Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
This Akai Distortion pedal works very well to ramp up gain and distortion. It sounds really good to me but of course that's just my opinion. I use humbucker guitars most often and the gain and tone controls on this unit allow a good variety of distortion from subtle to raging. Good tone and good sustain, useful for a variety of distorted guitar needs.
Pros
- Compact Design
Cons
- Poor Sound Quality

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
I bought this as a stupid deal of the day, so I can't say I'm upset, But this distortion sound is terrible, I much prefer a DS-1, but I like to try different pedals in a lot of different instruments and applications, Hey, you never know, It might work out somewhere, But for now its sitting on a shelf until I need to experiment sometime.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
This is a well made versatile pedal, and has quickly become a staple in my collection. The sound is very controllable and natural and the range of selection is well above average with the inclusion of the toggle. I LOVE THIS BOX !! It is a tick larger than your typical pedal so it may take a bit more space if you use a board, but that is inconsequential to me all things considered.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
Put this pedal between a tube screamer and a digitech delay and get all the distortion you could need. Then, toggle it down to get the perfect amount of distortion for classic rock. It works just fine and gives you many choices as to the amount and the depth of the distortion. "Responsive" is the appropriate description. And that is all through the clean channel.
