I have been playing bass for two years and have been using this pedal for half of that time, and i must say that I have nothing to complain about.I bought the pedal for twelve dollars, and for that chump change, my sound has been greatly contributed to.Pushing the distortion level up on it will produce a very smooth distortion which is comparable to Queens of the Stone Age.The less dramatic levels are perfect for blues or classic rock.I have found that if combined with the Filter effect on my Line6 LowDown combo, it produces a very neat synth-esque sound.

I mainly play guitar, but I dabble at the bass on the side. I wanted to get a distortion pedal to be able to use to dink around with and experiment, so I chose to buy the cheapest one that I could find: this one, for only $15. The first day that I used the pedal, I couldn't believe how great it sounded. I was achieving very good tone (Queens Of The Stone Age-ish) and I was very pleased. But then after the first day, I couldn't find any of that again. The distortion was cutting out on higher notes that I played (mainly on the low E string) which isn't fun; my low E string altogether wasn't very loud- as in this pedal some how reduced the volume and bass of the low E string; lastly, the battery life this thing gets is quite silly. The battery died out before I had even used the pedal for at least one hour total time. Granted, some of my sound problems may be due to the fact that I use a squier bass and squier bass amp, beginner equipment. But besides that excuse, I wouldn't recommend this pedal to you. I have a friend that uses a Boss overdrive pedal, and that thing is very reliable. In this case though, you get what you pay for, which isn't much.

Arion MDI-2 Bass Distortion

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

My friend bought it, and i have had the occasion to use it at times. It was decent, but kind of sounded bad with the style i was playing that day (jazz), however, I did like the fact that i had a different choice as opposed to the standard bass tone. Also works well to get that pre-distortion "hum."

not quite worth the money

I bought this pedal a little over a year ago. It did not live up to my expectations. It was weak, you can barely tell whether its on or off. It hsa a tempting price, but dont fall into that trap. Spend a few extra bucks and get something better.

It's ok for beginners.

By Bass Masta-5hnHk

Yes, its a "ok" pedal for beginners and is on a low budget. When I bought it, it was pretty great, at first. But after a While I started to have problems. One, the sound kinda "goes away." When I'm playing, high notes just seem out-of-tune and on the weak side and low notes just rumble. There is a lot of buzzing and battery just does not last long. Tone sucks, and it doesn't work on the more expensive and powerful basses. Really, I wish I didn't buy it.

Nice Bass Distortion Pedal

By Bassist From Wisconsin

from Milwaukee

This was a great pedal, looks a little cheap. But its great, it made some rich tones and when you crank the distortion, it brings out nice metal tone. Its a good all around petal for starters to amateur to profestional players.

Arion Bass Distortion Pedal

I got this effect for x-mas. It's a great effect to just mess around with. The distortion is great and the pedal is in great condition. For the price, it's a great buy.

You get what you pay for, obviously, but it actually works pretty darn well for that cheap.

My bass player bought this because he wanted a distortion pedal, but was on a budget. This pedal gives my band the extra punch that we were looking for. I would suggest getting a digitech, but its good if u dont have a lot of money.

If you need distortion for your bass, this is it.

By nick-RZpIl

I've found this pedal to be very reliable and portable. It's good for a low distortion sound, or if you mess around with the the tone and distortion knobs, it can be used as a boost pedal.

Po' Mans Distortion

By Anonymous

I wanted bass distortion, but I was dirt poor. So I bought this one. As I began to use more and more I realized that it wasn't too great. I has more fuzz than distortion. I wouldn't recommend it.

It's iight...

By nasal discharges

This product takes a little getting used to (however, that might be me because this is my first pedal). Nice stuff, just it's easy to "over-distort" and become annoying. But you get your money's worth.

O K distortion pedal

This pedal is a good deal if all you want is distortion, especially if you're on a budget, but if you save, you can get a digitech, which naturally, like all digitechs, gives you an awesome sound for an awesome price.

I think that, overall, this is a pretty decent product. Especially for how much it costs. It's a good beginner distortion pedal.

This is the only pedal I own right now. I like this pedal because it makes my bass sound all funky. This is a good pedal for me because I like to play hard rock.

I've played a lot better pedals, but if you are on a budget this will definitely do the job.
