Both me and the other guitarist in my band have or had this amp. You can get some great tones out of this amp, the modeling preamp section is great for dialing in the sound you want and the effects are decent... I really like some of the delays and reverbs on there. Despite having nicer ambs and cabs available for use now, I still like to use this amp for recording because of some of the tones you can dial in with it.My 2 biggest complaints with this are first: they're 120 watt power rating is a HUGE stretch. I play through a Fender Frontman 212 100 watt combo now and at 4 volume the Fender is louder than the Behringer can get tapped at 10. Put this amp next to any other amp 75 watt and above and volume-wise this thing gets stomped into the ground. We've used these amps for shows a lot of times and you can use them in a small club with the volume cranked.. But at a gig of any size or for bigger outdoor shows you have to mic it to have it not get lost next to the drums, pa, etc.. My second complaint is that to play this at gig volumes (cranked up) you can't keep the feedback under control on the distortion channel and I don't use a ton of gain, I usually turn the gain to about 5 or 6 and there is still a ton of feedback.Overall I do think this is a good amp particularly for recording because of the tones you can get from it. But if you do a lot of shows or shows of any size you will quickly get frustrated with the output of this thing.

Very nice looking amp.I like that all the corners have metal guards on them it's well built the sound is kind of muddy but when you turn it up it gets better. Lets face it for this kind of money your not going to get a sound like a Fender or other fine amp. but again for the money you can't go wrong! It's not bad, good speakers make a deference too I'm using two fender sc112 a great speaker!

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

I didn't need this amp, but the price was great! It's easy to dial in a good, basic sound. It's much tougher to dial in good FX. This amp is heavy and the knobs feel flimsy. I'm not sure I would want to gig with it, but it would be great to leave at your rehearsal space! I've tried it with a really good 1x12, a 4x12 with good Celestions and a 4x12 with cheap, so-so Celestions. I was able to get good sound out of everything with some tweaks. You can get some serious volume out of this thing with the right speakers or by rolling back the low end. The distortion sounds are very useable.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

Bought this to upgrade my home studio, own this same amp with the 12 inch X 2 speakers, but this takes up so much less room. Has all the features you could ever want and lots of flexibility.
At the sale price you can not go wrong with such a well built analog/solid state amp.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

I first purchased a GMX212 amp back in 2009. Loved it! But I really don't care for open back speaker cabs. So I bought a GMX1200H head, and put together a 4x12 cab with Celestion G12T75's and G12H100 speakers. MAN THIS THING ROCKS! REALLY full, deep tone. I don't even use any pedals with this. I did buy the Behringer FCB1010 midi board to go with it. It allows me to switch channels without any delay and also have a volume pedal, plus my pre-set effects. Then i purchased another GMX1200H from here on MF for, get this, under a hundred shipped to my door! My other guitar player uses my old one and he's totally in love with it.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

This was the deal of this Century for me. Had there been any left after I got this amp I would have gone back and ordered another one. Needless to say, for the money and for the way it's built and the way it sounds. Once again Behringer with this V-Tone amp has out done themselves.

    Big Disappointment

    By Jake

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

Overall the amp looked ok. I took it out of the box and the Channel 1 Level knob would not work without me holding my fingers on it. Upon further investigation the affects section also did not work on this unit. It could have been a really nice unit but it had serious issues. I chose to send it back and take the hit on the free shipping that I have to pay out of my own pocket because their product didn't work. Beware of the free shipping claim, it's a one way deal if the item isn't functioning. I may not make future purchases from this company because of this issue.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

I'm a complete basement/hobbiest "musician" and I've always been a gearhead. I started playing guitar about a year ago and have picked up way too much gear in that span. This head is my latest addition.

First of al the power rating is 60 watts peak per channel and not RMS which if the math is right means this head puts out around 40 watts RMS. I'm running the head into a 2x12 cab I pieced together with the woofers from a set of Peavey Stadia II speakers I had lying around.

If you dial this amp in right you can get some great tones. I love the classic Marshall sound and the British selections across the board can get you there. There is indeed a lag between switching channels and you will have to dial down the level of your dirty/crunch channel to match the clean on full blast.

If you have an amp modeler you can just use this unit as a stereo power amp through the slave inputs, and you also get a line out, and a stereo aux in which can be used as a parallel effect loop.

The effects are pretty decent and there are many selections in stereo like chorus, delay, and reverb. Really for 90 sheckles you can't go wrong with this amp head as a something to jam with, as a backup, or practice. With efficient speakers I'm sure you could gig with this head. When I played drums in a band a few years ago we held practice in my basement and the amps the guitar players used were on par with the output from this amp.

The head is also built like a tank. Behringer gets a bad rap because of shoddy quality control in the past but I've had no problems (so far) with their gear.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

Got this at the current price who could resist a full sized amp head at that price. I have had 4x12 i got very cheap at pawn shop and been using blues jr as a head which sounded awesome but i like my jr as a portable combo so I came across this amp head at this price so i got. From the moment I removed it from the box I was surprised at how well constructed the head cab was it feels well made with the exception of the cheap pilgrim hat knobs and the over sized power switch You get a 2 channel amp head that has stereo output at 8 ohms and each channel is 60 watts. You get 3 amp types all have a really good sound, 3 cab types, 3 gain modes, each channel has its own knobs, you get a tuner, built in effects a footswitch for effects and channel switching. there is numerous interfaces from tape out to aux for jamming to a cd player or drum machine it is also equipped with a volume knob for the aux, effects loop. The sound of the amps it emulates is done very well and each is very distinct and recognizable tone and you can mix and match with the amp, cab, gain. My only complaints here is if set wrong the amp does clip and produce a muddy sound but by learning how to set it that won't happen. The other complaint I have is the volume on the clean channel or the american clean is very low for an amp head that is 60 watts. at 60 watts it should be far louder, it is loud though if you are in a small room just not the type of loud you'd expect from a head. But the uk clean is pretty loud and higher gain settings makes it louder of course. The california setting is very loud and adding in gain obviously makes it louder. Tone wise though very impressed and surprized seeing as how this brand doesn't get that many compliments or rave reviews.1 other complaint is there should have been usb on this for recording we are in 2015. I know this head has been out awhile if behringer would fix these issues i would give it a 5. I recommend it

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H 2x60W Guitar Amp Head:

I bought this for two reasons, the price, which was so low, and because it was based on an analog tone generator system, old school tradition of guitar amps, and not digital. I was surprise at the old school technology still delivers a punch. I purchased a Bugera 212v BK 2x12 cabinet for speakers. The sound is strong and tone are very good across the spectrum, from clean to dirty. The Amp head with this cabinet put out a deeper tone with a little more bass, which some players might not like. This was compared to my Fender amps, which are brighter in tone. But the GMX 1200H delivers enough power and sound to full a room. I am very pleased with the purchase, the price and the quality of the Amp head. The only con in my book, is its a bit heavy in weight.

Got the Amp at great price on sale. Very surprised how loud it was, hooked up to my home made 212 cab. Channels, f/x everything works great, gain is flat no screaming, but I've got a pedal problem solved. This is a great amp for practice, jamming, small gigs or auditorium. Cant go wrong with this Amp!
