I bought the Loar LH-309 & LH-319 arch-tops with P-90 pickups. My old amp was the Peavey EFX-112 100-watt acoustic amp. My Peavey amp sounded good with my flat-top acoustic guitar with a piezoelectric pickup. However, my arch-tops with P-90's sounded like a banjo on steroids. I then got myself a V-Tone Acoustic Amp Modeler, with very little change. Then I tried the ZOOM A-2.1 Acoustic Effects Pedal, & I became frustrated. Fast forward through a hundred more youtube videos, I sensed that I might need to try a tube amp, but a quality tube amp is expensive. I saw this amp advertised on my facebook wall. When I read one of the reviews about this amp wanting to sound like a tube amp, I decided to try it. Wow! What rich tone & distortion & Loud!! My girls sound so good with the Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp. Thanks For A Great Deal Musician's Friend!!!

Has a great clean sound, the overdrive channel sounds great with my strat, but horrible with my Les Paul. Get the Behringer Vintage Tube VT-999 for your Les Paul. Great practice amp, and I'd use it to play out. Sounds good enough on my home recordings. Get your own chorus/delay and phase shifter though, and just use the reverb on the effects.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

Bottom line; this amp is an insane value in this price range. I am a long time playing & gigging musician; playing guitar, bass & drums for nearly 2 decades now (also a home recording studio hobbiest). Because I play so many instruments and am unfortunatley not rich, I have to seek out the best "bang for your buck" gear, which is half the fun IMO. This amp is everything you want and nothing you don't. It's just a really great sounding two channel rock amp. I've been disappointed in the past with modeling amplifiers I've purchased in this price range, so with this purchase I was looking for a good sounding, loud, durable 2-channel amp that didnt try to model other amps or get to crazy with FX...and that is exactly what this is. The effects section is superb too, the FX don't sound too cheesy or over the top, and it doesnt get mired-down in tap tempos, effects editing, LED tuners or any of that...you just select the effect and theres one knob for the level of the effect mixed into the signal. Perfect. It's just incredibley easy to dial in a really solid tone. The only con I can really even come up with is that it doesnt get the best tone when mic'd for recording, but even there it's still not terrible. For full-band practice and medium to even larger gigs (it gets seriously loud...and keeps it's good solid tone even at louder levels) it's dynamite. I play bass in my current band, and we practice at my house. My guitar player has stopped bringing his guitar rig altogether, because there's no need for it. He was blown away by the tone achievable with this amp. We even gig with it occasionally. Long story short, i bought this amp as kind of just a kick-around practice amp, and it has vastly exceeded my expections. It's even pretty well constructed. Do not hesitate to purchase this amp, you will be pelasantly suprised!

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

I love EL84 power tubes. I have a Vox AC30CC (celestion vintage spkrs) a Crate Palomino 32, and a Marshall DSL 401. They're ALL in storage and I play through this Acoustic G120 DSP. It gets cold in the winters here and I'm really tired of replacing power tubes from extreme temp changes>gig to load out. My Solid State Quest: I started in the early 70's with Peavey Special 130's. Brittle, but easy to carry (better than my Ampeg VT22 that I dearly loved).
This amp sounds more like a tube amp than any of the SS amps I've owned (many)It's not "clanky" or brittle. The "key" is the mid-shift knob. With my Tele or Strat, I boost the lower mids to achieve balls. With my humbuckers, I turn the mid-shift up to 900 to brighten the balls.
The effects, especially reverb and delays, took me a long time to find in the studio with my Boss ME pedals. In other words, the timing on the delays are exactly the way I set my stompboxes, so I got lucky on that..but I can leave all of that at home and no drunks dance or puke on my pedals now HA.
We used Acoustic equipment back in the 70's and beat the HECK out of it on the road. Never failed us so I gave this a listen in the store. Bought it on-the-spot. GREAT sounding amp, mostly the clean channel. I get along with the Lead Channel, but it takes too much tweaking in between songs so I'm back to my RAT for distortion.
Could not be happier. Let it snow, I won't have to buy new power tubes next week!

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought the Acoustic G120 DSP from the used gear section of musicians friend. I am exceptionally pleased with it so far. It had a "scratch" on the side of it, and a "dent" in the bottom. This made the price less than 50% of retail. Damage is so insignificant I would not have noticed it without knowing it was there.

