Electric Blue loads legendary Ashdown tone into an affordable high-performance, high-value combo.

The Electric Blue EVO II 1x15 Bass Combo uses a 180-watt RMS fan-cooled fast-transient power stage. It features a fully-featured bass preamplifier with inputs for both active and passive instruments, an illuminated VU meter; 5-band EQ with Bright and Deep switches; a front panel-mounted balanced DI output for connection to a PA or recording console; an FX loop; a tuner/line output; and the classic Ashdown sub-harmonic generator.

Consistent with its EVO II status, this combo also includes a built-in compressor to provide an exceptional level of sonic control for a bass amp of this size and cost.

A high-performance Ashdown bass driver ensures exceptional attack, clarity, and low-end performance, while an extension speaker output can be used to connect an additional cabinet for use in larger venues. The cabinet is finished in a tough, retro-style vinyl covering.

Comments about Ashdown EB 15-180 Electric Blue EVO II 180W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this amp almost six years ago. I play an Ibanez sr400 through it with active pickups. I primarilly used this at home as my only amp for about three and a half years. I started playing whith the worship team at Church almost two years ago. At first it was plenty of power in the venue we had along with only two accoustic guitarists. We eventually moved to a much larger space as our congrigation grew. The room we play in now is about 1600 square feet and averages 80-90 people a week. The Church bought a sound system that projects tthree guitars, three vocals and an electronic drum set. This 180 electric blue amp ALMOST keeps up with them. The only problem is that people in the back of the room cannot hear me as I get drowned out.

Now the negatives. There are no effects built into it save for the sub harmonics, which I personally don't like although a lot of people do; personal preferences is all; that feture does work very good. I would like a distortion and reverb option (at the very least reverb). The sound is very clean. I play with the input and output volumes at 100% with NO issues from the speaker.

Overall, this is a very good amp for small gigs and such; more than what you need for practicing solo. As a master carpenter I have determined that this amp is built with the utmost of quality. It is kinda heavy so I bought a small luggage dolly and tie-down strap at Wally-World for about $15 and that's become a permanent part of the amp! Worth the money. I mean, this thing is almost six years old with NO issues. Granted, I pamper everything I spend my hard earned money on but still... it is six years old and has been lugged around to Church and back numerous times. Up and down the stairs in my home.
