Ampeg took their Classic SVT rig, the sonic reference point by which all other bass amps are measured, and made it manageable and functional. It pumps out 100W of power at 8 ohms from its solid-state head which is perfect for smaller gigs and rehearsals. The Micro-CL delivers the unique sound that bass players all over the world have come to expect from their rigs. Featuring classic Ampeg grille cloth, Tolex and trim, you can spot an Ampeg SVT rig from the other side of the stadium or the other side of the living room.

Great practice amp. I thought it may have enough beef for a small/med gig, but when I tried to add enough bass for a bass-ier tone, at the level I had it (not cranked) the cabinet just couldn't handle it, and started farting out. In my opinion only, this is a manufacturing/design defect, considering the amp and cabinet go together, and you cannot buy them seperately. Overall though, a great practice amp, and I assume recording amp. Own the coolest practice rig on the block with this one!

I have nothing against this fine piece of machinery. It works like a champ, except for the fact it blew one of the 10's out in a matter of 3 months after purchasing. Wouldn't even turn the volume past 5, and no I was not using an active bass. Maybe its just my luck. Although it would be nice to know what kind of 10 it is so I can get the correct replacement. I was also thinking of modifying the cab to run my effects through it in a live performance, also so I could run a bigger head through it. But Idk

I bought this amp based on my experience with Ampegs over time. I was not disappointed. It has a quality sound, feel, and touch, with excellent build quality as well. For a small amp, the deep bass it provides is everything I hoped for and rivals my bigger amps. Controls are straightforward and angled so you can see them easily while standing. This is a great amp for practice or playing intimate venues.

This was a great deal! I had to get one after reading all of the great reviews and seeing the latest article in Premier Guitar where it received 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. This thing can crank so don't let it's small size fool you and the 100W head can easily power a larger cabinet. The only real complaint is the cab can become a bit muddled when the volume is cranked but replacing the cabinet with one of higher quality def shows it's this cabinet! But all in all great practice/jamming amp.