Clean channel is crisp, warm, and full. I have used it at home, and a couple of gigs with my band already. It has good warmth at low volume, and stays clean and warm all the way up the knob.

The Overdrive channel is fairly typical of a solid state amp. However, with a little bit of messing with it, I was able to find a good tone for my style.

The DSP are surprisingly good. I like delay, and while it's not very adjustable I would be able to use the onboard effects if I absolutely needed to.

Most of the time I'm going to be running an effects rig into the amp and play though the clean channel only, but it is super nice to have the option to go without. The chorus and reverb effects are nice. The 3 delay options are simple, but very good.

Overall, I am very pleased with the amp. I can't speak to it's longevity yet, but at the price, it doesn't have to live forever to be a great deal! One common question I have seen is if the amp works with a footswitch. Yes it does. I have a Hughes and Kettner double switch and the left switch controls the overdrive channel, and the right controls the DSP.

      Thanks Musicians Friend!

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

What can I add that hasn't already been said. I bought this amp to use mainly as a home practice amp that has some kick to it. When Musician's Friend offered this as a Stupid Deal of the Day, I decided, what the hey! let's try it, and this amp has far surpassed anything I could've hoped for. The rhythm tone is clean and warm and the lead channel is bright and powerful. The effects are easy to use. I personally use the amps effects to minimum and run my guitar (a Fender Japanese Squire Strat) through my normal effects pedals with wa wa and volume pedals and I truly get inspired. It makes it fun to play and experiment. My normal instrument is the bass which I run through a Hartke HA-7000 head with 4 10" cones. I love the warmth. This Acoustic is also very good on the warm side. Don't be fooled by the price. This is a killer amp and for the money I don't believe you could go wrong, Have fun.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

Love the amp. I recently purchased the Raven Rg 100 2x12 and the Spider line 6 IV 150w 2x12( which now my son has and loves it). Raven wasn't that great(loud but way to mid range) and the line 6 was pretty nice, loud and nice foot pedal. Still not what I was looking for. I'm an older simple blues /classic rock guitar player and the Acoustic G120 fit what I was looking for. Great tone , easy to use and plenty loud enough. Nice inexpensive amp that gets the jog done.

Overall I love the buy love the amp very good souding amp just remember to get yourself a footswitch with it
This amp has 2 Channels and and 16 onboard effects, also it has a level knob for the effects to you can blend to your liking. Just I would recommend getting a 2 switch footswitch so you can turn the effects and switch between your dirty and clean channels. It also has 4 eq knobs Low, Mid, Mid Frequency, and Highs and a Mid scoop button, which does kind of like it sounds with it on its more a metalish distortion buts not like a hellish scoop (although you can do that if you want). With it off its noticebly has more mids which is also kind of cool because being in Metal band that really helps with our guitarist note articulation. This amp is also hellova loud we practice with it at like 4-5
I haven't had this amp longer to really see its durability, but it feels and looks very solid

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

I just wrote a review a couple of days ago and wanted to say a few more things about this good amp. There is not anything that you can not do with this acoustic amp. The only thing i would say is when you get this deliverd to your door, make sure before you use it and after you take it out of the box, check all screws that hold the front acoustic panel together. I took the amp out and heard a rattle on the back bottom of it. No big deal, but three screws that i found had to be put back from behind the amp so the panel would not come off. After putting the screws back in, everything is fine. Found one screw stuck to the magnet of the speaker. At least i found it and it is in good shape now. Amp is working in good order and no problums what so ever. The amp is really nice and sounds real good. You have got all the power you need for this amp and then some. Acoustic is the amp for all my needs.

I have used this amp at 3 gigs and multiple practices. The volume is more than adequate and i rarely turn it up above quarter volume. The sound quality is amazing with excellent tone and punch. I used a medium hall effect and it really brings out the sustain on my high end. Overall price versus quality, this amp can't be beat.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

Very well done amp. At the price point it has a lot of available features on it. And those features make it possible to get anywhere from a clean, to a classic rock, to heavy metal sound. The amps overdrive is reminiscent of a fuzz pedal, and the cleans are superb. Being a solid state it does lack some of the warmth of a tube, but its possible to add some warmth with effects pedals(overdrive). Overall a great amp well worth the money.
