High-priced sound at an accessible price!

A killer bass package super deal! The B-2R gives you 450W RMS power (350W @ 4 ohms, 200W @ 8). Its controls are flexible: a 3-band EQ with lows, ultra mids, and highs and a 9-band, bass-tailored graphic EQ so you can dial it in as fat or sassy as you want it. The graphic is on/off switchable from front panel. A built-in optocoupler limiter assists you in keeping it clean at high volume levels and is on/off switchable.

The BSE-410HLF Cab is the ideal unit to put under the B-2R head. It gets a tight, punchy, very playable bass sound and responds well to the head's tonal controls. The sound is round and full-bodied, with punchy highs, accentuated mids, and complete lows. It carries extended-range 4 - 10s with horn in a modern, smaller profile cab for compactness. 22-3/4"W x 25-3/4"H x 17-1/2"D. 91 lbs.

I don't understand it. This amp carries my bass (Fender Jazz w/ Seymour Duncans) so good. It's that kinda sound when you first put new strings on and you bass isn't even hooked up to your amp yet and you get that amaizing sound. Think of that amplified. That's how I would describe this amp. I have had it all from G-K, Eden, Trace, Yorkville, Aguilar, but this thing blows them all away. It happend when I went to a local dealer and I said "what the heck". Plugged in. And BAM! This thing was rockin with tone. So I took my bass over to the dealer and said, I have been dreaming about this amp, I gotta play it! I did, and a hour and a half later, after turning it up all the way, oh yeah, it doesnt distort! But yeah I got it. It's sweet. There aren't a lot of features, like reverb and all that junk, but for tone, wow this thing wins!

Ok, so here i am sittin at my comp lookin for the best halfsatck i can get for the money. I have looked at the backlines from GK and i am not impressed they look cheap and from what i read they are cheap. Now im readin about this amp and everything i read from reviews to just the technical info like watts and such I think im impressed this amp seems to be quality **** unlike say the Gallien Krueger baclines and the fender rumbles where they cut corners and use cheaper material to give you a similar product to their top of the line stuff. What Im tryin to say is someone please help a brotha out and give me some info like does the head power the cab enough? Thanks guys.

    DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!

    By Tyrade

    from Rensselaer Falls NY

i have been playing bass for some time. the band i am in play heavy music. now, you would think that this amp could handle playing with the Gain / Master and Bass all at half volume, but no. i barely turn up the volume when i play and i have already blown up 3 of the 4 speakers and had to replace them with my own money because Ampeg says its made for "mild use". all i am saying to you is, if you play bass, actually PLAY bass, you do not want this. you want something with more power handling.

    Good For beginner

    By JGorham

    from west terre haute, IN

Good ampeg amp for a beginner...You can't add another speaker cab, which kinda sucks. I've had no problems with turning up to 11 in larger venues when needed (usually only for basketball band with the local college)...try one yourself!

best gigging amp for the price

    By Mike Whicker

    from Kernersville, North Carolina

uhmm yeah I play an Ibanez Sr495 active bass into this head and cabinet and this thing just THUMPS hence my niuckname on the bass "THUMP",i keep my head enclosed in a a Gator rack case with a Korg DTR-2000 tuner and a middle atlantic rack drawer, this rack is a 350W BEAST!!!!I also play a passive Ibanez gsr205 through it and it STILL sounds great, The BSE410HLF cab bring out every bit of thump 5-strings can potentially have i go from GCGCF tuning to ADGCF, to ACGCF to ADADG to BEADG to EADGC tuning with my basses and o matter what tuning im in this combo has enough headroom and power to rbign out veyr thing i need.

    This is a rip off

    By bassplaya07

    from E-town, Ky

I got this stack because I have heard so many good things about it, but it is not what it is made out to be. I have had nuthun but trouble with it snice I have had it. I have had to have the tweeter horn replace 3 times, and the top right speaker twice. It is way over priced and I would not recamend this setup to any one.

    Nice...

    By Anonymous

I bought this amp about half a year ago and i have been very please with it, when ever i play with my band my guitarist uses a fullstack which can get pretty noisey but with this bad boy i cut right threw it and i play with my fingers so to me thats good i've only turn it up to about 8 and it still holds up with a clean punchy sound I've never had any problems with it so far, only thing that I didn't like was when I got the head there was a little uhh bump on the top of it but that could have happened during shipping neways it didnt effect the head so I really didnt care but over all this is a good amp.
