This is the only amp i bought that lived up to my expectations. even my bugera tube amp has a hard time surpassing the sound of this thing. to have a combo amp with a gain feature is a must for me and i am very happy with what i got.
You cant find a practice amp around this price as good as this one. It sounds great and is very powerful. I have had it for at least 5 years now and it can take the beating. Still works fantastically with a minor flaw. it has a great band EQ and the second channel's gain and shape tool is amazing. i can sound like geddy lee! the compressor is great and i use it a lot, but the ultrabass feature is kind of a bonus that i dont use.
this is the wort part of the review. unfortunately, i had to re-solder the speaker wires once, and a the button to switch channels had been lost inside the hole. i just use the foot switch now or touch the end of a guitar cable to a piece of metal if i need to change channels. i had this amp before i got the one i have now and i remember taking it back because of a hissing sound in the speaker. its all good now.
great price for something so loud and powerful. this amp can easily overwhelm a drummer, and the ability to do so is a plus.

This amp blows I bought it mostly because of all the good reviews since I don?t have a music shop by my house. I own the Behringer Ultrabass BXL450A 45W and it?s a amazing amp the tone is great (after a lot of messing with the eq) and it handles the lows pretty good so I thought I would be getting the same amp just more watts. The amp got to my house in about a week and a half its about 60 pounds and it looks really good. It could pass as a good practice amp if you don?t plug it in but once I did the sound was crap. I messed around with it for a little over 3 hours and couldn?t get a single good sound out of it. The Ultrabass doesn?t do much but make it sound worse the compressor helped very little and the 7-band EQ is kind of pointless when it sounds like shit no matter what you do to it. Even my MXR M-80 couldn?t help out this amp so now I have to pay 48 more dollars to ship it back and get something else? such a waste.

cloth convering on amp may be hard to keep clean in a dusty area. live near a pulp mill and dust is a problem on everything here. harmonia mic is a must to get the right sound, don't cheapout on mic.

Great bass amp with lots of punch. Well built and heavy duty. Speakers has about the same punch as a 15" speaker. Overdrive channel and the ultra bass is great!

Great for practice and definitely better than the 90W amp for the price. Not an amp for anything more than a garage show, but a very good practice amp when your lead guitarist uses a Marshall half stack!

versatile and good for the money.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800 180W 1x12" Bass Combo:

i got this amp 2 1/2 years ago. i didnt want a 15 watt practice amp and a bass stack was out of my price range and this thing is good for the money. its got a good amount of features for a combo amp. its pretty loud, even on lower settings. got some power behind it but its kinda a pain to tote it around. it has its downsides like high end buzzing and piercing sounds, sometimes moreso when the ultrabass function is on for some reason?) its lasted for me, and i use it often, and it holds up well at shows. just gotta figure out if it can be outed to a speaker cab...

One of the best bass amps

        By Morgan Gonzalez

        from Redondo Beach, CA

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800 180W 1x12" Bass Combo:

This amp is so loud! I play a lot of heavy metal esque music and this amp does me justice. If you are playing any type of metal hgenre i would definitely recommend this amp. There is also the BXL3000 with 300 watts but if you dont want to play more then this amp will be good enough to be heard with the guitars and drums. I am officially staying with this amp.

I play in a church musical group and this guy get lugged around home and church two days a week every week. I have had this one for three years along with my Behringer 12 channel mixer. Neither of these two items have every given me trouble. I have read all the bad reviews on both of these items and I have to say it must depend on the person. I was scared after reading the bad review after about a year but these products are going strong. My son's have taken up the guitar and bass. I am going to test out the Behringer products first. I've used other mixing boards and bass amps but I like this one. I think they have value and quality.

        You'll need the warranty

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800 180W 1x12" Bass Combo:

Within 6 months of owning this amp, the power circuit (diode bridge I guess) went bad. It was still under warranty so I drove it 2 hours to get it fixed at this really unprofessional amp repair place. They fixed it, and it's been working for the past 7 months.....As for the amp itself, it has some good features. The equalizer is pretty decent and the Ultrabass function is kinda cool to mess around with a regular guitar. However, this amp just doesn't put out that much power. during practice it has to be cranked all the way up. And if you use a bass with hot pickups, the amp will get distorted when turned up. There's no way this amp can gig unless it's with a mic or DI.
