Blackheart

A 100 Watt Tube Amp loaded with corruptive power, flexibility, and four classic voices.

The Blackheart Hot Head BH100H amp head takes the basic plug-and-play attitude of a world-class 100W workhorse head and puts just enough thoughtful features on it to make it the most flexible amp in its class, not to mention several classes up. Talk about corruptive power. Two Power Modes (Class AB and Class A) divisible by Pentode (full power) and Triode (half power) operation put 4 unique, classic and powerful voices right at your fingertips. And you won't need a Ph.D to get amazing tone—whether it's searing rock your face off at full volume riff work or plucky, responsive Class A blues when you're felling all deep and stuff.

Awesome Power, Awesome Flexibility—Two simple switches open up an endless world of tonal possibilities.
Class AB/Pentode: 100W of flesh searing power
Class AB/Triode: 50W, tighter headroom, crisper gain, still hurts
Class A/Pentode: 60W, lots of headroom before overdrive, nice and plucky
Class A/Triode: 30W, less headroom, more responsive to your attack

All this before you dial in a brilliantly tuned EQ section and reign it all in through the Master Volume and Master Presence controls.
Two-Channels, Separate EQs: The Hothead has two channels (Loud and F'N Loud), each selectable by a mini toggle on the faceplate or remotely via the included footswitch and each voiced through its own, dedicated EQ section. No more switching from one sound to the same sound in the middle of your jam. Dial in two distinct voices and rock on.

•The LOUD Channel (aka "One") is voiced to range from Crisp Cleans to Classic Rock and Heavy Blues tones.
Controls: Drive, Level, Treble, Middle, Bass
•The F'N LOUD Channel (aka "Two") is voiced to capture Classic Crunch to Sweet Overdriven Lead tones.
Controls: Gain, Level, Treble, Middle, Bass

Tube Effects Loop/Boost Function with Level Control
Both channels share a Tube Driven Effects Loop that can be run in series or parallel modes (selectable by mini toggle on the amp's rear panel) and then hard bypassed, doubling as a footswitch-activated boost. Send and Return controls act as expected when in Effects loop Mode but allow you to tweak your Boost Volume when your effects are hard bypassed. Admit it...that's cool.

Best 100 Watt Tube Amp I Have Owned In My 30+ Years

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

BestB
I have been playing the guitar for 30+ years and during that time I have owned many diffeent amps. When I bought this amp I did like most people do this day and time I read reviews and watched videos of it on Youtube. I purchased mine used off Craigslist and it's the half stack with matching 4x12

I have owned this amp for about four months now and enjoyed it very much. First of all this is not a metal amp folks it's capable of peeling the paint off the wall if you hook up a pedal of your choice it can blast what ever the pedals ability is. In other words if you use a crappy pedal it's not going to make your pedal or cheap processor sound any better then it would on any other amp. So if you play metal and want to play nothing but metal look for a amp more suited for metal.

But if you play rock, blues, grunge or country this amp can swing out some tone that is just out of this world. Need that SRV vibe? Been going nuts looking for that SRV sound? It's right here in this Blackheart Hot Head. Need that Jimi vibe? it's here also. And if you hook up a tube screamer and peak it out on the dirty side like SRV did this amp will have you playing till your fingers bleed. She is a beauty when it comes to tones like that. And from BB King to AC DC yea it's got all that to.

The truth is that I love mine and wouldn't part with it. I just got to looking around my jam room the other day and decided I needed to thin down the heard. So I spent a few days messing with each one of my amps to see who stays and who goes. After doing this all of my other amps went up for sale. I don't care where it was made rather China or Korea it makes no difference when a amp can sound this good. If the price on these skyrocketed to $2,000.00 just for the head and mine got stolen I would just be saving up $2,000.00 to replace it. I like them that much!

