I was looking for something that was loud enough for a gig but wasn't too hard on the wallet. At first I was going to go with the GK Backline gear, but then I stumbled upon this bad larry on here, and I eventually bought this. This is my first experience with an Ampeg amp. This thing is so loud for the size, it's unbelievable. I keep the gain at 4 and master at 4 and it's perfect for practicing alone. For rehearsals with the band (two guitarists, drummer and keyboardist) I just turn up the master to 6 and I'm set. Anyway, onto the tone. The tone is great, everything that I was expecting and then some. I can get everything from a really deep, dark bass to bright sounds perfect for slap. The HF horn dial on the back allows you to dial in however much top-end you want to hear. The style selector is sort of useless, I just keep it on one setting all the time. I run a Schecter Stiletto Custom-5 through this, and the low B has great clarity, no farting or anything. The only bad thing I have to say about this is that the outside rips moderately easy; it doesn't take much to tear it. Other than that, I highly recommend this product. I'm sticking with Ampeg amps for a while.

I'm in a band and we play mostly british heavy metal. The guy who run's our rehearsing place bought new amp's for it, because of lack of space (which is pretty bad because both guitarist's have an Marshall Jcm 800, and now we have to use line 6 spider's for rehearsals!). But he baught this amp for the bass. When I first saw it I tought, "an ampeg...nice", but when I tried it out it was not what I expected. It's 220 watts, but I still have to run it at full volume to be heard (I have a 100 watt Fender bassman that I used at rehearsal's before the ampeg was bought and I never had to run it at full volume) and plus I can't get the sound I wan't(wich is pretty simular to steve harris's bass sound) ...I would not recomend this amp for anyone who is in a hard rock/Metal band....

    This Rocks

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

I have owned this 210 combo for 2 years and it is more than ample. It keeps up with my pro drummer friend who is very, very loud. For 220watts this thing just gets the job done and never had a problem once it got broken in, also never had to set past 8 in the volume department. The Eq and settings give you a nice selection to get the sound you want. Easy to move without wheels. Excellent product and make a crappy mexican P-bass sound really good... Great for recordinig as well..

Nice amp, nice idea built in tuner. Would even be a better idea if it worked. Just enough power for what I do. maybe I should have bought the 300. It does have the Ampeg sound and tat is what I wanted.

IF youre looking, JUST BUY IT!!!

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

Ive been playing bass for about 5 years now. My old amp actually caught fire, i mean literal flames while i was playing it in my room. Anyways, i knew everyone talked about AMPEG when it came to bass. So i figured, why get a crappy amp when i could get one from one of the most trusted names when it comes to bass? I got this baby, plugged it in and it sounds EPIC. Even our guitarist who's an extreme perfectionist agreed that the quality was outstanding. The tone is great, amazing lows. And i was afraid of the volume. I used it at our first gig, turned up to about 9 or so, and it worked great. Worth ever dollar, i promise you. BUY THIS AMP, DO NOT waste your money on anything else.

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

This is a great amp. I'm into thrash music more than anything, and if you don't know, that kind of music DEMANDS raw power. This amp has it, and it's easy to wheel around. Weighs about 90 pounds, so you can easily be your own roadie! WORTH IT FOR REAL!!!

    It fits

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

I play an American Jazz bass. With it's unique sound this combo amp really makes it stand out. I've been lugging around a heavey Peavey 412 cabinet with a 700 watt head for years. It's nice to have great sound in a smaller package. The onboard tuner is very handy, especially when playing outside with temp changes.

    Powerful bass tone!

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

This is my second bass amp. I had an old Kustom amp and boy what a difference! The tone is warm and meaty! Combine this amp with my Gene Simmons Punisher bass and the tone is FAT! I got a sound similar to this "signature" sound but then again he uses SVT equipment. Don't be fooled by others... Ampeg IS bass amplification.

    Totally Cool

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

This amp is awesome. I just bought this amp a week ago and I love it. My favorite part is the cd input. You can play cd's through your amp and play along at the same time. It also has 5 different syles to choose from for tone. The only thing that I hate is that it is so heavy and I stay up stairs and that do not help at all. Make sure you consider if you can tote it by yourself or not(female's).

    Nice amp with punch

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

I was looking for a smaller combo amp with punch to minimize the amount of gear I need to move for gigs. This amp is great for small and medium sized clubs. For large clubs I just pump additional bass through my monitors.I like how this amp has the capacity to handle an extended range bass (Conklin GT-7), though the low B distorts and fuzzes at higher volumes. I do like how the higher ranges cna be brought out more to help balance the overall sound. Built in effects are a nice added option.Balanced out XLR allows direct link to snake and PA but I would like to see them add additonal outputs to chain this into something like a single 15" cabinet, which would really add to the overal stage sound. It certianly has enough power to do so.It has wheels and handles on both sides as well as the top. On stage it sits on top of my rack unit so it is closer to ear level.Overall it is a solid combo amp that seems up to the rtask while allowing for easy moving. I think the price is a little steep for what you get, though.

    Where's the power?

    By David-unJBz

    from Racine, Wisconsin

Comments about Ampeg BA-210 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this and used it the next night. It sounds good but has no power at all. I was playing a small club with only a guitar player going through a 1x12 Blues Junior and a not loud drummer to keep up with. It failed miserably, after a few tunes I had it up to 10 and it was barely audible. So the next night I took my Eden rig and was happy. I still wanted a combo though so I sent it back and got a Peavey TNT, I took it back to the same club two weeks later and it blew the Ampeg away completely. It is light and it does sound good but if you want some volume then look elsewhere.
