I currently perform a solo act for happy hours at various corner bars, taverns, and resturaunts. I'm not really an act or a show, but provide mainly background music for the patrons of these establishments. The tips I make really make the difference in the amount that I make, so I really rely on my ability and equipment to impress the people. Because the venues are small, I don't really need the 140 watt combo that weighs 95 pounds. I use my guitar amp as my PA (unless the venue has their own). So I am mixing my pre-recorded music, my vocals, CD player, and guitar (using a Didgitech foot processor), into the mixer, and run it through my guitar amp. I really need a lot of low and midrange push from my amp to achieve a good sound for all of the equipment that I am using through it. That's what really makes this amp special. Great EQ. Good cabinet design, which projects vocals and background music well, and it makes my processed guitar, sound great. Highly effective. Loud enough for what I do, and it doesn't weigh too much. I am very immpressed by the Acoustic G35FX 35 watt 1x12" combo amp. I would recomend this amp to anyone. Great for practice or gigs as a stand alone amp. The judges score this one a 8.375
The FX features are good but, not great. The best FX sound is the reverb. A little thin, but sounds really good. The delay sounds great, but the delay time needs to be a little faster. I owned a GK ML250 that had a preset delay that was about 285ms, which was a great slapback effect, that went well with the preset chorus. The Acoustic delay comes in at about 600ms, and is just a little bit to slow for a preset. The chorus effect sounds really rich and full. I like it. One problem though. You can hear the timing thump, thump as it cycles through its mode. Not just a little, but alot. It sounds like a drum beat. I also do not like the 1/8" plug ins for the cd/mp3, or the headphones jacks. What, now I have to buy adapters? The power is outrageous though. Really loud for a 35 watt amp. With the 12" speaker, the sound really cuts through. And it has a good low end projection. Overall the features are very decent. If I could, I would rate the features at a 6.75, but not quite 7.0.
The Amp is put together really well. I'm positive that it will last a long time without any problems. I've had some Acoustic equipment that I've used in the past, and although the sound wasn't what I was looking for, they were always consitant and performed well. I fully expect the same with the new amp. Plus they have had a lot of tiem to work out all the kinks that there older amps had. Great quality.
For the amount of money that I paid, This amp rocks! My budget was very low, and I was looking for the best value deal that I could get and still have an amp loud enough to play the venues that I play, and not weigh alot. the perfect fit. I definintely recommend this amp to any one who wants just the right amount of power, projection, and value.

I got tired of hauling my Deluxe Reverbs/tube amps to rehearsals and purchased the G35FX to be my low cost, easy to carry practice/rehearsal amp. It is very light weight. The normal channel sounds ok to good, but is typical solid state. The clean channel @ 35watts isn't nearly as loud as my 20w tube amps. Barely loud enough to be heard over a medium hitting drummer. The OD channel gets louder, but the tone isn't usable for the stuff I play. All in all, this amp meets my needs at a good price, but I'm not in love with the tone... but at less than $150, I didn't expect to be.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G35FX 35W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp to keep in my bedroom as a secondary rig. This amp has a good clean channel, but I feel that it is best suited to running pedals as the overdrive channel is weak and has no independent EQ. The delay effect is not adjustable (doesn't bother me) and neither is the chorus, which sounds more like a phaser than a chorus. The reverb sounds good but just doesn't get intense enough, so if you have it all the way up, it is still only noticeable enough to add a slight depth to the tone.

This amp sounds very modern and got very crunchy with a Danelectro Fab Metal pedal running into it. If you want vintage, twangy tones, look elsewhere, because this amp has a flat, sterile, but clear and crisp clean tone that begs for you to hook up some effects.

Good backup or beginner amp, and it gives me an alternative, more modern sound than my main amp. Small and light enough to travel with to practice (have not played with drums yet with this amp) but still pretty loud at 35W and with its relatively large speaker.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G35FX 35W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Thanks. Better than many Ive owned at twice the price. Bought as my leave-it-in-the-car-trunk amp, and now my living room mainstay instead of the 10" Fender 20 that cost more than twice as much. Great bass fill, and the spring reverb is so retro accurate.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G35FX 35W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great sounding and versatile amp for small venues and recording. Only downside is the rhythm channel doesn't have the same punch or power as the lead channel. Guess that's by design, just can't get as much volume on the rhythm channel for clean sounds.

Nice amp. I use it around the house for practicing. It's light enough to lug around and has enough features for me. It's plenty loud enough for the normal person. Another great thing--You can leave it on and not know it--there is no annoying whine and hum while it's in idle position.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G35FX 35W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought two of these to serve as cheap amplification for a spare stereo rig in my practice room. I was also attracted to the fact that the amps had 12" speakers and potentially healthy wattage. My intention all along was to run two modelers (Digitech RP500 and Line 6 POD Pro XT) on the clean channel of both of them. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how well they perform in this capacity. I initially set the tonal controls in the neutral position and worked the tone on the modelers. All in all, the clean channel of these solid state amps is pristine and serves well as a poor-man's flat response rig. They exceeded my expectations and serve well in that capacity. They also appear to be somewhat solid. Are they as well-built as my Marshall amps? Of course not, but they are certainly solid and seem durable. Out of curiosity, I ran the distortion channel and built-in effects through the paces. The sound was acceptable, but not of interest to me. The distortion obviously lacked the warm organic sound of a good tube rig or high-end modeler. The effects were also acceptable, but also not of much interest to me. The bottom line? These amps are definitely well worth the price. The clean channels have exceeded my expectations for what I use them for. They are definitely worth a five-star rating for their economy and quality. It would be foolish to compare them to expensive high-end amps, but I would definitely recommend them in the capacity that I use them. They also have a three-year warranty.

Acoustic G35FX. To start off. I had at one time two small acoustic amps. Why I sold them I don't know. When I saw this amp for the price I had to buy it. It came on time and set the amp up and just played with the amp without my pedals. I don't know how you can beat this deal. Clean channel sounds good if not better than my old twin reverb. Then I went to the distortion channel and sound was not bad at all. I have not used my pedals yet. I have all boss pedals and I can't wait to play around with those. Overall. Volume. There is more than you'll ever need. I would have liked another input to switch between channels and a foot switch but I can work around that. All and all. This has been the best amp deal I have ever had. I have been at this for fifty six years and I have more playing to do. So pick up one of these amps. You have nothing to lose. Thank You Musician's Friend
