Fantastic control and sweet tube tone in a 5W 1x10 full stack.

The amazing Blackstar HT-5 Series Mini Full Stack includes the 5W Blackstar HT-5H Tube Guitar Amp Head and two 40W Blackstar HT-110 1x10 Guitar Extension Cabinets. With a combined weight of under 75 lb. the Blackstar mini stack offers a compact full-stack system with lots of power and punch.

Blackstar HT Series HT-5H 5W Tube Guitar Amp Head
The Blackstar HT-5H is an ideal tube guitar amp for studio work or practice, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT tube pedals into a 2-channel, footswitchable tube amp format. The amp's patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes your tone from the USA to the U.K. and anywhere in-between. So now you can effectively design your own tone and finally find "that sound in your head."

Ideal for home and studio use, the Blackstar HT-5H amp head sounds full and toneful even at the lowest volume level thanks to a brand-new tube power amplifier topology designed by Blackstar engineers. The power amp is a low-powered, push-pull design which produces the crunch and breakup characteristics of a traditional 100W output stage but at a much lower volume.

The Blackstar HT-5H tube amp also offers speaker-emulated output, further enhancing its studio credentials and allowing any guitarist to get amazing tube tone straight to tape or disk, or through headphones. It also features the unique 4x12/1x12 voicing switch, allowing you to change the tonal characteristics of the emulated signal between 2 emulated cabinet types.

Add to this an effects loop with switchable level along with 16-ohm and 8-ohm speaker outputs allowing you to run the amp into an external speaker cabinet of your choice, and you have everything you need for recording or practicing.

Blackstar HT Series 40W HT-110 1x10 Guitar Extension Cabinet
The Blackstar HT-110 extension cabinet packs a 10" Celestion speaker that handles 40W for superb power delivery, and at under 24 lb. it goes wherever your music takes you.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5H and HT-110 Mini Full Stack:

Definitely a great purchase. This head is getting great reviews for a reason, it sounds amazing and has every feature you should ever need. Not to mention you'll have cash left over for a pedal or two.

The only problem I had was the 10" extension cabs needed just a little more bite for my personal taste. They're plenty loud and great for country twang or blues. I play a les paul with the 500t and 496r setup and the band I'm in plays a lot of rock and reggae mash-ups. I traded both cabs for an Egnater Tweaker single extension cab...perfect!

This head goes great with Celestion's Vintage 30(16ohm). Whether it's Vox, Egnater, Orange..who ever, as long as this speaker meets with this head, you can have tones ranging from Satriani, Slash, Hammet, SRV, and many more if you know a little bit about your gear.

I highly recommend checking this thing out for yourself. As always, MF was fast, courteous, and inexpensive!

      A Very Satisfied Customer

      By Twilight's Edge

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5H and HT-110 Mini Full Stack:

