This is a crazy loud amp. It has a couple issues, but they don't matter, and the bad reviews are from people who didn't have the right fuse, so make sure you have the fuse in the instruction manual before you play it. The other issue is the "play by sight" that it advertises. Mine doesn't work like it should; nothing happens when I push the button. BUT that's easily overlooked when you take into account the fact that it's already graphic EQ, so buy this amp right now, and just make sure you have the right fuse, then play away.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I have had this amp for about 3 months now. And all I can say is wow. I play in church and in a heavy rock band and played it for a gig and was more than enough in a small venue without going through the board. I am very pleased with my purchase

Can't go wrong

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I've had this amp for a couple of years and I have no complaints. Sure it could be louder and have more bells and whistles but I don't need them. For the venues we've played (auditoriums, bars, gyms...) it always delivered. The price to quality ratio, I find is excellent. I play a T-Bird and the combination of the two is what I want.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I took this amp, a Line 6 Floor Bass Pod and a Peavey Grind Bass 6 string, Mixed them together and BAMMM!!!! Instant Funk, Jazz, Rock. The sound is great. Ok you have to get your settings right, but thats with every amp. I really like this sound. The trick EQ is a great tool and EZ to use. Crank it up and you will be pleased. When I slide down from high notes to low and use the ultrabass via foot switch (included), the sound is Fat. The sound of this amp is clean and if you set channel 2 right you can add a little dirt. I Like it !!!!

Stay far away from this...

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I bought this amp probably a year and a half ago as a beginner, BIG MISTAKE. I was using an OLP stringray with it until a few days ago. With the 7 band EQ I could only find 1 combination (a V shape) that wouldn't give me a horrible, muddy tone. Just recently I bought a Warwick 5 double buck 5 string which is too bassy for a '300' watt amp, I have to keep my bass on a single coil setting otherwise I get a deep, extremely distorted and buzzy sound from my amp. This isn't just from my B string, it buzzes with the E and even sometimes the A.As for features... The 7 band EQ is so hard to get a decent tone out of, the overdrive sounds cheap and metallic, the compression acts as some sort of overdrive and the octaver is decent, but how can you go wrong with an octaver.Stay away from this and all behringer basses in general.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I bought this beautiful amp today. I had been using a tiny little 15 watt Fender Rumble bass amp, but that was easily not enough. I had been laughed at for the tiny size of it. Anyways, my band has started playing gigs, so I needed a bigger amp to get over the drummer. So I went to my closest music store (Dot On Shaft guitars, check 'em out!) and had been playing with this one for probably about a month. So eventually, I got it. It comes with a foot pedal to go from clean to ultra bass, and the amp itself is just fantastic. Just for a laugh, I decided to put the volume at max and play a note on my bass. ....I don't think I'll ever do that again. I swear I've gone slightly deaf.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

In the time that I have owned this amp I have been very pleased with its performance. The volume and features of the amp have all been quality and a ton of fun to play around with! I particularly like the built in octavizer which is a blast and the equalizer is actually very helpful for shaping your sound. For the price I have not played a higher quality amp and my only complaint is that it is heavy but when weight is the only complaint that says a lot about the product. Buy with ease and be satisfied this amp gets the job done with punch to spare.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

Its really a powerful amp, for 300watts you dont even need to go past 50% and you keep up with a drummer. I have played with this thing maxed out while running a bass whammy, distorion, wah, and all my other pedals and it has held up just great. The EQ is a great feature to really help you shape your tone. While the ultrabass is worthless and the compress is just 'ok'. The 2nd channel is good if you keep the shape, level, gain all at about 40%, thats what i run to get the best sound from it. While playing some sick riffs, such as the whammy swells at the end of Schism (Tool) the amp really holds out and comes through with the sound im looking for. You can pay the extra cash for an ampeg or something that will give you more tone from the amp its self. But with your choice of bass and pedals its a great neutral amp that is affordable and powerful at a good price. The only thing i dont like about it is it weighs about 80lbs and its alittle bulky so moving it isnt too easy.

Maybe mine is a lemon, but...

