OVERVIEW

Classic tremolo made famous by vintage '50s amps.

The classic surf music of the '50s and '60s might not have even happened if tremolo hadn't come along. Vintage amps produced this intriguing effect by pulsing the volume of the instrument signal at a user-adjustable rate. The UT100 pays homage to this legendary sound, bringing it up to date for modern surf freaks.

Ease of Use
With its dedicated Rate, Wave and Depth dials, you can shape a pulsating tremolo that nails every sound from rowdy rockabilly and surging surf, to modern space-rock. A red LED tells you when the effect is activated, and you can power this groovy stompbox with either a PSU-SB DC power supply (not included) or a 9V battery. A top-quality On/Off switch maintains excellent signal integrity in bypass mode.

Value
Ride the wave of classic tremolo aboard the Ultra Termolo UT100. And the best part - you™ll still have money for board wax and gas to get you to the beach.

FEATURES
Get the classic, warm and mind-bending tremolo effects of vintage '60s amps
Dedicated Rate, Wave and Depth controls for awesome sound shaping
Runs on 9V battery or the Behringer PSU-SB DC power supply (not included)
Status LED for effect on/off and battery check
First-class electronic On/Off switch for noise-free operation

Tremolo was, for many years, a commonly available "effect" on most amps. It for that reason became part of the sound of more than a few styles of popular music.

Basically a smooth, auto, wavering of the volume, tremolo sounds like it'd have been simple to engineer. In fact it was not, and amp designers developed several competing circuits to get the effect -- some better than others -- on those old amps.

I do not know what type of circuitry this pedal has but its sound is at best "okay." -Definitely NOT the equal of the very fluid tremolo effect of the better old tube amplifiers.

But for all that it is a way to get the basic effect on a modern amp that does not have the feature. And that at a very reasonable cost. When viewed in that light it is a pretty good buy.

Comments about Behringer UT 100 Ultra Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

FIRST THINGS FIRST....negative reviews all miss the point...that this effect was on most amps but disappeared in hoping that metal and hard rockers will not bypass buying the amp merely for having an effect that to them seemed a sound lending itself to 'country/western' like steel pedal guitars.
This one of a total of 4 devices I own by this maker. Three are pedals. All bought AFTER owning and using for YEARS a ZOOM 2020 floor F/X board, a classic, but I still found things I wanted in my chain of effects and one effect missing was the TREMOLO effect. Now the ZOOM would emulate that sound by twerking the phase shifter but it wasn't warm nor I felt fast enough not to screw up my timing. How to describe it...my hearing an echo that you do not yet I react to it BUT you do not hear that echo leaving a horrid 'empty' spot in place of a beat.
ANY WAY this pedal is warm, responsive and get this...FULL. Spacious sound from a mono signal!

Now, about that DANGED BATTERY COVER! It is difficult to install the battery so make sure it is akaline or lithium so it will be LONG TIME before having to replace it and that brings me to that point of battery comsumption. Though I can use a AC/DC power supply, it can cause noise so I use batteries and so far...long lasting be it you follow the rules...unplug ALL cabes when not in use. The pedal is active even if the effect is not! If the cable to the INPUT is in, it is on! I have noticed that one pedal, and I not telling which one, is opposite of the other pedals on which side is the INPUT located, so make sure to unplug all cabels. Besides, unpluging makes sure not one steps on the cable too close to the plug and snap it.

Comments about Behringer UT 100 Ultra Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

Kills your signal tone and level even when off. When on, it sound square and rough with very little control. So cheap that its not worth my time packing it up and returning it. I'd give it to Goodwill, but I don't want to add to anyone misery.

Comments about Behringer UT 100 Ultra Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is the second one of these I have owned, the first ( a gift from a friend) worked fine for occasional use and I'm sure this one will be no different.
I use this primarliy to add a little flavor to a amp ( vintage Kustom) that has a very distinctive vibro/ trem circuit that isn't allways what you want. This is a bit more "Fendery" and is better for surf, country etc, that the amp effect which is more psyadellic.
The plastic construction is fine as long as you are careful , it is easy to loose the spring under the footplate ( or install it wrong) during battery change and forcing the cover closed could break something. Care is needed, and if you are the "robust" type something sturdier may be in order.
Over all a economical way to get some trem on your board.

It's just a NO BRAINER a wonderful unit for the money.
It's got that certain Amp Vibrato type of sound which is just what I was looking for in a pedal. However I never expected to get a new pedal so low priced that sounds this good.

The UT100 is a near perfect clone of a giant competitor's model for a fraction of the price. Knob for knob setting, they each have the same tone. I use it in my personal studio; and it is plenty sturdy for my gigs. 5 stars because of the excellent cost/benefit ratio.

Side by side comparison with my Boss TR-2 tremolo results in no difference in sound or performance. These are a fantastic buy at the sale price. I immediately bought a second one after testing the first. Don't be fooled by the plastic case. They are plenty tough enough for general use. It's hard to find fault with a product this good at the super low cost. Highly Recommended!

This is really a great pedal. Sounds great and even tho its plastic, I think it will hold up well. Did a shootout between this and the Boss TR-2 Tremolo and i couldnt tell the difference.

This pedal does just what a tremolo pedal should do. I'm gonna keep it in the stable of my favorites. Compares favorably to units costing substantially more.

Finding a tremolo effect on an amp THESE days is very hard. I saw this on sale and said "I gotta get that!"
It's every bit as good as I remember the old tremolo effects...great range, speed, etc.
