OVERVIEW

Combines Level and Sensitivity knobs in a heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing.

The Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal, from the Akai Professional, is the ideal solution to sculpting a defined guitar tone. Compressor combines Level and Sensitivity knobs in a heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing with classic custom graphics evoking the true sound of guitar glory.

With just two knobs, Analog Custom Shop's Compressor provides precise control over the input signal resulting in a more balanced overall output. Level controls how much of the compression effect is applied while Sensitivity determines when the effect kicks in. Careful adjustments between these two parameters results in signal clarity not otherwise achievable.

Compressor is powered by the included 9-volt battery or 9v AC adapter (sold separately).

As with previous Akai Professional guitar pedals like the E2 Headrush and SB1 Deep Impact Bass Synth, the Analog Custom Shop line is a collection of pedal effects designed to exacting standards, using the highest quality components. Analog Custom Shop pedals provide rich tone, texture and character to immediately enhance and inspire players of any musical style.

FEATURES
  • Squeeze your sound to increase sustain or create harder attacks
  • Wide range of compression sounds from one pedal.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal:

Probably made by Biyang from the looks of this unit. This pedal puts a nice finish on notes and makes chords glisten. Not a squashed sound like many pedals out there, but it depends on what you like.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was using this thing clean at low levels and low gain levels on my amp and it sounded great, then i cranked my amp up to get some overdrive and it was picking up my local Vietnamese radio station, which is at the higher end of the radio dial. I figure it was this pedal because when I clicked it off the radio station went away, and the only thing I had in front of it was my guitar, and I turned my guitar's volume all the way down to isolate the problem.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal:

I am really pleased with this compressor, I have been using an ElecHrmnx( much pricier), but this thing rocks, and with just a couple of knobs is much more versatile!! If you need or want a comressor give the Akai a try, you will not be disappointed. It is useful from blues, country, rock or heavy rock. I love the way it works well with a 5watt tube "A" or a 100 watt stack. Get it.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a fun pedal to either take the edge off of leads (i.e., limit unmusical clipping) or to adjust the attack of your playing. The pedal housing is very durable, and the pedal is quiet. It seems the Akai pedals in general are not well-regarded, but this pedal has been a nice addition to the board.

It's beautiful, too. Stainless and black graphics give it an understated look, and the pedal is relatively compact. (Not Boss compact, but not a space hog either.)

The pedal seems very durable, and the pedal plays nicely with other pedals - without adding a bunch of ambient noise. I got it on sale, and doubt I would have picked it up at full street price. The street price is the only thing keeping me from giving this a five star rating. But I'm surprised this pedal doesn't get more love. (I entirely understand the criticisms of some of the other Akai Custom Analog pedals, BTW.)

The controls are simple and pretty sensitive, and credit to Akai for keeping it to two knobs here (Level and Sensitivity).

Bottom line is it will help you get your Dire Straits type sounds if that's what your after, and also help you sculpt your tone in other ways.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal:

I would definately check out other items they have to offer. From what applications I have used, seems to be responsive. Footswitch is a little too 'clicky' though, you have to be forceful with the on/off motion, never a good thing in the long run for a pedal.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this as part of one of the stupid deals for a bargain. As far as compressors go, it does what a compressor should do. It's no Keely, but then again for this kind of money I wasn't expecting much.
