The Analog Custom Shop Quad-Mode Phase Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal, from the Akai Professional, is one of the more esoteric pedals in the product line. Phase includes A and B frequency toggle-switches and a Rate knob in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching and 3 control mechanisms provide precision control.
Phase Shifter provides an instantly recognizable swirling sound. The Rate knob sets how often the oscillation effect waveform repeats as well as the resulting pitch and depth of the signal. The A and B frequency toggle-switches can be set in 4 different ways. Combining these 4 settings with subtle changes to the Rate knob results in a range of lush, atmospheric ambience that swirls around as much or as little as desired.
Phase is powered by the included 9-volt battery or 9V AC adapter (sold separately).
As with previous Akai Professional guitar pedals like the E2 Headrush and SB1 Deep Impact Bass Synth, the Analog Custom Shop line is a collection of pedal effects designed to exacting standards, using the highest quality components. I'm very pleased with this pedal. After owning phase shifters from Boss and Digitech, I can honestly say that I like this one the best. My only problem with this unit is the fact that that the overall depth of the effect is controlled by two mini toggle switches. A knob would be better.

This is a wonderful pedal. I have a well known pedal that cost a lot more that doesn't have the tone this one has. I love it. I found it's best use is mild on my J-Bass. It just brings out and subtlety enhances the tone in such a positive "I can't believe I'm sounding this good" kind of way. I like this pedal very much and never plan to sell it, but pass it down to my grandchildren. Yes, IMHO, it's that good.

Easily a great buy
I can get a lot of different phase sounds for my bass.Very Nice Indeed.Brightnens my tone a smidge when engaged,otherwise true bypass.I get a lot of control over how much phase and how it sounds with the toggle switches.
Great housing and sturdy.
This is the finest phase pedal I've ever owned for the money.
