I have owned this amp for two years. I Take it out for small club shows once or twice a week, I've recorded an album with it. The style selecter is a never ending fountain of versatility, the effects add to this fountain. However I don't have a use for the effects in my band, but I like to spend my personal practice time using them. The top handle is unnecessary & I'd like the side handles a little lower. I have not had any technical difficulty other than the mounting screws for the power amp came loose with hours of high volume playing, lock-tight & a screw-driver fix that. I took the side handles off & added some thin sound dampening material inside to cure resinate note unevenness. I love my Ampeg & will buy Ampeg again when I need an Up grade.

I'm a recording engineer and just did a session with this guy. In technical terms, this amp is 100Hz and little else. The cabinet is poorly shaped and the ports are set to creat HUGE resonance around 100Hz. So you have a really boomy sound with no balls. The amp section is a joke. There's tons of dials and switches but none of them seem to have just a normal bass amp sound. Then you add on those cheap/useless digital effects. I've worked with the version of this amp that has a single 15" speaker and it's the same story. If you want a good bass sound for not a lot of money, look elsewhere. It took us an hour of fiddling with this thing to get something that was even passible and it still took a ton of EQ in post.

Traded in my Behringer 410 for this little beast at a local pawn shop. Originally i used to think Ampeg's were overpriced, but after a solid 2 years of playing this little hoss, i can say i'm a convert. I play a 73 p-bass, and the tone you get out of this thing is just awesome. Nice, thick, fat tone. Yeah, i agree with everyone else, the effects really are worthless, BUT for the price i payed to get this thing i wouldn't trade it for the world. Good solid little US built amp.

I got this thing at a pawn shop for real cheap. It was my first bass amp. The effects were kinda cool for the first day or two then they were just there and really useless to me. Good for a bassy kinda jazzy sound but really not good for a hard, fat, punchy sound. All in all its an OK bass amp. If you really wanna know about it just go down to a music shop and test it out.

This is an amazing amp I own it. It has an amazing tone and I think if you're gonna play bass play it right with Ampeg. If it's good for Victor Wooten it's good for you.

I've played this amp a few weeks in the past, and be warned! This amp lacks punch, strange however it has two 10" drivers, it can't deliver punch. Not one of the effects. Thus impacts the volume the amp can produce, not much. But the bass sounds nice, but there is NO PUNCH.

I bought this amp for worship services and it rocks ! I play four services every weekend for about 250 people each service. It has no problems keeping up with the rest of the band at a very low volume. I run a BOSS Limiter Enhancer and aBOSS EQ through the amp and it has the sweestest, fattest sound. I use the chorus effect but have nouse for the remaining effects, although I like to use them while praticing. I would recommend this amp to any who wants a small unit with big sound.

ok, i bought this amp about 3 months ago, its awesome. its got great tone the effects work properly. but it just isnt loud enough, you will have to buy a power booster if you were to play a gig with this, but if its just for yourself its great

I bought this amp about 6 months ago and it was worth every penny. I've played a ton of shows with it and it has been perfect! I rarely ever need more than 4 volume. It's perfect for the intermediate musician who will be playing concerts and practicing. BUY!

When I was shopping around for a new amp, I thought i wanted to go with a cab and separate head; until i played this amp. This amp is perfect in so many ways. You can play any style of music and this thing will deliver for all. I use it at small concerts and performances and i only have to turn up the level to about 3 (possible 10). The digital effects are a cool feature but i dont really use them that much. The low end sounds great and the horn makes the high end sound just as good. The style selector is also nice to cater to the style you are playing. I would reccommend this amp to any intermediate player or experienced player. Its a little pricy but it is worth it when you hear it. But of course a good bass helps!

This combo has what it takes to play just about any venue. This is my second Ampeg and like my first, it definitely does not disappoint. The effects allow me to achieve any sound with any of my basses. This amp is wonderful!
