I really love this cab hooked up to my b-52 ST-100 100W tube amp. It screams, it is fully warenteed for 5 years on the speakers and lifetime on the cabinet!!! This cannot be beat, great company, great service, USA made. It will give you the lows, mids, and highs that metal players crave and flip it down a couple steps, and get a creamy jazz sound that you can groove to all night. why isn't it in your cart yet? buy this amp NOW!
I have owned the B-52 for about a year now and the only word I can say about this cabinet is, "Perfection". This cabinet, along with a Marshall VS100 head; a Gibson custom, and a Boss- Metal Zone, is the best sounding, best handling, best performing cabinet i have ever played. It has outrageous, heavy distortion; a sweet, deep low end; and a clean sound that portrays the beauty of Aphrodite herself. At a price of under $500,nothing can beat this cabinet in any way at all. This cabinet is every technical guitar player's dream come true. Why would you want anything else?
I bought this cab because it was cheap and all i could afford at the time. Used it for about a year. Sounds ok, but nothing special. Recently I was able to upgrade to a Marshall 1960 B cab and oh my god what a difference. I can't even describe how much better it sounds. Learned my lesson - do not by cheap gear if you want good sound.
First of all I am 53 years old and I grew up during the 60's. At that time the only thing I knew about a half/full stack, were the line of amps Vox put out. We all thought that if The Beetles used them they must be good. I didn't have the money for those amps so I used a 65 watt Fender delux. In other words. This is the first speaker cabniet I have purchased. I'm not going to be able to say it's better or worse than a Marshall, Mesa, Randall, etc. I have matched this with the new Kustom Quad 200 amp head. What I do know, this thing will move the earth. Not being a medal player, I still know some things about the music. This is a very low priced cabinet that metal players would love. The lows, mids, and highs are all there. If you want a good cabinet without paying a fortune, this is it. Oh yes, the clean comes out very good as well. It has 8ohm speakers, so if you use a 4ohm head you will be getting about 168 watts. I always read reviews before I but any product. It is my hope that this review will assist you in your decistion. By the way, I play classic rock, blues, and some country.
I just happened to have owned mine for about a year now. I was looking for a cab that's made of stern stuff but didn't break the bank. I didn't like the original speakers and upgraded them to Celestion G12T-75's. Man what a difference. Now I have a cheaper version of 1960A. I'm going to do the same with a straight cab and fill them with V30's as time goes by! If only they made it thicker, that would be awesome, but a heavier back breaker!
This cabinet is great. I have the matching lg-100 head and it sounds AMAZING! This amp has lots of low end, in fact, i have trouble keeping the low end down enough.
I'm no expert when it comes to amp cabniets. However, having some of the best equipment you can buy, I do know good sound. I've always been a tube person, having Fender Vintage amps. Didn't care for the Marshalls, but that is just my feeling. I decided I wanted to have a amp and speaker cabniet that I could turn up and not worry about blowing tubes or speakers. Seeing this B-52 412LG at Guitar Center, trusting in one of the sales people I knew. This cabinet was sold on the spot. Then my search started, looking for a amp to match this cabniet. I bought the new Kustome Quad 200 amp head and paired it with the B-52LG. This thing will make you balls rattle when it is turned up. As far as I'm concerened, why pay twice the price for another amp cabniet. B-52 is made of great quality and will play loud and clean, or dirty if you like.
I bought this LG-412S to go with my Crate half stack GLX1200H. When I connected the B-52 to the Crate 4X12 making it a full stack. Had I have turned it past 4, it would have peeled the paint off the walls. Great amp, great price. Marshall may be better, but no one will notice when you play this thing. The price is half of what a cheaper Marshall cabniet cost. BUY IT. My Gibson Les Paul Classic makes this baby smoke.