This or Fender, or Jet City at under 1500

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The sound of these amps is quite servicable. They provide some decent, useable tones, which is everything you could ever expect in 99% of all guitar amps. There are maybe 4 or 5 amps which are truly remarkable and exceptional and 2 of them arent produced anymore anyway.
Because under 1500, frankly, everything else is built like junk - including the other famous and legendary brand name makers' "value" amps. The Blackheart amps, and IMHO especially the 100H, are built very very well. The sound is decent and they arent that expensive. What more could you ask for in a"budget" amp
This is where Blackheart peels aways from the garbage. Look underneath this things chassis sometime and check out the build quality. Then compare it to another amp of approximately the same price, which looks like they sprayed the components on with a hose... Check out a Jet City too or a Fender (Tube) Amp and you'll find simillar high quality builds relative to thier cost.
Great Value. Fantastic

Incredible value

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The price on these monster heads seem to be dropping quickly - it is unfortunate they are not selling well because they are a great product. With ability to choose from 30,50,60 and 100watts, this is one of the most versatile amps you can find. I can switch to half power and practice in my apartment at a reasonable volume. This is the best sounding amp I have ever owned. Way better than the Peavey Windsor I replaced it with, and to my recollection, much better than an old Marshall JCM back in the day. Check out the videos on Youtube.

No B.S. Straight Rock n Roll machine!!

By sgman1961

from Melting Pot, USA

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

Bought this with the matching cab No B.S. all tube amp with variable power!! very awesome tone after some tweaking and break in time. These are now made in Korea, no longer in china. Let's face it most musicians are on tight budgets but we love and must play! this is an affordable "marshall like" rock machine that is built well and designed to give you classic rock and blues tones. It is very pedal friendly if you need more juice for the goose, and the effects loop is nice. The volume boost is nice as well and works for both channels. Plug in, play, and Rock the place!! Oh yeah its very loud and raw sounding but thank Jesus for a master volume Rock on!!

Excellent Tube Tone

By Gary Worley

from Blue Ridge Ga

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is excellent and can definitely produce metal and all other tones if you know what your doing..The loud channel with a Metal Muff will put you in dangerous territory, the key is the gain settings are not all needed to be all the way on or use your guitar knob to actually control your gain it's really easy but beginners like to put everything on ten to hide there lack of ability For pros you know how tube amps work and this thing is truly stellar, I play everything from Good country to Heavy Metal and it's all here you just have to spend some time to adjust things your way and the effects loop is killer and can use it to boost solos and a line out for the mixer is great I run straight from head on one channel and mic in another Great Sound!!!!

Great Tube Amp

By Jeff44

from Binghamton, Ny

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

If you're looking for a tube amp that has great boutique sound, and at a great price, look no further. This amp delivers very similar tones to old Marshall Plexi amps, and Fenders alike. I now own a Marshall JCM2000 TSL, but only because I play pop/punk and hardcore. If you want a great vintage sounding amp, or one thats great for just straight up rock, buy this amp. And check out the pro guitar shop review for this amp on youtube if you have any question as to how it sounds.

Other two reviews aren't fair

By asdfqwer

from Undisclosed

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp has an extremely low rating because the other two reviewers play metal, and I don't really know why they would buy this for that.I personally haven't played this amp, but I've heard demos, and it sounds pretty great. This obviously isn't an amp voiced for metalcore, don't even bother reading the other two reviews.

Waste of Money...

By Pwnersupreme

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

Well, after my year long struggle with Crate (Blackheart and crate are owned by Loud Technologies) They finally buckled in and sent me a tube amp to replace my Crate flexwave head.I'm on my second Blackheart in 3 weeks. The first one i had worked great for what it was worth; a nice classic rock head. But, they obviously didn't get the message when I said that I bought the Crate for the HIGH GAIN CHANNEL. the gain on this amp is not suited for modern metal at all. Can't get loud enough as my bandmates at practice without the nasty amp distortion taking over the pedal distortion. The first one stopped working six days after it shipped. Tube socket went out.I'm now on my second one and the day after i unboxed it, the "LOUD" channel started getting a horrid hissing and crackling noise. It has now spread to both channels. It's definitely not worth the price. all you're paying for is the 6-12ax7's and 4-EL34's and some metal. the sound is okay in it, but there's not much goin for it

Comments about Blackheart Hot Head BH100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I found this amp to be much less ferocious than it looked. Maybe its just the fact that i own a Madison Divinity... idk, but this amp was lacking in gain and the EQ was too nu metal for my taste. If you are into Metalcore/ Breakcore or any harder music in general. i would NOT recommend
