A high-gain preamp that puts ENGL-like overdrive at your feet.

The AMT Legend Amps Series E1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal is the preliminary amplifier for the fans of “juicy” sound with resilient mids. It emulates the Lead channel of such legends as the ENGL Fireball*. AMT Legend Amps E-1 is the resilient, aggressive distortion, for which ENGL* amps are famous. The wide range of sensitivity adjustment allows you to receive classic biting rock sound with minimum efforts. At bigger distortion the sound acquires “metallic” colors with great sustain, bright flageolets and readability of even complex chords at any distortion level characteristic of Engl* amps.

“AMT Legend Amps” is a new revolutionary series of one-channel preamps from AMT Electronics, developed with a new approach to guitar sound formation. Original circuitry was used to produce analog modeling of the physical processes occurring in real vacuum tubes. AMT Legend Amps possess a number of unique features found in real tube preamps and amplifiers:

• Preamps included into AMT Legend Amps series provide excellent playing dynamics characteristic to real tube-based devices and are in no way inferior to them.
• With the limitation range similar to tube channel the preamps of the series ensure terrific thickness and power to the resulting sound. Working with AMT Legend Amps preamps you won’t feel the urge to cut out the most informative middle frequencies, which in turn will provide great readability of your guitar in the sound mix.
• Like tube preamps AMT Legend amps provide gradual increase of the limiting stages number as the gain grows.
• The series’ preamps use passive circuits of tone shaping which are in full conformity with the tone controls during original tube overdrives.
• The high level of output signal of AMT Legend Amps (+10 dB at max Level position) corresponds to the tube preamps’ output signal levels. Thus you have adjustable signal level that makes it possible to connect the preamps to any input (RETURN, DIRECT, LINE etc.) including INPUT POWER AMP

Comments about AMT Electronics Legend Amps Series E1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

For TWO YEARS I have been looking at this pedal. After buying a different pedal, I was sure that I had found my pedal of choice until I listened to some demos of the AMT E1. Yes, it is a pre-amp so it's recommended you don't plug this into the front of the amp; but I just HAD to try it.

Whether in the front or connected to the FX Loop, the AMT E1 resonates a crunchy and powerful tone without being ridiculous on the gain and fuzz (like the EH pedal I bought). It may take some fine tweaking to get the PERFECT tone we all strive for; but give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Smoking Rock Tones!

Comments about AMT Electronics Legend Amps Series E1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I use this in the fx return of my beat up but tried and true Marshall AVT 50. It's now a new amp that blisters the original stock preamp section. And although I lose the two channel amp setup, rolling back on my Schecter PT volume cleans up to a nice grit with minimal volume loss.
The closed back of the amp really pushes the low end creating monstrous drop tuning tones. Tried this with active pickup guitars, ok but my passive guitars smoke thru it. I think it might take to SS poweramp sections a little better but I'm sure cab and speaker varieties will affect overall tone also. I also bought the B-1 and like that one even better.
