OVERVIEW

60W of vintage and modern sounds with digital FX.

The Behringer GTX60 guitar amplifier features VTC (Virtual Tube Circuitry) technology, which provides an extensive palette of vintage-style tube, as well as sparkling clean and ultra-modern high-gain tones. Team all this tone up with built-in digital FX and 60W, and you’ve got an extremely versatile little powerhouse of an amp—for far less than the cost of a tube combo.

Because an in-tune guitar sounds so much better than the alternative, and standalone tuners often mysteriously vanish (or have dead batteries), Behringer built a terrific chromatic tuner right into each GTX amp. Just plug in, hit the dedicated Tuner button and follow the blinking LEDs to pitch-perfection.

All GTX Series amps have split personalities: one that features dulcet-clean output, and one that drives your tone with an aggressive punch that only tubes, or our VTC modeling, can generate. So when the time comes, you’ll be ready for everything from mellow blues to metal mayhem.

The Clean channel is elegant in its simplicity. The sound is open and uncolored and can be tailored to your needs by Volume and the analog passive equalizer. The Overdrive channel features Gain, Volume, Bass, Treble and Behringer’s proprietary Contour control, with its radical midrange sweep. All this versatility enables you to artfully define your “perfect” tone, from traditional to “scooped- modern” and anything in-between.

Featuring a full-blown 24-bit digital FX processor with 16 great sounding reverbs, choruses, flangers and delays. This tasty collection is a must-have for any guitarist and includes room, stage, concert and cathedral reverbs, slap-back and medium echoes, two long delays, plus slow and fast modulation effects—all right at your fingertips (or toes, thanks to the included footswitch).

It takes a special speaker to handle all this incredible technology, tube-like tone and brutal output power. That’s why the GTX60 is fitted with a handmade, heavy-duty Bugera 12" vintage guitar speaker. These babies were custom-designed and handcrafted specifically for the GTX Series, and are ideally suited for classic sound reproduction.

Nothing frees your spirit like cranking an amp and unleashing some pure, hot volume—but your neighbors probably won’t appreciate an impromptu concert at three in the morning. That's why GTX Series amps feature a headphone output for keeping your late-night jams personal. The signal from the Line Out/Phones jack applies speaker simulation to the sound in your headphones, so your tone will stay intact. These amps also invite you to jam along with your favorite songs by connecting your CD/Tape or MP3 player to the CD IN jack. CD IN can also be used to send a signal (without speaker simulation) to another guitar amp.

FEATURES
  • Powerful 60-Watt, 2-channel guitar amplifier with authentic tube modeling
  • Digital FX processor with reverb, chorus, flanger and delay
  • Integrated chromatic tuner with auto-mute function

This GTX 60 is a great on the go amp. It is fairly light, has plenty of power, Built in tuner, 12 inch speaker, comes with dual foot-switch, one for channel switch and the other for the effects on/off. There is a clean channel and a gain channel and I like the lead channel because you can dial in your sound and sustain. It also has tube simulation which adds a grit to the timbre. Overall, great for the price. I would not hesitate to use this amp at any live job.

This amp is a big disappointment & an even bigger waste of money. Other reviewers have already noted the output inconsistities & poor sound quality associated with the overdrive channel - and their reviews accurately represent my experience too - plus, after only 2 months the "tube-simulation" selector button works only intermitantly now, but has added an annoying continuous crackle to both channels -
I've gotten no help from Musicians Friend other than giving me Behringers phone #. The only "help" from Behringer so far is a very polite email thanking me for my business. Please read the latest independent guitar magazine reviews & get yourself a quality sounding / quality built amp rather than this junk.

Comments about Behringer GTX60 60W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amplifier:

Don't let the price tag fool you into thinking this is a low quality piece of gear. I bought this for my Dad to use at home and was really impressed by the sound quality.

The tone knobs are very nuanced and the tube emulator button acts as a bright switch on clean channel and really thickens up the overdrive on the second channel (which sounds great anyways w/out the tube emulator). The effects sound great and the 2 button footswitch is the best I've seen included for amps in this tier; very sturdy and useable. Also, plenty of power and volume while being surprisingly lightweight for the size.

Is this a professional quality amp? Maybe not, but it sure makes you second guess paying 4x to 5x more for a higher-end solid state amp. Overall, really impressed by the quality at this price point.

Comments about Behringer GTX60 60W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amplifier:

You can't go wrong with this amp if you need to gig at an average size venue. The tube simulation button gives the amp a fantastic 70's 80's rock sound. Be sure to check back for the 45 day price match. It saved me money on THIS amp!! Very pleased and would recommend it. The only thing I wasn't happy about is I wish that it had a few more delay settings. Other than that ROCK ON! Oh, one more thing, I went to my local hardware store and picked up a small hand truck that collapses to wag the amp around (perfect).

Bumped up from my old little Peavey. For the money the clean tones & dirty pwr this amp delivers are well worth it!The foot switch, built in tuner, sound contouring, & other small features add to the bang for the buck quotient!

Comments about Behringer GTX60 60W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I got this little amp while on sale or give away sale at MF. Must be coming out with a newer model perhaps, but while they last, these are almost mid-size Combo. For the price of an average foot-pedal this is more than a bargain if your looking for a practice or small gig amp. Very good tone in every aspect & can get a very well simulated Tube tune out of amp & usable second channel if you leave the gain down and just use the volume, sounds like a good quality "Tube screamer. Even comes with nice dual footswitch for channel & effects on off. Effects are fairly nice with reverb & chorus rising to the top. Delay is fair but there is no tap to control, just a fx level for effects. But unit has a fan to keep things cool, a spkr. jack if you rather your own 8ohm. cab. & other misc. jacks. Plus a fair Tuner to boot! The bugera 12"spkr. Is vintage 50 watts & sounds like a vintage Jensen, rocks! No complaints here! A bud spoke up for mine he liked it so much & I had to order another for myself! An amp you can take to those gigs outside or a sorted place when you don't want to haul your treasured amp along also-ha! A great little back up for the $$! Can't go wrong & especially if ya get the cheap xtend. replacement warranty if your unsure it will hold up! Hope this helps!
Get ya some while they last! : )

This Amp simply putting it is amazing for the price! It has most of the sounds one would need. I am in awe that Musicians Friends are selling it for the price they are because even at the regular price it is still a steal because of the way it sounds, looks and performs.. On the clean channel it has so much punch and it enhances every note with such clarity. The dirty channel distinguishes all the notes unlike some Amps that make it hard to hear each individual notes this amp allows you to hear everything... I am completly impressed with this Amp and still in shock that they sell it for this price because even at the reg price it would be a steal because of the quality !!!

Comments about Behringer GTX60 60W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I give this unit a C rating. The cooling fan is very noisy, and as others have noted, the overdrive channel has only 2 gain/volume settings - off (0) and loud (anything over 0). The clean channel is fine, sounds good, but I wouldn't buy this again. Basically it's an inexpensive amp with little subtlety. I'll probably keep it to use the cabinet as a monitor, and get a similar Fender.

I can't believe how noisy the fan is. You can't mic the amp because it is too noisy. First one I got was defective, and needed to be replaced. This amp can't be used in any professional environment and is only for use as a home practice amp. Very poor quality. Good thing they are really cheap, or they wouldn't sell any at all.
