Both me and the other guitarist in my band have or had this amp. You can get some great tones out of this amp, the modeling preamp section is great for dialing in the sound you want and the effects are decent... I really like some of the delays and reverbs on there. Despite having nicer ambs and cabs available for use now, I still like to use this amp for recording because of some of the tones you can dial in with it.My 2 biggest complaints with this are first: they're 120 watt power rating is a HUGE stretch. I play through a Fender Frontman 212 100 watt combo now and at 4 volume the Fender is louder than the Behringer can get tapped at 10. Put this amp next to any other amp 75 watt and above and volume-wise this thing gets stomped into the ground. We've used these amps for shows a lot of times and you can use them in a small club with the volume cranked.. But at a gig of any size or for bigger outdoor shows you have to mic it to have it not get lost next to the drums, pa, etc.. My second complaint is that to play this at gig volumes (cranked up) you can't keep the feedback under control on the distortion channel and I don't use a ton of gain, I usually turn the gain to about 5 or 6 and there is still a ton of feedback.Overall I do think this is a good amp particularly for recording because of the tones you can get from it. But if you do a lot of shows or shows of any size you will quickly get frustrated with the output of this thing.

I have owned this amplifier for a few years now. I have not been playing too long so when I first bought it i was happy with it. The longer I played with the amp, the more I craved something better. The distortion is nothing impressive and only sounds decent on low volumes. If I can get it louder than my drummer than the distortion sounds something ugly. Overall it is cheap. Both price and quality. Really good for nothing more than a workout when having to move it. Though I will admit it does come with a lot of built-in effects. Most are useless but some are decent.

Ok when they work

I ordered 2 Behringer V-Tone GMX 1200H Heads for a rock band class I teach, with a limited budget to complete a backline. For the price they are not bad at all, loud enough to keep up through one cabinet to a complete band. The built in effects are good but limited on making adjustments to parameters, basically you chose the effect and can only adjust the level/mix.Good for someone working on a budget, however 1 of the 2 amps I ordered now seems to be malfunctioning only after a couple months despite not being abused, pushed or not properly taken care of. One of the output channels is now making a terrible loud hissing noise, totally unplayable, while the second output works, but there is a noticeable when put to a clean setting, almost like there is a flange effect, only it just sounds bad and I cant get rid of it. So I gave the quality a low rating, great to find something this cheap that does the job, but if it malfunctions after a few months, it makes one question the quality and reliability.

Not what I expected

I've owned behringer vamp2 and vamp pro. I though I was getting the same great features that I got with my previous processors with a built-in 120w head. It only has 2 channels as the description said. This is not user friendly to those who want to just plug the head into a midi board.

Honest review.

I got this head with the matching cabinet last january. ive been using it live almost every week up until this november, loud volumes and different styles. okay, the cabinet is amazing, best one ive played through, but thats another story. i really like this head because i dont use many effects, but its got plenty and you can adjust them as you please, and since there are two channels, you can assign one to each. the different amp modes are really really effective and versatile, i can go between a sweet clean, dirty, raunchy, heavy, bright, muddy, crisp, full, thin, whatever tone. i can easily get a tone similar to that of AFI's Jade Puget from the All Hallows EP/Art of Drowning. It's pretty loud, Ive only mic'd it maybe 3 times out of the million ive played in front of 40+people with a loud drummer and bass. for the money, its great, it truly is. to sum it up, cheap, reliable, versatile, amazing.

not bad

By will-t9zOS

from LAFAYETTE

The amp is loud if you know how to tweek the effects. With on board distortion I only had it up to maybe 4 or 5 which is not bad. And thats without feed back. It was purty damn loud. My effects loop dosnt work worth a damn though. And the volume knob on channel one broke off but, I just super glued it back. The eq sucks so you need to get a rack eq or a pedal. Once again on mine the effects loop sucks but maybe im doing somthing wrong. I like all the inputs and outputs on the back. makes it easy to run it thru ur pc and record. I love this little amp regardless of the negatives I've listed. It's bargain priced for someone who aint got the funds. It does the job if you take the time to learn how to use it.

Eh..

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I practice on this amp frequently. And I have to say its a pretty nice amp. But I have 2 issues with it. The second channel no longer gives me the sound I want to hear come out of an amp. Its nothing but this terrible, terrible , terrible, ringing noise. The first channel now is what i have to rely on .. and well .. the clean channel for some oddly unexplainable reason doesn't hold true to its volume settings sometimes. I can have it turned all the way up and it'll act as if its below 3.I don't get it. But hey all in all. for a good year or so it did an amazing job. I probably just got one defected one.

It's alright

By rize

I've owned this for over a year now. It's a good amp for the money. It has way to many effects to find a decent one. You really have to experiment with the settings to find one you like. I found mine after about 9 months of messing with it. The clean channel takes alot of tweaking to get it to sound loud enough. But if you use stomp boxes for your sound dont buy this because the effects that are built in will give alot of feedback when you turn your stompbox on. But for the money, if you don't own stompbox's, and you only have $200, this is a great deal.

I patched this through my Berhinger Ultra Twin with 2X12 Eminence Texas Heat speakers. This thing is loud and sounds great! Certain settings do create feedback and the clean volumn has to be turned down somewhat to prevent the overdrive light warning which really doesn't hurt the Eminence speakers. I replaced the original Jensons in the UltraTwin when I ignored the overdrive warning and fried them.So far I like this head and thinking of getting a Marshall stack cab for even better sound.

Worst Amp EVER!

By Taylor STF

from Streeter ND

This amp absolutly SUCKS!! The distortion levels are so lame! The only distorion you get is either incredibly weak or it causes so much feedback it makes your ears bleed! Not to mention there is not a lot of power to it! Even when our band would play small shows of 100 to 200 people you couldnt even hear my guitar with it cranked!! Not to mention that the amp made it sound really mushy! Please just save up some more money and buy something worth some quality!

good for the price

By lp1985

This amp is a great amp for the price. The distortion is decent for classic rock and some metal. The clean setting is good but should be louder overall it has good punch when played through a 4/12 cab though I would not buy the Behringer cabs.
