Ampeg AFP3 footswitch

By Brian Laukaitis

from Springfield, IL

Comments about Ampeg AFP3 Triple Footswitch:

I have owned a Vh-140C combo amp since I bought it brand new in 1999. It came stock with a two-button footswitch (AFP2), and I wasn't able to access everything on the amp, until now. I would highly recommed the AFP3 for anyone with a VH-140C who would like to actually access everything their amp has to offerand do it right at their feet.
There isn't much to list here. The switch just has three buttons that access channel switching, chours and reverb on my VH-140C.
Like all Ampeg products, this one seems to be very well built.
It is a little on the pricey side for a footswitch, but if you own an Ampeg amp, this is a must.

Footswitch for Ampeg SVT-Pro4

Comments about Ampeg AFP3 Triple Footswitch:

I'm happy. It took a couple month to arrive because of back order issues, but it's finally here!
Rock solid metal case. I used a plastic Crate 3 foot switch for 10 years till it started hanging up. I'm not sure if Crate equipment is still being mfd. But I'm sure this one will carry me through til retirement in 20 or so years!
Worth the bucks to have a solid piece of equipment.

Worth it if you must match you amp. Otherwise, make your own.

Comments about Ampeg AFP3 Triple Footswitch:

It's gonna do the job just fine. But it's expensive for such a horribly simple device. If you have the time and inclination, make it yourself and save a bunch of money. But in this case I would prefer to have the proper footswitch to match my relatively rare and like-mint amp (a Super Rocket).
Three buttons. Two channels. One stereo, one mono (though uses a stereo cable).Includes joined dual cable. The cable is very low in quality, however.Has LEDs, which I was glad to see after reading some online reviews stating that it did not.The foot clickers could "snap" a little more positively, but that is no big deal, since you have the LEDs to let you know what is up.Gets an 8. Nothing outstanding, but it provides what you need. If the cable was better and the footswitches had a more positive action, it would get a 10.
Not great, but not horrendous. Decent switch, though it is made overseas now.
Very expensive for what you get. This ought to be $30 to $40.

It does what it's intended to do

By Franz

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Ampeg AFP3 Triple Footswitch:

My only complaint is that the footswitch's overall design could be a little better. I think that they should make it a little bigger so the buttons are not as close together, and it would be nice if they used a midi-type connector instead of the dual stereo cables. Or at least included a longer cable with it. It works flawlessly, you just have to keep it somewhat close to your amp (I think it's like 13 or 15 feet) and you have to be careful to not hit another button when you don't mean to. I sometimes hit the eq switch along with the effects loop switch on accident. Just gotta get used to it is all. Built like a tank, though.
