    Portable, powerful, and toneful.

At just 50 pounds, you'll wonder how Ampeg crammed so many features into it's BA300/210 bass combo. Although it packs dual 10" LF drivers, a HF horn (with Level control), and 300 Watts of pure Ampeg output into its small frame, this combo is ultra-transportable. It even includes a set of removable casters, so you're ready to roll whenever you've got a gig or need to take it to the garage for practice. The bass amp gives you all the Ampeg tone-shaping you've grown accustomed to thanks to its 12AX7 tube preamp, Style control, 3-Band EQ, and Ultra-High/Low switches.

In order to keep the weight factor low without sacrificing power output, Ampeg integrated a Class-D switching power supply. They also gave it a variable compressor and a selectable pre/post XLR tube DI with Level control. All together, it makes Ampeg BA300/210 amplifier ideal for the semi-pro to professional player seeking superb tone-sculpting options, extreme portability, and SVT-level output.

I have read reviews on this amp that were very discouraging. People said that this amp rattles and buzzes, but i have never had a problem with it. As with any tube amp, you have to let the amp warm up for a moment or it will buzz, but this happens with even the most expensive amps. This ampeg has absolutely great tone and it is very versatile. It's nice because I can get great tone quietly when recording (the di is great for this), or crank it up for a show. Don't be deceived by it's size, this amp has huge sound. If your looking for an ampeg, but don't have two grand to drop on an svt, this is as close as your going to get. worth the price, you wont be disappointed.

I'm reporting back after a year of use. I gave this amp a favorable initial review with a wait and see attitude. Well my worst fears were realized and I got rid of this junk just like my other 3 Chinese Ampegs. It started out great, great tone, nice features and then the cabinet started buzzing and vibrating jusy like the others. The chassis on these things just don't hold up. The support screws come loose and it basically just starts to fall apart. I took it apart a few times and tightened all the screws that support the amp section but they kept on coming loose again. For the price you pay for Chinese Ampegs these just are not worth the price.Ampeg better wake up soon because they are losing market share very fast with this junk they're putting out. Just my opinion.

    Comments about Ampeg BA300 / 210 2 x 10 Bass Combo Amp:

I got this Amp in november 2012 and I just had the opportunity to use it a few times. It started great but all of a sudden it broke down, in the middle of a performance it suddendly stopped working. I took it to a qualified repair shop and they told me that it was a complete mess inside since the power supply card was broken and the 8 output transistors were also broken. I bought this Amp restocked but for me it was a complete scam. No worth at all!! At the time of purchase it was clear that the Amp was not brand new but I thought that buying this from a reliable vendor could be enough guarantee that the Amp would work reasonably well or at least for some time... just the opposite! I feel betrayed... I will not buy from this vendor again...!

    Little Big Amp

    By Chris Ashley

    Comments about Ampeg BA300 / 210 2 x 10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this little amp because I wanted something portable with great sound and when needed,VOLUME! This amp delivers! It can keep up with my buddies 100 watt guitar halfstack! Mine does not rattle - I don't sit on it nor have I dropped it down some stairs. However it does loose a star in the quality section, the knobs don't point straight at the markings on the face of the amp. And I've just read another reviewer state he uses a 115 cab with the line out, I want to try that, some guy at ampeg e-mailed me back saying that was not possible!?!

    Very impressed

    Comments about Ampeg BA300 / 210 2 x 10 Bass Combo Amp:

I just bought mine recently and have been blown away with the tone. I went into guitar center not expecting to spend much money but after trying out the various combo amps they had, this one clearly sounded the best. I understand they are made in China so perhaps not all of them are made consistently at the same quality. I would highly recommend this amp to anyone wanting to do gigs who doesn't want to lug around a huge amp. It's been a huge step up from my acoustic b100.

    The perfect bass combo amp!

    By Emilio-7GKOq

    Comments about Ampeg BA300 / 210 2 x 10 Bass Combo Amp:

After doing a lot of research for a portable bass combo amp with at least 200 watts and great tone, I settled on the AMPEG BA300/210 and I could not be happier. This is an excellent bass combo amp.It weighs about 60lbs so it's fairly easy to lift and it comes on wheels. The amp is small yet has A LOT of power and the tone is absolutely fantastic. It has several knobs for dialing in your own tone, tube preamp, compressor, effects loop, pre/post line out, separate inputes for passive/active, mute switch.... It is absolutely fantastic and it is the perfect bass combo amp that I have been looking for, plus it looks very cool. I play regularly in bars and small/medium clubs with the line out going to the p.a. system and this amp is perfect.I did read the other reviews complaining about the amp "rattling" when hitting some notes. I actually bought my amp in person and tested out several basses and I was looking out for this problem and what I noticed is that when I tested the amp with a Warwick bass that had MEC humbucking pickups and the action was real low and the strings were virtually right on top of the pickups and I played the strings with a very hard attack that the sound came out very distorted and "rattling-like" however there was no rattling whatsoever from the amp and it seemed obvious to me that that was a result of the bass and the way it was set-up with the strings right on top of these huge pickups and not of the amp. I can imagine someone thinking that was the fault of the amp when in fact it was not. I play a 5 string Fender Jazz Bass with low action and the sound of the B-string is fantastic, no rattling or distortion of any kind, the tone is perfect.Believe me, I can't rate this amp high enough. I'm extremely happy with it and have used it on quite a few gigs already. If you are looking for a portable bass combo amp with great power, tone, and features, I highly recommend this amp.

    Disappointed

    By Triscale's KB

    Comments about Ampeg BA300 / 210 2 x 10 Bass Combo Amp:

I've had one of these for a year or so now. At my last gig it stopped working several times, I'd suddenly have no sound and had to turn it off and then back on for the sound to slowly come back in at a lower volume then cut out again later. I'm an unconventional bass player, I play a split keyboard and the bass sound routes to this Ampeg so I've wondered if I'm doing something wrong; but after reading several reviews of this model and the other BAs (incl the 600) I know it isn't me. I was always bothered by the fact that it rattles so loud I can hear it over the notes I'm playing, and now I know that isn't normal and happens to a lot of people and it's due to poor construction. I did love the tone, just not the rattle. I sometimes have to all but max the volume to be heard which I shouldn't have to do with a 300 watt amp - my last amp was a 60 watt Fender Bassman and it wasn't loud enough but this one should really blow that one away and it doesn't. I've seen that others have also complained about the amps in this line not being as loud as they should be. The first one I received didn't work at all and I had to return it. On the plus side it looks great and is lightweight and would have a great sound without the rattle. I can't say it's a good value because for me it's a big investment and too much to pay for poor quality. I rated the features high because it's the quality not the features that are a problem. I'll probably have to invest in a head/cab combo now, and while I love the Ampeg sound I'm afraid now of poor quality because of this experience. I didn't expect this from an Ampeg.

    It's been good so far

    Comments about Ampeg BA300 / 210 2 x 10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this to replace an Ampeg BA115HPT which had cabinet buzzing issues. I took a chance getting this because I think Ampeg has some design flaw issues with their combos. The Ampeg BA115HPT that I traded to get this was my third amp that had serious buzzing problems when hitting certain notes. This one hasn't started to do this yet and it's been a good amp. I question the the SVT level output claims. It's rated at 300 watts but this amp doesn't get very loud. I think my old amp at 220 watts had more power. So far other than lack of power this has been an OK amp
