Comments about Ashdown BassOmeter Bass Tuner Pedal:

Best bass tuner I have ever used! VU and LED meters so you can choose your preference. Surprised with how bright the LEDs are on this Pedal. Built like a tank and tunes faster than any other bass tuner I have ever used.

Comments about Ashdown BassOmeter Bass Tuner Pedal:

I've been playing for about 45 years now. Yep, I'm that old. I have a huge collection of basses. The harmonics on higher end active basses give virtually all tuners a run for the money. Ended up with a BOSS Chromatic Pedal Tuner to replace my Korg Rackmount. I'm doing some drop "E" to "D" tuning in between songs and could no longer look back at the rack mount tuner. Bad stage presence. The Boss reacts quickly but is so small that it can be hard to see on a dark stage. Ad to that RED only LEDS and if the stage lights are red, you see nothing. Read the previous review and decided to take a chance. Build Quality is Incredible. Size of the display is the largest I've seen. These old eyes like it BIG! Although the "Note Read Out" is in red, the tuning lights are in blue which means regardless of red or blue stage lights you'll see something to help you tune. Sounds perfect, right? Well, it fails miserably with Low E and B strings. It takes so long to track that is become useless for "On the fly drop D" Built for Stage but not speedy enough to make it a 5 star product. Tempted to return but I'll keep it and continue the search.

Ashdown Bassometer Bass Tuner with True Bypass Switching

Comments about Ashdown BassOmeter Bass Tuner Pedal:

I have several Sabine tuners and while I really like them, they are accurate but fragile. In other words, don't drop them....Most all tuners, including the Boss Stage tuner do well with tracking the notes untill you get to the big"E" string.Hitting a false harmonic at the 12th fret works BUT the intonation at the saddles must be correct first (one reason you NEED a good tuner )..Open "E" strings go crazy and will be all over the place and many tuners will not track the note before it fades away..The Ashdown will pause on the open "E" (while all this flucuation is going on) then track the note for you..If only for this reason...I am glad to have this tuner..and it is built like a tank..P.S...when I was researching this tuner,I contacted Ashdown in England.A tech by name of Mark Gooday answered all my questions.I have since learned that Mark is the CEO of Ashdown...THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!
Besides the LED's you have an old school rotary type guage that shows if you are at A440.(Think of late 70's early 80's Justina tuners)
Very sturdy and heavy duty.Well built metal housing.Would be very good for steady gigging bass players.
Price wise, very good for a pro gear tuner.