By Paul D-ivfma

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I bought this amp because my 100W Ampeg was under powered for the 200+ seat bars we have begun to play in. I wonder if it?s the built-in limiters that kick in to suppress upper end distortion, but from the 9 O?clock position on up, it does not get any louder and only distorts (even the ?clean? channel). If this amp puts out 300 watts for anyone, I?d love to know how. My 100w Ampeg out plays it. Often, I?ll run both amps but drop out all the bass EQ and add an ?extra guitar? sound but that?s NOT what a bass amp is used for?in my book anyway. It may be OK for 25-30 seat bars and that is if you do not have a power drummer. At low volume, it?s got excellent tone, but so does their 90W version for less money yet.

This was the very first bass amp I ever had. It has been great. The bass has so many features and can move the house. I have cranked it to full volume and thought I would tear down the house. This is the best amp at the best price. I would highly recommend this amp.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

This is an amp with some edge. Bought it as a stop-gap whilst the band were re-assembling our arsenal of equipment (upgrading to Yorkville XS400H rig from here). The good points are that it is plenty loud for rehearsal. At gigs I've used other rigs, so I can't say how loud this would be without mic-ing, for example. But I can handily keep up with our drummer in a small room. My guitarist plays through a 100-watt Marshall head, and could likely kill me at will, but he thankfully backs off and we all get along at good rehearsal levels. (He really should get a powerbrake, or just use his 20W Marshall Valvestate already!).The gain channel sounds terrific! The included footswitch turns it on or off. Same with the "Ultrabass subharmonizer" thingie that adds an octave below. Sounds good from about your A (3rd string) and above; IMO adds mud below that (not that you'd need another octave below your 5th string, for example, but neither do you want mud), so you'll want to turn it off if you need passages way down. The EQ let's you extensively tailor the sound. This amp tends to be harsh, best suited for aggressive tones I think. The FBQ see what you're doing thingie is kinda silly, I think. But you might like it. Compressor is quite good as well, I think. All in all, I can recommend this highly for practice. Since I haven't let this travle extensively, I really can't attest to its roadworthiness.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

The amp is well built, and it has alot of features. The 7 band Eq. is nice and the two channel feature is useful. I don't really use the ultrabass setting too much, but it sounds decent. I use a Fender Jazz and a Digitech Overdrive pedal with this amp, and it sounds great, the low notes sound real good and it's strong enough to work well at high volumes without rattling or blowing the speaker. It's loud enough to use for small gigs, and cheap enough for even beginners to afford. Overall it's a great amp and I'd reccomend it to anyone looking for a good deal...well worth it cash.

Killer Amp

By Zac Bardsley

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I've had this amp for about a year now and I have done a lot of shows with my band Love Haight. Pretty much we like to play loud so I have this amp maxed out at least 2 times a week and it shakes the place, but I have NEVER had any trouble with the speaker or any of the electronics. I play a 5 string Warwick RockBass so the low B string makes the amp really tremble, but it still keeps up. The 7 band EQ is awesome but unfortunately the ultrabass function doesn't do all that much. This amp clean (Once you've dialed in the EQ) has an amazing tone to it. For the price this is the loudest, most durable, and best sounding amp you can get.

GREAT AMP

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

This amp is excellent. It has a very huge sound but is able to keep a great tone throughout. I have never any straining from this amp on the louder settings. Some of the features on this amp are a little silly but one of them does stand out. The ultra bass thing isn't all that useful I can't really tell if it's on or not actually. The little foot switch that it comes with is ok but the distortion channel on it just doesn't do the job. Stick with a Boss pedal if you got it. But the 7 channel EQ is great. It really lets you shape and change your sound oh yeah and and the compression setting is cool too. All in all a great amp and worth the money.

It could be louder...

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300W 1x15" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

Keep in mind when you buy this that 300 watts from one brand are not as loud as 300 watts from another brand. I play in a really loud band and found that this amp just couldn't keep up, it couldn't help but be drowned by the kickdrum (and i had it as loud as it would go). If you play in a band that consistently uses line outs, then this will be totally fine, but if your band only mics the vocals then you may want to consider a louder amp.The features are really cool. For the money, this is a really nice amp. I especially like the distortion channel (which behaves more like overdrive than most bass distortions), it's just quieter than I thought it would be.
