I got this amp six months ago and i realized that at lower volumes this thing was great but as you got past 5 on both nobs it sounds like its about to blow itself apart. So today I had a technician look at it, and behold the speaker is only rated at 120 watts. surprise surprise, I will say that the amp is good but the speaker is not up to snuff. So if you don't mind changing the speaker than get this it has the power, its built like a rock, nice EQ options, along with the effect input and output

I had this amp for about 2 years and iI would play with my friend who plays guitar in a garage at low levels and it sounded great but once we got a drummer, we had to turn it up so I put the master half way up and the volume at half to, and it sounded like horrible it lost the low end sound that is had at lower levels. After a few weeks of playing like that, the amp started making weird sounds by its self, I disconnected my bass and turned down all the volume knobs and it still made the sound, I took it to one of my friends who knows amps and he took it apart and notice how cheaply made this amp was, so I would just like to say if you want this amp to play in a band please reconsider this amp is not meant to be played at high volumes.

Practice Amp Only

By Chuck-Owy5x

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I bought one of these. Lasted about 6 months. Speaker is junk, won't handle the load and you can't gig with this, you'll get buried, even at a small club. This is strictly a practice amp. The amplifier finally died at 6 months, I use the cab as a monitor.. A very expensive monitor that sux. If you want a good amp, find another one, here.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I spent some time saving up for a bass amp for awhie before I finally got this thing. I was so excited when it came in the mail I plugged in even though my brother was sleeping (with headphones of chors). The sound of this thing is just about perfect for my likings, great deep bass thump to it that will blend greatly when I get a band and powerful enough valume to make every window in my house sound like their going to brake just touching the string on half valume.I really don't have any complaints about it; it gives me my ideal lows and good enough highs, I play alot of Bon Jovi (lot of lows) and lot of Casting Crowns (a bit of highs) and rock it out with both.

Excellent buy

By Joe Pentangelo

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

This is an excellent product. We switch around instruments a lot in my band, from guitar to bass to keyboards, and this amp has impressed us with quality for all three. This was wonderfully priced, the amp is durable, has very little distortion, even when cranked all the way up, and the EQ offers plenty of tone control. It has an incredible amount of range and was a perfect buy.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I purchased this amp due to the price and decent reviews on this site. Ive had it almost a year and now its dead. Started as popping from the speakers to low distorted sound and now its just dead. Dont buy this amp!

A Worthy Combo

By Josh of Bass

from Chichester, NH

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I'm not an amp connoisseur and I don't claim to be, but I know for sure that this amp is a fantastic value. It's EQ and options are simplistic but they get the job done. It doesn't have any weird effects and honestly brings out the tone of your bass guitar without distorting it. I haven't had any problems with the speaker thus far (I've had it for about a year) and I can crank the volume up without it crackling a bit. For a no-nonsense bass combo at a very fair price, this is the end-all amplifier.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I currently have had this amp for about 4 months and was bought fairly new the amp is well worth the money and when the you go to play loud your volume is way up but there is many ways to fix this the amp is worth the purchase especially if you use a lot of mixing equipment

Dissappointment

By Masterbasser68

from Huntington Beach, CA

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I figured 180W would be enough to play small gigs. Well during the first session with the full group I had to turn up the volume to about 50% and oh my God what happened to my lows? I lost all my tone and it sounded horrible. However for the value, this is not a bad little amp to practice with.

Loud and Low

By Washburnbassist1

from Memphis TN

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I got this amp about a year ago. I was just looking for something cheap but loud. If thats all you're looking for, go for it. The low end is great, a little muddy at high volumes but nice. However, if you like to do any Primus sort of thing with the high end tapping, I would not reccomend this amp. Go for something with a tweeter.
