Comments about Ashdown TourBus 10 Practice Amp:

I got the TourBus 10 to keep in my home office so I could practice on my five-string bass as opportunity presents itself. It fits the bill well:
- small footprint so it doesn't take up much space and I can just leave it in place (I can also see where this would make a great travel practice amp for the same reason)
- great sound, with good definition even on my low B string (quite the surprise for a 6.5" speaker!)
- I can plug in my mp3 player or my computer to have "play with the band" capability (I use Notation Composer to create files where I can mute the bass totally so I'm really playing with the band).
- Headphone sound is excellent.
There is no line out to use it for recording, but I could probably use a signal splitter on the headphone out to accomplish that if needed.
Excellent piece of kit.

Comments about Ashdown TourBus 10 Practice Amp:

This is a very cool little amp with a nice retro vibe. It seems well built, and has some useful features like the MP3 and headphone jack. Simple controls makes it easy to dial in a multitude of different tones. My only issue is how quiet it is. I have a hollow body Gretsch bass, which is very loud acoustically, and when I plugged it into this amp, I had to turn it up to 7 before I could hear the amp over the bass! And if I maxed it to 9.5 or 10, the amp became very "farty" and had an unpleasant tone. I guess it's alittle unfair that I tested it with the naturally loud Gretsch, and only the Gretsch, but that's my bass. If I had a normal solid body laying around, I'm sure it would react much better. Bottom line is it's a nice little late night practice amp, very quiet, but for some basses may be too quiet.
