Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:
So I picked this up as a Stupid Deal because I couldn't resist. I wasn't expecting much, honestly. And I didn't really need another fuzz.
On a whim, I put it on my bass pedalboard as a place holder for another pedal I was planning on getting. After some tweaking, I got to having the tone nearly dimed, the fuzz nearly dimed, and the level at about 1 o' clock.
Whoa. Seriously, whoa. Massive brutal stuff going on. Retains the low end dang well and it doesn't even have a clean blend function. The only fuzz pedal I've heard retain low end without clean blend slightly better is a Barber Trifecta fuzz, but thing has its own kinda flavor anyway.
I don't think I'd pay the original price for it, but I'm happy I got it. Plays well with the other pedals. Footswitch doesn't have hte most "statisfying click" that people seem to dig, but I like it. It's not "soft touch" either, but somewhere in between. Very cool, folks. Worth the price? Your call.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:
This fuzz pedal sounds good. I pretty much just leave it on 'Boost' as the other two settings are too subtle when playing quietly at home, though their effect will probably be more obvious when you turn it up. The build quality is great, the metal case is stiff and durable, doesn't feel cheap at all. The dials sound true-to-setting and allows a range of fuzz sounds, from subtle to over-the-top. The only knock and the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is its regular price. Way too high. I got this pedal as a Stupid Deal but I'd consider other options before shelling out it's current price. Calling it 'Custom Shop' or 'Boutique' would be a stretch and Akai isn't exactly known for its guitar pedals. It is more versatile than other pedals though and it covers the fuzz ground really well, so if price is no object, then it's a great pedal to consider. But don't believe the whole 'Custom Shop' labeling.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:
Very nice Fuzz, three setting allow for different tones. Works well with you guitar's volume, not over-the-top with the amount of gain. The gain also sounds very realistic.

Comments about Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop Tri-Mode Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal is amazing. It's got such a range of sounds that you can create and they're all quite good. I, for one, prefer to keep mine mainly on the boost setting with the fuzz knob turned to about 1/3 of the way up with the tone just below halfway up. This pedal can give you any type of fuzz that you want on your guitar.
