Comments about Ashdown Five Fifteen 100W Bass Practice Amp:
I picked up one of these over four years ago to use at home for personal practice. It was really easy to get a REALLY nice tone out of it quickly. The controls are very basic, but very effective. It does feature an aux input for practicing to tracks. A handy feature for some, I'm sure, but never having used it personally, I can't really speak to it's functionality. It also has low boost circuit that is quite effective at low volumes - once the db levels start going up it gets floppy sounding quick, though. Output-wise it's surprisingly loud for a 100 watt single 15 bass combo. I've actually done quite a few small shows with it at this point.
I've never had any problems with it at all and it hasn't exactly been babied over the years. If I had a complaint it would be the aux speaker situation. As this amp will ONLY run at 8 ohms, you have to disconnect the internal speaker to hook up another cabinet, which basically turns it into a gigantic, really heavy low wattage amp head. I'd rather see a direct out or headphone jack. All in all a great practice amp for not much money.
