This is a good pedal for the money. I have an Echoplex and this thing gets pretty close. In my set-up it was very quiet. The broad range of speeds makes it flexible. My only complaint was that as your battery gets weak it begins to distort. Oddly enough, it's kind of a cool sounding distortion. So, you don't notice it right away. It burns through batteries quickly. I've only had it 3 weeks and I burned up 2 of them. Granted, I prefer using non-alkaline with pedals but still I didn't expect it to drain them so fast. After the second one failed, I thought that the pedal was defective because it was distorting again. I finally plugged in an AC powers supply I had lying around and it went back to it's clean, quiet, delay sound. I like this pedal but will probably use it with a power supply from now on.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
Bought this on a Stupid Deal of the Day and I'm glad I did...it's warm-sounding, rich, funky, just what I hoped for and yet controllable and not unruly like a tape delay unit. Haven't had it long so I can't comment on the reliability but it seems like a well made pedal.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I bought this for a extra delay. The stupid deal of the day was why, could not beat the price, having said that, this delay is not to bad sounds old school for those who like that. I already had the carbon copy for rhythm and was going to get the wampler delay for leads but the price was so good I decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
Over all price was right. It does what it's supposed to do and does it well. Only criticism was one of the 3 retro looking control knobs was off and laying in the side of the package upon delivery. I tried to put it back on but it was made poorly and won't stay on very long.

Used 2 times, 30 min. each and it quit. Battery is still good. Tried a 300ma, 9 V adapter and it caused a lot of buzz. Has clean sound with battery. Tried to find an Akai adapter and cannot locate one. I guess I got what I paid for.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I took a chance and ordered this pedal when it was a "Stupid Deal". I love this pedal! It's quiet, sounds very good, and is very adjustable. I primarily like it as a reverb substitute with a single "slapback" and a shorter duration. Actually, I'll probably use this more often than reverb.
My only complaints are: the included battery was too weak to run it. I initially thought it had arrived broken. Luckily, I decided to try one of my own batteries and all was well. Also, the write-up states it has true bypass, but I doubt it.
I like this pedal so much that that I'm not going to downgrade it for the 2 shortcomings I've listed.
