I've had this vibe for a few years know. I got it shortly after it was first introduced by BBE. They did an excellent job of creating an affordable, great-sounding vibe that never fails to bring a smile to my face. The internal trim-pot is a nice feature to have if you want to tweak the tone just a bit. Like a lot of players, I think it would be nice to be able to adjust this as a third knob on the outside. However, that's a minor quibble. If you grew up listening to the recordings of Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock and the Fillmore East as well as those first few Robin Trower albums, you have to check out the Soul Vibe.

This thing sounded great, it didn't pop like the Lovepedal Vibe but it wouldn't work with another BBE pedal, the Mind Bender. When both were turned on they wouldn't work? Weirdest thing?? They both sounded great, but I had to send them both back. I commend MF for their return policy. I will say the Soul Vibe does sound more like a phaser, it gets washed out with too much fuzz of OD, the sound you get is more Curtis Mayfield vs. Hendrix or Trower. I prefer a deeper, real, univibe sound but I have to admit this thing sound pretty good, especially at under $100. Worth a try, if you get a lemon send it back.

Musician's freind ships quick as they have a warehouse in Kansas City, MO. So my free 8 day ground shipping arived in 48 hours!
Sounds great in front of my Green Rhino Mark II for the perfect Hedrix combo! It likes to be in the front on the pedal chain.
I REALLY like the sound!
Comes with a 9V bat in the compartment, and a nice little book to show you some ideal settings. Seem as rugged as any stomp box.
They say it emulatues an obsolete univibe. This is a much better price than even a univibe. A bargain at this price!
Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
Overall, if you want that awesome sound that goes in and out, you found what your'e looking for. I even play regualr slow blues with this on a slower, less intense setting, and it's fantastic. Pick this up. You won't regret it.
First of all, this is a GREAT pedal for sounding like Robin Trower, David Gilmour, and Hendrix. BBE does a fantastic job of recreating a timeless piece and sound (that piece being a Leslie Rotary Speaker). BBE includes a little booklet in the case that gives you some start-off settings (like a Leslie speaker, "Bridge of SIghs' by Robin Trower, "Breathe" by Pink Floyd, and "Machine Gun" by Jimi Hendrix).
The quality of this little box is incredible, as it is with many other BBE products.
It's a pretty fair price (bit expensive, since their are only three features, but nonetheless great).
Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
Another outstanding BBE product. Accurately re-creates the original Uni-vibe sound when adjusted properly. After reading some of the reviews I decided to compare the soul-vibe to the univibe in real time(rather than comparing it to a Hendrix or Trower tune), to ensure that it replicated the original uni-vibe I dusted off my old vibe and plugged them both in and toggled between the two units while making adjustments. The pedal sounds great in my set-up which is 69' Strat(Texas Specials) > BBE Wah > BBE Boosta Grande > Elite Tone Fillmore > BBE Green Screamer > BBE Soul Vibe > BBE Two- Timer > BBE Sonic Stomp > 84' Twin Reverb(Eminence Texas Heat speakers).
Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
I ordered this pedal about a month or two ago seeking something to push my solos a little further, when it came in, not only did it push my solos, it made my rhythms much more imaginative as well, It is a very nice recreation of the Univibe pedal, the sound can be anything from a subtle wave, to a strong phase, the only con, is when using heavy distortion, the phase doesn't come through real strong on lead parts, but this may be to blame on my high gain solid-state rig, Overall, I like it alot, the 4.0 is just because it wasn't exactly what I expected, but I'm still very pleased with it.

Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
This is the only vibe pedal in this price range that has asymmetrical whirls like a real rotating speaker and the original Univibe. Do the research and see/hear for yourself. Most vibe pedals are just tweaked phasers with a boring, even sweep. This one thumps like a heart! If I had to be picky I would say that it could use a little more bass to thicken it up. But really no complaints here. Don't forget there is a trimpot inside to tweak your sound too. I haven't needed it though.
Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
I have used this pedal for over a year now. It does work for a Vibe in a pinch, but does not have the lush, pulsing sound of a dedicated vibe pedal (Which I use a FT MDV-2 for). Where it does excel is being able to give a good, deep phase a la Pink Floyd. To get the best sound out of it you have to experiment with the internal trim pot. Depending on your amp and pickups the factory setting may not do it for you. I have also found it works best before dirt and distortion. I run mine either first or close to first in the chain. The pedal is rugged as hell. Mine shows a good bit of wear from use but it still functions flawlessly.
Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
Built solid. Comes with an adapter and battery. Simple controls. Internal tone pot set at factory, and actually is just fine. You can dial in some nice SRV sounds ala little wing, or something less rotary shifting into hendrix territory. Trower and Floyd settings, that ain't too shabby. You can set it for a nice subtle shimmer, which I use when shifting into a chorus, to just add something different from the verse. Or you can get Leslie effect.Overall, if your looking for univibe or rotary effect that's extremely portable (don't expect it be like a rack unit or a stand alone leslie) and accept it for what it is, you won't be disappointed. My rigTelecaster > planet waves chromatic tuner > visual sound route 66 > soul vibe > green screamer > sonic stomp > combo with reverb
Comments about BBE Soul Vibe Pedal:
I've been looking for a good vibe unit for so long an I finally found it. The only bad thing I can say is that I don't like the adjustable knob on the inside of the pedal. Other than that, I highly suggest it.
