If you are looking for a good practice amp or something to use in small intimate venues then this is a good amp. I bought this amp to use for church, but after a year and a half I have to admit it is too small for my needs. My church will hold 300-400 people and I have this amp cranked so I can be heard. I still wish I had more volume, so consequently I am looking for a new amp. Now don't get me wrong, I plan on keeping this amp and using it at home for practice so I don't have to lug my new larger HEAVIER amp back and forth.
Nice simple controls that are easy to use.
Just your average quality for sound equipment, not horrible but not great either.
A good value for what you get.

I've had this for 3 years. A few weeks ago I got my first Warwick bass. Put the battery in the Warwick, plugged it in, and plucked the E string. I almost killed the Behringer. Didn't kill it but learned a lesson. This little amp is fine for a passive bass, but don't expect it to survive a good active one.

Ultrabass BXL450

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I highly recommend this amp. Once again, I greatly enjoy the eq, but the distortion could sound a bit better. Even that can be shaped with a knob, though, which helps. Remember, a good distortion pedal can cost as much as this amp. If you are starting out, look twice at this amp.
For a bass amp this cheap, all of the features came as an excellent suprise. My favorite is the five band eq, which, if you learn how to use, can really make you sound great. I can achieve all the souds I want, and produce original ones too. I sometimes use the gain channel, mainly with my jazz bass, and the gain doesn't sound bad. However, if I was seriously thinking about using it, I might get a better sounding distrotion pedal or similar.
I have had this amp for over a year. It has been cranked to 3/4 to max volume countless times throughout its life, and is still in perfect condition. Don't run away if it says Behringer, because this is an excellent amp.
If getting a gain channel, a 5-band eq, and 45 watts from this price isn't a deal, I don't know what is. Simply put, if you have the money and are starting out, this is worth it.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

i got this amp some time ago (about a year ago) and now i know i really should not have got this amp now its not the right thing for me. it does not sound good at all (but could be good for you. but i really do not like it) it really does not sound like a 45w amp and if you play a 5 string bass or a 4 string in drop C just forget this amp with only having a 1x10. so to sum it up if you just started playing it could be good for you but if you have the $ i would got something else. (try it before you buy it)

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

This was my first bass amp and served me very well for 5 years of heavy playing. For practicing at home or if you're just starting out and on a budget, I'd recommend it. sound quality is very nice all the way up until medium-high volume where the speaker tends to start getting a bit fuzzy and poppy. the adjustable EQ is a very nice feature, very responsive and really does shape your sound. I actually did mic this thing up and play a few small gigs with it and if you have to, it really doesn't sound bad at all. though the built in distortion channel leaves alot to be desired. which brings me to my next, and only other gripe with this amp: I got an EHX bass bigmuff pi to try and get better distortion out of it, and the speaker on this thing doesn't take too kindly to it. it just sounds too fuzzy. once i upgraded to a much larger amp, the bigmuff pedal sounded alot better. tho other pedals like chorus and flanger will do just fine through here. overall, I do recommend it as a home, practice, or monitor amp because its got great sound quality for low to medium volume settings. but if you want something to gig with or run alot of effects through, I would recommend something alot bigger and beefier.

    good for practice

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

epic for your first amp. but bad on stage amp.
Its good for practice and worm ups but when you hit the stage and crank it up. it cracles and evently fails.
I personly think that it a good quality but its my first amp.
for the price it is ok but like ii said hitting the stage and trying to play it loud can kill it passed the 12 o'clock possition.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I bought this about a year ago, and it's been pretty good to me. A little bit of hiss, but nothing to cry over. Okay tone, but I can't get that metallic-piano like tone through my Rouge that melodic-hardcore bands have. I play in a metal/punk band, and it keeps up with 2 60W crates and a drum set during practice at about 7 on the volume. You can turn it all the way up, it will stay in one piece. I've used it in a couple of shows with no more than 20 people at each and it kept up. It's not for any show with a decent amount of people, though.

    Good Little Practice Amp

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I have owned this little bass amp combo for about 2 years now. I play in a rock band and I wanted something to bring home and practice on, rather than drag my big heavy 18" bass cabinet and bass amp head. I just store this little baby in the closet and when I want to practice it is so easy and portable. For a little thing, it sure puts out plenty of volume for practice in a room. It has a little eq on it so you can do some tone shaping on it as well. I have even used this to practice with my band several times. When we practice, it is nice to turn all our stuff down and this thing puts out enuff volume for the rest of my band members. When we do gigs, it is nice to have this little guy pointing at me or the drummer for a monitor. with the tilt back option on this, it makes it very versatile. For the money, you can't go wrong with this. It is everything and more that I expected out of it.

    Best price to performance ratio

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I started by buying Behringer gear for my brother so he could play out with his friends and found myself plugging into his gear because it sounded so good.Seriously, the tone from the Behringer gear is just one shade away from 1960's tube driven gear with 1000 times the reliability. No one in the audience except experience players would know the difference and then they would have to be listening closely. It might as well say Line 6 on the front and it's fraction of the cost.I'm sold on the gear Behringer makes.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I am a beginner at bass and was looking around for a decent starting amp with a friend when he recommended this one. BEST BUY EVER! 2 channels allow me to have different settings (all you really need is two), the equilizer is a nice addition that adds to the value and sound if you can use it properly, the CD Ins are useful for when you want to jam out to music which is waaaay better if you have headphones to practice in silence and of course a master volume control brings it altogether. Only complaint is the lack of an output, but its definitely an awesome practice amp with a punch!
