing is that is was a no questions asked exchange, so I'll give 'em that much!!

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

This head is not only great sounding but built tough. I could probably drop this thing down a flight of stairs on the way to a gig and not have to worry about it. Best 600 watt head out there at this price. Guaranteed.
This amp has everything the working man musician needs, loads of power, a great classic bass sound, good EQ to fine tune your sound, easy to use, built tough and a good line out for recording. All at a reasonable price. I paired this head with the 410 and 115 cab and it sounds awesome. For those of you, like me, who cant afford an Ampeg, Fender or Peavey setup at ten times the price, buy this. You wont be disappointed.

These are re-branded Kustom amps

By Al-zwPP.

from East Coast

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

I had a chance to use one of these at a practice and a gig and it sounded kinda flat and papery. So I did some research. These amps are just rebranded Kustom GrooveBass amps made for Muscians Friend. This amp HAS NOTHING to do with the original ACOUSTIC AMP company other than the use of the logo. The actual Acoustic Amp company is working on amps again that were famous by Jaco and such. If you are on a budget this is has a ton of sub par tone power, but so does Carvin and Peavey and they are mostly US made.

I Love It - LOUD!

By Lowbrow-E_EuU

from New York City

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

A great-sounding amp, easy to use, full featured with headroom to spare. Very good for high-volume applications as it realizes its full 600w output at 2 ohms - lets you power 2x4-ohm cabs, as I do, for a really big sound. Great value; I shaved off a half a point in features (has 2 1/4 speaker outs, but only one Speakon) and quality (the small dip switches and DI level knob are pretty light duty), but still think this is a worthy amp for those seeking great sound and ample volume at a great price.PS: It's big and weighs a lot - this ain't no LittleMark!

brilliant sound and range

By shakesbass

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

I got this amp and was almost skeptical. I was completely wrong. this is the best amp ive ever had. i got this head along with the acoustic B410 400w 4x10 cabinet and it simply blew me away. there is so much range in the equalizer. i can put out anything from really punchy low and powerful to a really loud and sharp twang and everything in between. plus there is no buzz or anything when your plugged in. its silent when it needs to be and clean when your playing. simply amazing.

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

Great head and very reliable. There isn't alot of stuff on the amp for frills. Every knob and switch has a real function. This is a bass amp not an airplane. I have never had to use the 2 head at one time. one head with move a foundation with 2 of the 810 cabs. refer to review of the 810 cab for current setting use and gear. Do agree with 12 Stones guy, road cases I agree would be nice and are available through a seperate vendor.(even a vinyl cover for any of the gear). Enjoy this one and play the rip out of it. I do wish the company had an actual company to contact and an e-mail only contact.

Plenty of power, great sound

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

I have owned this head for about 6 months now and use it with an Acoustic B115 cab. This combo has more than enough power for the 80-150 person rooms I play in. It took a few gigs to dial in the sound, but once I did it sounds great. My drummer remarked how good it sounded at the last gig. The EQ gives lots of options for sculpting the tone. I have played a variety of active & passive basses through it and they all sound great. In retrospect, I probably could've gotten by with the B200H, but it's nice to know I can add a cab and have the extra power if I need it.

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

This Head reminds me of my old 370's head even better. I love the versatility and power. The lows are pants shaking and the highs cut right through. All of this is controllable. I was pleased at the transparency of the sound that you can get that gets great sounds just like my SWR equipment. It's a great amp at a great price.

Killer value

By Bassplayer78-47EvC

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

I play in a Led Zeppelin tribute band and so I try to use gear that is either vintage or faithfully authentic to the classic 70's era. I had been using an Ampeg stack until it was lost in a fire. I did some research and discovered that John Paul Jones used Acoustic amps on Zeppelin tours from 1969 through '77. Since I admired his tone, I thought I'd at least check out an Acoustic amp before replacing the Ampeg. I wish I had used this from the beginning! This acoustic amp sounds amazing, and has plenty of power to spare. Although any experience musician will go through the PA system anyway, so I rarely go up to half on the volume. Overall, I'm very impressed with this amp. It sounds amazing has held up through 8 months of weekly high-powered gigging so far.

    New Old School Acoustic

    By Ace-jet4W

    from DC

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

I bought this head as a backup for an Ampeg and was very impressed. I end up using it more than the ampeg since it is so portable. I used to use an Acoustic 370 "back in the day" and was a bit skeptical on the imported stuff, but for the price, the b600h pumps out good loud volume with huge bottom and no clipping. Worth the money. I prefer the look of sliders for the equalizer, but the knobs may be better since sliders usually break or fall off in transport. It is time for Acoustic to reintroduce the 301 cabinet with the 1-18" folded horn cabinet. Now THAT would be a rig!

I have two 600s, 2 4x10 cabs and 2 1x15cabs. I run lower freq. to the 15s. Mid and high to the 10s. I love it. My only complaint is the durability. One tour w/ 12 stones and my tolex is destroyed. Road cases are a must.

Comments about Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head:

I've owned this head for about a year and used it in a variety of venues. It has all the power I need. Serious low end?with the right speakers, great mids and highs. The DI output is one of the best Ive used..very clean, true reproduction of sound.I finally found an amp that helps me keep the guitar players in check..they think twice about getting too loud.Other bass player that have used my rig were blown away with the tone and power. A couple of them wanted to buy my rig after playing through it.This thing coupled with good speakers (I use an Avatar 210 and old Peavey 115BW) is as solid as it gets. If this rig was lost I'd replace it the next day with the same components.