This HT-5 Stack has made my dreams come true.My profession has been and still is, Test Engineering in both Hardware and Software for that started some 35 years ago.The 10 Things I look for in a commercial amplifier are... 1). Attractiveness.I looked at the stack from every angle, bothup close and far away. I was very impressed by the look and feel of this stack. 2). The feel of the control knobs. When I first turned one of the front panel control knobs, I fell in love with it. Eachcontrol knob was a very smooth and firm approach to it. No slight vibration or scratchy feel.3). Tone production and Presence. The amp produces great harmonics and has such great presence. The highs come through sonicallyand the lows come through acoustically. This stack did every bit of justice to my sound as I could have ever imagined or expected, even at low volume.4). Raw Power.Anyone understanding the raw power that tube has over solid state, will know tube wins hands down. This HT-5S beat out my Cube 30 and Boogie Amps. All in a 5-Watt package. Pure Joy. If you don't think 5-Watts is a lot of power, think again. Absolute must for both practice as well as studio work.5). Usefullness of the features and functions. The ISF control is one of those subtle controls that you feel, more than you hear. Itreally adds to the overall sound. At first I thought it didn't work, but that is mainly because I didn't understand the control at the time. It is almost like adding a warmth control. The effects loop gain switch is great for matching the amplifier to what effects you have. Ensuring that the effects do not subtract from the sound you are trying to acheive. Two channel operation, Clean and Distortion. Each with there own separate gain and volume control. Some songs required both quiet passages and really heavily distorted passagesthat in conjucntion with a foot switch, makes all of this possible. The Headphone Jack was done right. I plug stereo headphones in and I get sound in both ears. Don't need an adapter or insert the headphones plug in a certain kind of way.Distortion thru the headphones sounds great. Usually this sounds like crap because of all the high frequencies that you hear. This type of listening usually sounds like a buzz-saw and that is why I usually mic the amp to go inline. Now I don't have to.6). Portability.Being able to move this stuff around without throwing out your back. Toting aroundmy Boogie was back breaking.7). Cost.I couldn't be more pleased with the cost for the sound I am getting. This rig brings completeenjoyment back into playing. I am completely in another world plugged into this.8). DistractionsCouldn't think of one thing, except plugging a cablwe into the back of either speaker enclosure. It is different than plugging a cable into the HT-5 Head.10). ReliabiltyI haven't had this unit long enough to comment here. When you buy an amp for life and it continues to perform - That is the definition of reliability.Summary,The engineers at Blackstar do understand Valve Technology, no doubt about it. The HT-5 Stack, in my opinion, gets just about a 5-Star for all things I look for in an amp.I usually don't send any correspondance to a company when I buy a product. But the HT-5Stack absolutely blew my mind. I never thought that I was buying into a product that bringsincredible joy. It is nice to feel the music. Cheers,David Anderson

      Best amp for the money

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5H and HT-110 Mini Full Stack:

I have owned my HT-5 for about a month now and wow, it was worth every penny. If you need to play quietly but love the tone of a tube driven amp, this is it. I bought the HT-5 mini stack for school because my apartment is small and the walls are thin. This amp is great I can play anything on this amp and it sounds awesome My Mesa Dual Rec and Marshall JCM800 are able to produce a thicker, chunkier, and fuller sound due to their higher wattage. The HT-5 head through my 4x12 cabs sounds good but is still missing some of that chunkiness, I suspect this is because the little guy is only 5 watts. However with that said if you need small and you wanna shred or play breakdowns this amp will play quietly (or loudly if you want, tons of headroom on it). The ISF is amazing, I can make it sound like my Mesa or my Marshall just by rolling the nob one way or the other, so now at school I get the best of both worlds. The Blackstar HT-5 plays beautifully clean or overdriven, stick an OD pedal in front of it and really let the shredding begin. Lastly the amp sounds excellent through my Sony MDR-V500 headphones when I need to be dead quiet (3 a.m. jam sessions). I can't wait to play a 100 watt Blackstar amp!

God bless the fine folks at Blackstar

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5H and HT-110 Mini Full Stack:

I was leaning toward the Marshall Class 5, but a reviewer suggested trying the Blackstar HT 5. Thanks goodness. Their motto is "the sound in your head," but they didn't say I would get sounds I didn't know existed in my head. I have a Digitech multi-effects pedal hooked up to get various effects like delay, reverb, etc...Nice job Blackstar!

      Absolutley astounding tone.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5H and HT-110 Mini Full Stack:

The amount of amazing tone coming out of this amp is absolutley astounding. While it is pretty straight-forward (I like this, but gave it a 4.5 because some may not), this thing beats out tone-wise my friends EVH 5150 III and most every other amp I've heard in person. Since it is only 5 watts you can get the tubes pushing quick, and this results in great, warm clean tones, and a beatiful, crunchy overdrive. It has enough gain for most metal, however putting an OD in front to boost is where it really shines. I played a Ibanez RG7321 (stock PUs) and even with it's terrible pickups it sounded beautiful. And for the value, it's an amazing deal that cannot afford to be overlooked. If you can try one of these out, do it- even if its just for 5 or 10 minutes. You won't regret it.
