OVERVIEW

Take off with some of the most extreme and sought-after heavy distortion.

In the churning, smoldering world of heavy metal, it's the middle frequencies that make all the difference between mush and muscle. With the Behringer Ultra Metal UM300 you not only get control over the Mids--you can micromanage them! The UM300 effects pedal gives you the most extreme, sought-after hard rock and heavy metal sounds with super-thick, tube-like distortion--plus virtually endless sustain.

Like most distortion stompboxes, the UM300 comes with Distortion and Level controls. The High and Low controls let you dial in the amount of top-end and bottom you desire. Much like our world-class mixing consoles, we've given the UM300 a Mid Freq control, allowing you to select a midrange frequency (from 200 Hz - 5 kHz) and boost/cut it by up to 15 dB. What this means in terms of tone, is thick, tube-like distortion with endless sustain, for everything from aggressive, traditional metal assaults to bone-crunching mayhem. A bright blue LED tells you when the UM300 is active, while a top-quality on/off switch maintains highest signal integrity in bypass mode.

FEATURES
  • Multi-grain circuitry gives you super-thick, tube-like distortion, plus endless sustain
  • Dedicated Distortion, 3-band EQ and Level controls for awesome sound shaping
  • Status LED for effect on/off and battery check
  • Runs on 9V batter or the Behringer PSU-SB DC power supply (not included)
  • First-class electronic on/off switch for highest signal integrity in bypass mode

Comments about Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This thing sounds pretty decent for the price I paid. It has a good clean distortion that can be tweaked to work along with your amps natural distortion. It's good enough for most. I only wish it had more sustain, but if you like clean rock distortion this thing is perfect. Overall , I am happy with it.

Comments about Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

What can you really get these days for the affordable price range when it comes to an effects pedal that can blow away many of the so called boutique pedals or just a pedal that would cost 3 to 4 times as much and perhaps still not give you the same good results in sound that the Behringer UM300 can and does.
Save you money for other cool things or other affordable effects in the Behringer Effects pedal line. Nuff said !!!!

Comments about Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Easy to to use. Functions as it was designed to. Battery access, no problems. Yes, it's made of plastic so what, it's cost effective. Great response between the high and mids. Amazing thing is it holds up to Boss HM2 pedal until it's cranked up where it get muddy, but it is still such a deal and a nice pedal.

Comments about Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I read some reviews before I bought this pedal, most of them were about the plastic construction, breaking easy etc…The only part that I'm leery of is the foot pedal…The case is fine, the effect knobs are ample and fine, and plastic or not, there is some weight to the pedal, so it appears to be built pretty decent…If they would have just made the pedal metal, this would be an awesome pedal…But I plan on using it for personal recording and practice, and small jam sessions…Though I'm certain it'd work fine for small venue playing as well…Like anything else, if it's not designed to beat to death, then just don't…The effect knob options are great and are so far very responsive…I love it, you can get some intense sounds out of the smallest amp…So far I'm good with my purchase…

Comments about Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal after seeing it used in a couple of Youtube vids, and I figured what the hey. This is a blatant attempt to copy the Boss Metal Zone Pedal. Nothing more or less. I own an older MT-2 pedal, and I have to be honest here, Behringer hit really close to the mark. It is an EXACT duplicate? No, but in all fairness there is about a $65 price difference. That being said, I would really recommend it to anyone wanting a really high gain death metal type sound. The only thing I can fault it on so far is it is made of plastic, so if you abuse it you are gonna crack the case. It also seems a little less bright when you scoop the mids way out, and if you push the bottom end too far it will get rather muddy. I don't get those issues with the Boss pedal. But hey like I said for the cost difference it is a great copy! Buy one and give it a try!
