A preamp that puts powerful American rock tones at your feet.

The AMT Legend Amps Series P1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal was designed to create tones similar to those of the esteemed Peavey 5150*. The sound of the AMT P1 is rich and full in tone, providing tube-like rock distortion. Well defined, clean, clear, cutting, crunchy distortion is what the P1's all about.

"AMT Legend Amps" is a new revolutionary series of one-channel preamps from AMT Electronics, developed with a new approach to guitar sound formation. Original circuitry was used to produce analog modeling of the physical processes occurring in real vacuum tubes. AMT Legend Amps possess a number of unique features found in real tube preamps and amplifiers:

¢ Preamps included into AMT Legend Amps series provide excellent playing dynamics characteristic to real tube-based devices and are in no way inferior to them.
¢ With the limitation range similar to tube channel the preamps of the series ensure terrific thickness and power to the resulting sound. Working with AMT Legend Amps preamps you won't feel the urge to cut out the most informative middle frequencies, which in turn will provide great readability of your guitar in the sound mix.
¢ Like tube preamps AMT Legend amps provide gradual increase of the limiting stages number as the gain grows.
¢ The series' preamps use passive circuits of tone shaping which are in full conformity with the tone controls during original tube overdrives.
¢ The high level of output signal of AMT Legend Amps (+10 dB at max Level position) corresponds to the tube preamps' output signal levels. Thus you have adjustable signal level that makes it possible to connect the preamps to any input (RETURN, DIRECT, LINE etc.) including INPUT POWER AMP

  • The AMT Legend Amp Series guitar pedals provide excellent dynamics, nuances, and characteristics similar to that of tube driven amplifiers
  • Tube-like range of volume control provides great sound density, playability, and power when playing at full volume and also in conjunction with your guitars volume knob
  • TRUE BYPASS. The preamps of the Legend Amp Series pedals use passive true bypass circuitry, therefore no loss of guitar signal is noticed in your pedal chain. Similar to if no pedal was there at all when bypassed
  • Features high level of output signal (+10dB in extreme position of Level knob) corresponds to the output levels similar of tube preamps. Thus, you have adjustable signal level allowing to hook up your preamp AND direct input of a power amplifier
  • Controls include LEVEL, GAIN, LOW, MID, and HIGH

The Best of Analog Pedal Preamps

By James Gelber

Comments about AMT Electronics Legend Amps Series P1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have never been able to afford the quality sound of a tube amp and this was the perfect solution. Its a Preamp so DONT PLUG IT IN THE FRONT OF THE AMP!!! Its made to drive poweramps and Poweramp sections. Combined with a great tube power amp this thing sings!

Comments about AMT Electronics Legend Amps Series P1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

So, I just recieved the AMT Electronics P2!! Yes, musiciansfriend, there is a Legend amps series II out with a "CLEAN" channel level control, which works on the preamp and cabinet outputs. Anyways, this pedal is the best sounding distortion/preamp I have ever used. I must say it is spot on replicating the beloved Peavey 6505/5150. I know this because I used to own a Block letter 5150, and I've played through numbers of 6505s. This is a quality product for ANY ROCK/METAL guitarist(who wants a high gain tone.)

    Would buy again!!!

Comments about AMT Electronics Legend Amps Series P1 Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've owned 5150's and 6505's, if your expecting 5150 or 6505 performance save your money and buy one. I'm just done with tube amps. With that being said the gain of this preamp is amazing. Lots of "usable" gain! The EQ is very responsive. The level knob can get out of control fast. By itself it sounds a little "flat". I run mine along side the M1 and B1, into a digitech rp1000 (for fx and to set a lil more eq) into two quilter tone blocks into a blackstar series one 412. I'm very pleased with these pedals and the tone. They are very easy to dial in. Everything about them is just easy. I'm sure this point, they are preamps not distortion pedals, has been beat to death, but it's worth mentioning just so no one says they weren't told. I've only used them for practice and live performance, I haven't used them to record yet. I play in an 80's cover band (dokken, RATT, queensryche) I use this preamp probably about 80% of the time vs the other two I have, and like I said I'm very happy with my pedal. (Might be good to mention that these pedals are true bypass..may or may not be important to some players, I originally had a P2, the legend 2 series are not true bypass they have a passive bypass that did not work for me, being that I run more than one preamp in series. And "no" I don't turn more than one on at the same time. I use different preamps for different tones for different songs.)
